(Last Update: 02.04.2024) since 1900 has become an indispensable part of daily life paris metro, 14 of them are main lines, 2 of them are additional lines Consisting of a total of 16 lines including 227 kilometers A great public transportation system. So that you can easily reach anywhere in Paris 62 transfers You can change the line with the dot 308 stations Although this metro network may seem complex at first glance, once you understand its logic, it is a highly functional and life-making transportation network. Here in this article All the details you need to pay attention to when using the Paris Metro you will find…

How can I tell you that you can go freely from Kadıköy to Sarıyer, from Sarıyer to Beykoz, from Beykoz to Bostancı, from Bostancı to Maslak, from Maslak to Ümraniye, from Ümraniye to Bakırköy, and that your maximum travel time is Imagine it's half an hour. So, imagine that the nearest metro station is 100-150 meters away at most; Paris Metro is such a transportation network... If you wish, you can read the information I have prepared to help you get to know the Paris Metro better. this video Watch it so that what I wrote below will be better reinforced in your mind:

For those who want to learn the details, let's continue our article: To understand the Paris metro well, we need to be able to read the metro map well. For this, firstAreas (ZonLet's start with what the concept ")" means: Paris transportation network consists of 5 different zonesIt has a rating consisting of; Paris historical center 1st zone If we think of it as a ring-shaped partition expanding outward, it would be appropriate to think of it as a ring. During a three- to five-day trip to Paris, the only zone a tourist will use on a daily basis, other than transportation to the airports, will be the 1st zone.

The purpose of the zone allocation logic is to schedule ticket pricing accordingly. Very detailed information on this subject Tickets and Transportation Cards You can find it in the article. If you are going to go outside 1-2 zones, for example Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle Airport, Palace of Versailles, Disneyland Paris, La Vallee Village Outlet Center, Fontainebleau Castle If you are going to places like, then it is not the metro, a much more comprehensive rail system RERYou need to get on, sometimes suburban trains You will need to use; so in the relevant links If you read my articles in full detail, you will not have any problems with transportation in Paris.

Oh, and I should add this information: Already You don't need anyone, including me, to discover how to get from one place to another in Paris and its surroundings. When you type the addresses of departure and arrival points into the map application on your mobile phone, it offers you the most suitable options according to that day and time. Of course, don't do everything the application tells you. Those who study Pariste.Net and study well can easily find which one is the most ideal among the options offered.. But I beg you, don't ask me either; Because when you ask me, I go into those applications and look; It is not possible for me to know every place by heart. 😉

While reading the metro map, we first need to find the nearest station to us. Choosing a hotel to stay in Paris In addition to many important criteria for you, your hotel In this regard, it is also important to know which metro stop is closest.. For example M1 No matter which station of the metro line you are closest to, you can find a train station on this line. in hotel If you stay, you will be very comfortable in terms of transportation..

Already M1 is one of the cleanest lines of the Paris metro, another one M14'type in my opinion. Both lines The wagons are fully automatic and have no users.. So, especially when you take these subways with children, if you find an empty seat at the front, make your children stand there and make them feel like they are using the subway themselves. Believe me, they will be very happy. Even when I feel like that, I can't think of children :)

And despite all these metro lines, new stations and new lines are constantly being built. More Grand Paris Project which will be implemented within the scope of Grand Paris Express The construction of a much larger network that will surround the city continues, step by step, and you imagine the rest... By the way, The most updated and detailed version of the metro map from this link .

From the station where you will take the metro to your destination If you can reach it with a single line Your job is relatively easy; You visualize the last stop of your destination and follow the signboards and move towards that direction. Don't be confused by the corridors branching left and right on the road; Unless stated otherwise, continue moving in the direction of the board you saw before and eventually you will reach the station.

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

But here something you should pay attention to var: There is no problem on other lines, but The routes of the M7 and M13 metro lines change after a certain point. fork and splits into two. In this case, if the point you want to get off at is on the main line, there is no problem, you just need to get on one of the trains going to both ends of the fork, but if the station you want to get off is on one of the forks, you have to wait for the train going that way.

Already, the information panels at M7 and M13 metro stations indicate separate metro times for the two routes, and the direction of the incoming train is written on it. If you pay attention to this issue, you will definitely not make a mistake. And speaking of which, the M7 and M13 subways are not very nice. The passenger profile on the M13 line towards the north and on the M7 line, especially at the stations on the north-east side, is a bit strange, be aware 😉

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

About the Paris metro Another thing you should pay attention to also (perhaps even most importantly) transfer subject. If you cannot reach your destination with a single line, then You need to transfer at the transfer station But don't let these transfers intimidate you. Châtelet – Les Halles, Bastille, Gare du Nord, Opera, Montparnasse, Nation ve Saint Lazare Except for the stations, the situation is not that complicated. Those who can make the Zincirlikuyu-Gayrettepe transfer can easily make the transfer in Paris. : )

The points where you can transfer from one line to another are shown as white circles on the metro map. and from there you see which lines you can switch to, each line given a different color. In other words, you find the stations where you will get on and off the subway on the map, There is no problem if it is a single line, but as I said, if there is a transfer, you discover the white dotted place where these lines intersect. and accordingly you decide which station you need to transfer at. If you are lucky, you can reach your destination with only one transfer, but sometimes two transfers may be necessary :)

Sometimes it is even possible to go from one place to another in two different ways; Now that part is a bit engineering knowledge It's partly a matter of knowing the Paris metro well. There are also technical issues such as which station and which door you wait when taking the metro, and how you can reach the door closest to the exit where you will get off, but for this, you really need to live in Paris for a long time. Since you are a tourist for now, I advise you not to get lost in those details. Determine your route on the map and continue on your way with peace of mind...

Let's get ticket prices to the subject… Tickets and Transportation Cards As I mentioned in my article pricing is based on 5 zones But this regional system borough Please do not confuse with . The center of Paris as we know it is divided into 1-2 zones.. This is very important: The 3rd zone, which the metro reaches, is priced as zone 1-2, but it is priced in the 3rd zone. RER If you want to go with it, it is charged separately. If we look at Paris Metro prices: 2€ In return you can buy it from toll booths and some vending machines (Istanbulkart-like) NavigoEasy to your card 1-2 zone, that is, when you make a single load to use in the center of Paris 2,15€ you pay, if you load 10 17,35€ you pay, so one ticket 1,73€ It happens. What you will buy for children between the ages of 4-10 NavigoEasy You cannot load a single load onto the card, but for a load of 10 8,65€ You pay, so your child only has one ticket. 0,86€It comes to . Transportation is free for children under 4 years old. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Navigo card or Paris Visite Those who have tickets are in zones 1-5 throughout Paris. OrlyVal You can use all public transportation free of charge, except Of course, there are other advantageous tickets and transportation cards, so you can find all the up-to-date information on this subject. Tickets and Transportation Cards You can find it in detail in my article.

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

Various Some automatic ticket vending machines accept cash, some accept coins, and some accept credit cards.; You can make your choice according to the signs on the machines. Additionally, the English language option is always available on the machines. When you have a transportation card such as Navigo Easy, you can also make your payments via the Île de France Mobilités application via your mobile phone. Especially in busy stations, there can be long queues at toll booths and vending machines, so this mobile phone application is important.

After using the ticket once, I recommend you keep it until the exit. Sometimes there may be checks at stations and sometimes in the subways. Validity period and transfer conditions of your single-use ticket as follows:

You can transfer between these means of transportation free of charge within 90 minutes after your first scan, but interestingly, After taking the metro, you cannot take the bus with the same ticket, nor is there any transfer to the metro or RER after the bus ride. Strange but it is… Also You must not exit the turnstile for metro and RER transfers., transfer is only for traveling around the inner corridors between stations and getting on and off; Otherwise, you cannot exit any metro or RER turnstile and then enter another metro or RER turnstile within the time given to you. It's complicated stuff :)

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

The Paris metro is so functional that even though I am someone who loves driving, driving in paris I almost never had a request like this. But I still find it very practical and easy. The Paris metro has several major problems: The first problem is the metro, more precisely the metro stations and transfer corridors. cleaning problem... Although in a program I watched, it was mentioned that the subway was cleaned every day, but when there are so many stations and such long transfer corridors, it becomes a little difficult to cope, no matter how much you clean.

Pollution in the subway used by men of 72 nationalities, mostly homeless or drunk people passing through the stations or passages like a toilet This is not a pleasant situation, but I still had to mention it because I don't want you to be disappointed when you come. And on the days when Paris is hot subway cars without air conditioning It can be a torture.

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

The Paris metro may be dirty and neglected at times, but after all 226 kilometer metro line If we ask whether it is easy to set up or to clean and maintain, of course it is possible to make everywhere sparkling clean in a month, but it will take years to lay all these lines and build all these stations; We are grateful for what we have :)

Another problem is Most of the metro stairs are not designed for the disabled, the elderly and families with babies. beside, Transfer points are long and complex. Although this situation will not seem very strange to those who live in Istanbul and have the habit of using Taksim, Şişhane, Uzunçayır-Ünalan and Zincirlikuyu stations, but considering that the history of the Paris metro is about a century older than the Istanbul metro, it can be excused for not taking such details into account at that time. maybe.

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

Another big problem is the pickpocketing problem that you may encounter frequently in the Paris metro. Please take care of your bag and mobile phones in the subways. The pickpockets in the Paris metro are not just thieves, they are master illusionists. A Week in Paris As I wrote in my book, they can even take your phone or wallet from the front pocket of your jeans. Then what is gone is gone and can never be found, so please be careful.

Still, despite everything, the Paris metro is a magnificent transportation network. Especially if There are interesting metro stations that you should see.. Because almost no two stations are similar to each other (sometimes it can be difficult to notice station entrances), many of them are designed in extremely interesting ways.

Paris Metro Pariste.Net

As you see Paris metro means freedom, The easiest way to get from anywhere to anywhere is by metro. However, if you have time, you can spend part of your trip by bus I would recommend you to do this, because then you will be able to travel around and see the places you missed by passing under the metro.

I wish you a happy holiday, with the peace of mind that you have figured out the Paris metro and now know that you will be able to find your way easily when you come to Paris. Have a nice trip to Paris…

Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries.

  1. Hello, thank you for your reply in the e-mail….
I will get into the subject right away so that everyone will be informed….
The ticket officer at the airport gave us the most suitable, fully equipped Metro buses. We paid 2 euros for a 1-week ticket for 55 people and I received the receipt….. 5. Half a day before leaving Paris, we came across the ticket control on Friday evening in the metro line, we are confident, they checked it, our name is written on the ticket, it is the same as the passport, the officer says, merde, your biometric photo???
When we bought the ticket, we were not informed that I am a tourist, I will be traveling for 4 days, and as you can see, I have the receipt and the card in my hand...
(The officer is pressing and won't let go, it's his week, the consulate is closed, so the tourist's departure day has already come, it's officially a planned fraud over the weekend, Officially: a fraud operation)
The officer knows that I paid the money to that person and that it is my ticket, but the intention is different. Tourists will be defrauded. That's why they took orders. We were exactly 14 people and we were all tourists and we had a similar metro card and no one posted a biometric photo. Normally, I have to leave the city early in the morning and We are very tired, you have time to sleep for about 7 hours, so we didn't have to waste this time, we had to pay a fine of 70 euros in order not to bother...

Be sure not to buy the metro ticket with a photo on it, this ticket is a scheme set up to directly defraud tourists...
    Have a nice holiday…

  2. Hello Mr. Ahmet, throughout our lives we have been looking for people to whom we can say "I'm glad you exist" so much that I can't stop myself from saying "I'm glad you exist" with shining eyes every time I read your articles and watch your videos. Your way of writing, your expressions, your way of explaining and the knowledge you have, literally open my horizons about life. Thank you very much for the effort you have put in and for the blog you have carefully created.
Yes, I confess, I will be traveling to Paris too :) It will be a small, short holiday for my wife and me in mid-July. It's only a 5-day holiday. My wife doesn't know and she is preparing a very nice surprise and of course I am trying to do it with your help. I prepared a small draft myself and I have been excited to share it with you for a long time.
First of all, I think it would be better to tell you the name of the hotel where we will stay. Campanile Paris 11-Bastille-Le marais, and the address is 9 Rue Du Chemin. We will land at Charles De Gaulle airport on Sunday morning, from there to the hotel. As I learned from your articles, the most lively and beautiful area on Sunday is the exact area where the hotel is located. I plan to tour La Marais (I want to act as a guide as much as I can):) On the 2nd day, the classic Paris tour (Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Louvre Museum, Benlux etc.) 3. day, Luxembourg Garden in the morning and going to the concert of my wife's favorite band in the afternoon, which is her dream to watch. That concert will be at the Stade De France stadium. However, I do not know in which zone this stadium is located. On the 4th day, we will go to Montmartre Hill, because we are so in love with each other :) On the 5th day, this is where I am lost too, unfortunately, to be honest, I plan to look at your alternative Paris title again and in more detail. At first, I thought we would go to Giverny village, but it seemed like it would be quite costly for us, so I thought it would make more sense to leave it to another trip.
Since the 6th day will be a half day, I think a short tour would be appropriate. Then, unfortunately, it's time to return home :)
I initially decided to buy Navigo Decouverte for public transportation. But today, I learned that my student, who just came from Paris, has only one ticket that he hasn't used. He said there are 10-15 of them, if I didn't throw them away. If he hasn't, I think it will give us some relief.
I think my humble trip outline will be like this. I will continue reading your articles without stopping and of course there will be many details in them. I would be very happy to learn your opinion about this draft and to be able to get in touch with your vast knowledge, even if only in a small way.
I hope I haven't added too much information, if my mind, tongue or fingers have slipped, please forgive me and your esteemed readers.
Thank you again and again. Thank you and may you always live there. Best regards...

    • Hello…
I didn't know what to say after your nice comment, thank you very much. You don't know how happy it makes me to see all this hard work being rewarded somewhere, to enter someone's life, to make that life easier and more beautiful. Thank you very much.
Your travel program was very good. In fact, you will encounter so many things on your route in view of the beauty of Paris that you will have a hard time keeping yourself from getting off the route. Even if you deviate from the route, you will never regret it :)
Giverny is not a place I would recommend for people coming to Paris for the first time, unless they are a Monet fan. Spending a full day there in a limited time does not mean missing out on Paris. Of course, it is a wonderful place.
If you want to go to Stade de France 3rd zone with a normal metro ticket, it is not valid on RER, but you can take metro number 13 from Saint Denis to Porte de Paris.
If you get off at the station, you can reach the stadium in a short walk with a normal city ticket.
I think you should try to finish the interior of Paris first. Maybe you can buy a daily Batobus ticket for that day that you could not plan, and throughout the day, you can get on and off from any pier on the banks of the Seine River and tour the heart of the city from start to finish. Your ticket will also be valid all day. For details, you can see the Batobus article: https://www.pariste.net/seine-nehri-gezinti-tekneleri-2-batobus/ Even if you don't want to spend money on something like this, a long walk along the Seine River will make your day beautiful, and a walk on the Saint Martin Canal can also be enjoyable. See: https://www.pariste.net/saint-martin-kanali-canal-saint-martin/
These are the things that come to my mind right now.
      With love and respect…

    • Hello again, Mr. Ahmet, I am very, very happy that you returned to what I wrote with great sincerity. In my opinion, art is the integration and display of knowledge with the soul. Only when a musician, a painter, a theater actor and those who perform many other branches of art reveal their souls, that branch of art only exists, gains meaning and touches people. And in my opinion, you present your existing essence, that is, your soul, to us by combining it with your knowledge, and in this way, of course, all your efforts will find a reward somewhere, enter someone's life and make that life easier and more beautiful. I really thank you very much. 🙂
You pointed out the metro number 13 to go to the stadium, I think you will need to make a few transfers to reach that metro and to get to the hotel where we will stay from the airport, you will first have to come to the center and make another transfer. When I examined the metro map, it seemed a bit complicated, but I will try to solve it anyway (I solved the Moscow metro, but Paris seemed a little more complicated. :)).
Endless thanks and respect once again for your contributions, support and suggestions…

  3. Hello,
As far as I read your articles, I think you can help with the metro line. I hope to be in Paris on February 13th. Can I go from Orly Airport to Charles de Cauille station, where the triumphal arch is, by transferring to RER-B and then from Denfert Rochereau to metro line 6? Or is there any other alternative? Can we buy a weekly ticket from orly airport? Would you recommend it for 5 days and how much is the price?
My last question is that the hotel I am staying in is very close to the Triumphal Arch. Can I transfer from metro line 2 to Gare du Nord to go to Stade de France? It seems like it would be possible to reach the stadium from here with RER-B.
If you have knowledge on these issues, I would appreciate it if you could help me as soon as possible.
    Thank you…

    • Greetings
To reach Denfert-Rochereau from Orly, you first need to take the OrlyBus, and then you can take metro number 6 towards Etoile.
As I tried to mention in my Navigo article, you can get the Navigo card from Orly airport. Prices and all the details you need to pay attention to are available at this link. See: https://www.pariste.net/2015/09/pariste-ulasm-18-en-ekonomik-ulasm-kart.html I recommend this card to everyone who will come for two days and also use airport transportation. You will make many times more profit in five days.
You can easily reach Gare du Nord by taking the 2 from the Arc de Triomphe, getting off at La Chapelle station and taking an underground transfer walk. However, if I were you to go to the Stade de France, I would again take the RER-A before the Arc de Triomphe and go to Chatelet. I go to Les Halles, transfer from there to RER-B and reach Stade de France. You go much faster. Still, the choice is yours.
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.

  4. Hello…
I follow your articles actively. I will be in Paris on September 5th. My question is; I need to go from CDG airport to Gare de Montparnasse station, but I couldn't find any information when I looked on the internet. If I want to go with RER, which stop should I get off at? If you have knowledge about this subject, I would be very happy if you could reply.
    Thank you…

    • Hello,
You can reach Montparnasse by taking the RER-B from CDG, getting off at Denfert-Rochereau station and transferring to metro line 4.
Happy days and happy holidays in advance

  5. Be careful with the Paris metro! You may get tired or even get sick. We used the Paris metro up and down with "Paris Pass". However… The Paris metro is an overdeveloped and therefore out of control metro system. The vast majority of stations do not have escalators; At least at the exits. Walking to change stations after entering the metro can sometimes take longer than walking on the surface to your destination. At times we felt like cockroaches running around. Be sure to wear quality walking shoes on your feet. In addition, inappropriate and untimely harsh air currents occur inside the subway - especially during ascents and ascents. If you are sweaty, linen halva will burn. You're experiencing a harsh draft right in the middle of your chest. (Let me note this: If the places in the 1,2st, 3nd and XNUMXrd sections of Paris are more or less formed in your mind and you assume that your destination is close, I recommend you take a taxi. The metro may suggest you change at least two stations to reach your destination. Be careful!..) What can I say? ?: "May God save you, my fellow countryman".

  6. On May 25, my wife and I are going to Paris for 3 days. Our hotel is av. Jean lolive at Hotel Campanile Paris est. Pantin . How can we get to the Eiffel Tower, Triumphal Arch and Champelysees from the hotel? Thanks

    • Hello, your hotel's metro station is Hoche station of line 5. From here you need to take the metro, get off at Jaurès station and take line number 2. If you take line 2 towards Porte Dauphine, you will get off at Charles de Gaulle – Etoile station and reach the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees. If you wish, you can then take line 6 from here and get off at Trocadero to reach the Eiffel Tower. Have a nice holiday.

  7. Mr. Ahmet, I will go from CDG airport to Porte de Ivrı Metro station. Where should I transfer from RER B in the 13 zone. I will buy a weekly card. Thank you.

    • Hello Mr. Tahir,
You need to take the RER-B from CDG and get off at Chatelet Les Halles station. Then, you have to take a long underground walk and follow the arrows to reach the number 7 (pink) metro line. If you take the train from here to Marie d'Ivry, this metro passes through Porte d'Ivry station.
      happy holidays

    • Yes, it is possible to reach it that way too. In this case, you will get off the RER-B and take the tram; So you walk less.

    • Mr. Ahmet, can't I continue without getting off the RER B and take the Marie d'Ivry train at the Cite Universitiatere stop? Can't I avoid walking for a long time this way? I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions. Thank you very much for your patience.

  8. I recommend you to download RATP's mobile application to your mobile phones... It was very useful for me. Of course, do not just rely on your mobile phone; make sure you have Paris metro, RER, bus and noctilien maps, which you can obtain free of charge from the stations. Also, a printout of this beautiful article by Mr. Ahmet...;) Due to the location of my hotel, I had to use the Chatelet station, or let's say the transfer center, a lot. I even invented a curse so that you will end up in Chatelet and never see the light of day... :) It is possible to reach any metro line you want after long walks in this transfer center, but it is very difficult to get to the place you want on the surface (open air). There is also the possibility of following that sortie sign and getting out of nowhere... :) But on the other hand, I wish we had such a transportation system so that we could not find the exit at the transfer center and travel deep within our own inner world... :)

    • 🙂 Chatelet is a very important center in Paris. Actually, I'm waiting for the construction of Les Halles, right in the heart of it, to be completed to write about it. I will write separate detailed articles about both Chatelet and Les Halles.
My life will end as I write, but I guess Paris will not end :)
      Thank you so much

    • 🙂 Now, when I looked at the project of Les Halles, it is a very ambitious project... If it were ours, it would definitely cause all hell as it is at the bottom of the historical monument... :) The French love steel and glass (we also love reinforced concrete!) that is very clear... Its architecture is quite assertive and loud. It seems like it will bring… it seems like it will overtake its functionality… :)

  9. Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Your site contains really enlightening information about Paris, which is a sea. It is admirable that you tirelessly respond to all comments and try to help.
My question is because you said in your article that the cleanest metro lines are numbers 1 and 14. I booked our hotel in the Montparnasse area for our trip to Paris. I thought it would be within walking distance to touristic places like Eiffel, but I saw on a few other blogs that the opera district was preferred. I'm asking because you like the ones passing through that area as a metro. Is the opera district better for accommodation? (both in terms of transportation to tourist attractions and security)

    • Hello Ms. Dicle, first of all, thank you for your nice comment, I am trying to share what I know with those who will come to Paris as much as I can.
The Opera and Grands Boulevards area is definitely a decent area you can choose. Actually, a very detailed answer to your question is possible in the article Paris and Accommodation. Which regions are good, what should be paid attention to, and even sorted by the most ideal location, with around 70 sample hotel links by region. You can read it from this link: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-nerede-kalinir-pariste-otel-secerken-dikkat-etmeniz-gerekenler/
Have a nice holiday in advance

  10. Hello Mr. Ahmet, I have been reading your blog a lot for the past 7 months while I have been planning our Paris trip, I finally figured out the transportation, zones and RERs in Paris (: We will come as 4 friends, but I am curious about something. Let's say we bought a 10 t+ticket and went to Gare Nord We will go to st.paul with the RER transfer from . We entered the RER from nord and pressed the 10 card 4 times and entered the station, we got off at Châtelet and transfer to L1 metro, will we print the card again here? Or will there be any Can we get to the metro without printing a card? Even if we are going to print a card, if we used the card only once, it would not normally fall off since it is within 1,5 hours, but will it fall off since 4 people are using it, I do not fully understand this... Thank you very much for your answer, greetings from Eskişehir...

    • 🙂 Hello, actually, what we call a 10 card is 10 individual tickets, that is, 4 people can get to St. Petersburg with a single ticket by taking the RER or Metro from Gare du Nord, making transfers to each other. You can come as far as Paul. As you said, the important thing is to use the same ticket within 1,5 hours. Tickets are not scanned at metro exits, but you will have to scan the same ticket at RER exits. Think of it as if you shared 10 tickets between you, you bought them collectively so it was cheaper, otherwise each ticket is no different from a single ticket. As a result, with a single ticket, you can travel unlimitedly within 1-2 zones for 1,5 hours, including transfers between metro and RER. Happy Days…

  11. Hello Mr. Ahmet,

    Between 6th and 10th July, 2 families (parents and children) will be traveling to Paris, the first 2 days to the city center and the last 2 days to Disneyland. There are a few issues I would like to discuss with you, if possible;

1-) CDG – City center and Disneyland on the way back – Do you recommend RER or Paris minibus or taxi for CDG (in terms of transportation time and cost)

2-) Our hotel in the city center is 150 meters from the cardinal lemoine metro stop. As far as I read from the blogs, it is within walking distance of the places to visit for 2 days. In this case, should you buy a ticket every time for possible metro needs? Or even if it is for 2 days, paris visite pass etc. Would you recommend us to buy a card?

    Thank you and greetings

    Serkan Şengezer

    • Hello Mr. Serkan,
Since I've had a very busy week, I can only reply to your messages. I'm writing on the very day you arrive in Paris. I hope I'm not too late...
After all, RER is the cheapest means of transportation in any case, but of course it is troublesome. Taxi or Paris Minibus are of course comfortable but expensive. You have to make this choice yourself. If you are going to save money, I recommend RER. If you are looking for comfort, I recommend taxi. If you want comfort and Turkish service, I recommend Paris Minibus. For larger groups, the Paris Minibus is always a more logical option.
You do not need to buy a pass for 2 days. I think you can get by with 10-point report cards. You will be walking a lot, the weather is very nice anyway.
I wish you a pleasant holiday.
      Happy Days

  12. Hello,
It is a very useful web address. Congratulations.
I will come to Paris today for 3 nights.
    1. My hotel is close to Pigalle station. I couldn't figure out exactly how to get there from CDG airport. I didn't know whether to use RER or IDBUS.
    2. According to what you said, the places to visit are in Zone 1, but we also want to go to Disneyland for one day. In this case, what kind of ticket should we choose for these 1 nights and 3 days?
Of course, we have to leave Orly airport on the 4th day.
    3. What's the idea of visiting Paris by bike?
    4. They say buy tickets to Disneyland, Eiffel and Louvre Museum online and avoid waiting in line. Where do these come from? Is it safe?
    5. Finally, we will go to a train station and buy an Interrail ticket for a few days later. I think we can get it from any station?
    Stay healthy, Mr. Ahmet :)

    • Hello,
I think we can start from any question we want :)
5- Yes, you can buy an interrail ticket from any station you want.
3- It is a great pleasure to cycle around Paris. See "Velib" article https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-5-kiralik-bisiklet-velib/
4- There can be terrible queues, especially for the Eiffel. Of course, it is safe if you buy your tickets online and from their original website. For this, you can read the Eiffel and Louvre articles on the blog and access the relevant links.
2- If your budget allows, if you buy 5-1 Paris Visite cards for 5 days, you will not have a headache and you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. If you need to make a budget, you can get by by buying a 10 carnet within Paris and a roundtrip one-way ticket to places outside the travel zone. It wouldn't be healthy for me to calculate on your behalf which ticket would be suitable depending on how much you will travel, you need to sit down and study in Excel :)
1-To go to Pigalle from CDG, you will take the RER-B, get off at Gare du Nord and take a transfer walk to the La Chapelle station of the metro number 2, then line number 2 will take you to Pigalle.
I would write more but I ran out of paper. Can we buy additional paper? 🙂
All jokes aside, I hope the answers were helpful.
      happy holidays

  13. Then, I think we can take the line 7 to go to the Champs Selves, get off at the Louvre stop, make a transfer and reach it, right? :)

    • That's an option too, of course. If it were me, I would take the metro number 7, get off at the Stalingrad stop, then take the metro number 2 and go to the beginning of the Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe. It is more enjoyable to start the walk from there for the first time, but if you want to go to the lower places at other times, it is also possible to do M7 + M1, as you said.

    • Okay, as you say, we will reach the Champs Selves from the Arc de Triomphe. Thank you very much indeed… I am still reading your articles… I even shared one of your words yesterday: "A person who pays 2000 euros for an imitation of a 200 Euro bag is poor in my eyes. But it is not a brand but a quality one." The person who spends 200 euros on the bag is the richest person, at least he has good taste." Goodbye.. If anything comes to my mind again, I will write :)

    • Also, before I forget, can we buy a 7-day mobilis from line 3 to go to these places, so there is no extra zone situation? I guess it would be valid if we also bought a daily mobilis. . For example, we can go to Disneyland with a one-day Mobilis or Carnet (I would be happy if you write whichever is more suitable) without paying any extra ticket fee, right?

    • Mobilis tickets are purchased for a single day and are valid until midnight on the day they are used. You will buy a Mobilis valid for 1-2 zones on the days you will visit Paris, and you will only buy a RER ticket on the day you go to Disneyland, I think you will not have time to go anywhere else that day anyway.

    • Yes, you thought right 🙂 Thank you very much again for all your answers, Mr. Ahmet. I am grateful to you. Goodbye

  14. Oh Ahmet, you are a masterpiece I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart... Thank you very much. . Rest assured, I will do exactly what you say.

    • Thank you very much... If you share the articles you like on your social media accounts, you will make me extra happy :)

  15. Hello Mr. Ahmet, first of all, I would like to thank you very much for your efforts :) If I am lucky, I will be in Paris on February 12. I have concerns about the metro. We will be in a hotel very close to Porte La Villette station, so we will always depart from line 7 :) But where is the transfer to go to Disneyland? What will we do and how many transfers do we need to make? In short, crazy questions in my mind :)

    • Or let me ask you this: Where will we transfer to get to the RER A platform? Where will we transfer to go to Eiffel? If I understand the transfer to be made in both directions (main line and normal line transfer), if I can confirm my map theories that I have been looking at and thinking about for 2 hours, of course, do not hesitate with your answers. I enjoy it but I'm about to go crazy right now :))) (The name of the hotel is Forest Hill Paris / La Villette) Respect and love

    • Hello Ms. Özlem, first of all, thank you for your nice comment.
To go to Disneyland from your hotel, you need to take metro number 7 and get off at the Opéra stop. From here, you will reach the Auber station of RER-A by following the boards and proceeding through underground tunnels and walking paths without ever leaving. You will pass through the RER-A turnstile, go down to the lower platform and board the trains to Disneyland.
To go to Eiffel from your hotel, you will first take the metro number 7, then get off at the Chaussée d'Antin Lafayette stop and transfer to the metro number 9 at the same stop. If you take metro number 9 towards Pont de Sèvres, you will get off at Trocadéro station and reach the Eiffel Tower.
Do not be intimidated by what I have told you, if you follow the direction signs during transfers, you will not have any problems.
Have a nice holiday in advance

  16. A very important point is the working hours of the metro, does the metro close at midnight at 00:00 or does it continue operations at night? A problem related to this issue happened to me in Seoul, where I had to pay a lot of taxi fare :) And while we're on the subject, are taxi drivers deceitful or trustworthy?

    • Oh, you don't know what a difficult question you are asking :) In Paris, Metro and RER lines have opening and closing hours according to their individual stations. Therefore, it is very difficult to say that it opens at this time and closes at that time, but let me summarize it very roughly as follows:
We can say that the metro is open between 05:30-01:00 on weekdays and can be open until 02:00 on weekends, while RER stations are open between 05:30-00:30 on weekdays and extend until 01:00 on weekends. is happening. You can check this link to find out the opening and closing hours of the station that interests you: http://www.ratp.fr/horaires/fr/ratp/metro (French)
However, try not to stay up until the last hour, so as not to risk it.
There is also the night bus "Noctilien", which I need to write about as soon as possible. They also provide service all night until the morning and operate on all main lines. It is possible to use night buses within Paris with a single ticket or with your transportation card.
I don't have much experience with taxis, I take a taxi once a month or a year :) Frankly, I don't need it at all, night buses are very practical; You will see a circled letter N at the night bus stops, you can find out the hours there (or on the internet).
Taxi drivers are disliked people all over the world, but we have the most to do with them :) I think the people here are not extra deceitful, we can say that there are good and bad everywhere.
If you are going to stay in a central place, I don't think you will have much trouble using taxis.
I wish you a good holiday in advance

  17. You are clarifying another issue that I have been waiting for with curiosity. Can we buy mobilis from metro booths like others? What does it cost? Is it valid in all regions? And on a 7-day trip, would it be profitable to buy a daily mobilis or paris visite, paris pass etc.?

    • It is a question that needs to be answered in great detail. I'm currently busy doing research to write an article on this subject. Let me briefly say the following: Mobilis can be purchased from vending machines, its price varies depending on the zone you go to. If you buy a pass, it is very expensive, but if you are going to museums, the discount is advantageous. The Navigo Decouverte card is the best for a 7-day trip, but it is also valid from Monday to Sunday. If your trip extends to the next week, you need to get it for the second week as well. I think I will be able to answer all the questions in the article I will publish in a few days.

  18. So, if you compare it with the London underground, which one is more successful?

  19. I don't know, should such a comparison be made? I've only been to London three times and since I use the Tube as a tourist, my benchmark won't be the same. Of course, it means something more to someone who lives there. However, if we have to make a comparison, the London metro seems more modern, but the Paris metro seems to be more effective; It also looks more original. Speaking of which, I liked the Lyon metro more; wide wide huge wagons 🙂
