(Last Update: 05.11.2024) IMPORTANT NOTE: New transportation prices and practices will be valid in Paris as of January 1, 2025. People who will be in Paris after this date Tickets and Transportation Cards I ask you to read the article.
...
In this article, I have previously written about Transportation in Paris, tickets and transportation passes I would like to introduce in detail the Navigo card, which I briefly mentioned in the title and recommend to everyone. There are two different types of Navigo for those who will visit Paris as a tourist:
- Navigo Week i.e. Weekly Navigo
- NavigoEasy i.e. Prepaid Navigo
Ben I think the most advantageous card for those coming to Paris is Weekly Navigo, but there are many issues and details you need to pay attention to.; Therefore, the majority of the article will be about Navigo Semaine – Weekly Navigo…
1- Navigo Semaine – Weekly Navigo
The Weekly Navigo Card used to be a considerably more expensive option, but Île de France MobilitésIt has become more economical thanks to the advantageous tariff introduced by .
Those who wish can find all the details in the article below. Pariste.Net TVThey can get brief information about this card by watching the Navigo video I published on . There have been many new developments and many updates based on what I explained in the video., so I think it is important for you to read the rest of the article.
Weekly Navigo is a transportation card that anyone coming to Paris can have. Can be filled daily or monthly as well as weekly You can use this card at airports, train stations and almost all metro ve RER from the officers at the toll booths at the entrance of the stations. 5€ card fee You can buy it by paying. Those who will come to Paris by plane Navigo Charles de Gaulle Airportin RER at the toll booths at the entrance. Orly Airportin M14 Orly Metro Stationin or at terminal Orly 4 OrlyBus They can find it at the box office at the bus stop.
Good news: Current version Android and iPhone owners do not need to physically obtain the Navigo Découverte card. if To your AppStore from this link, To your Google Play from this link Île de France Mobilités If you can download the application, you can become a member of the system and define a virtual card on your phone. After passing the necessary security steps and entering your personal information, you are asked to upload a photo. After that, you can make your purchase. Please pay close attention to which date range is valid for your purchase. Up-to-date information about applications In the official web page article at this link you can find. Since I have Navigo annually, not weekly, the way it works is different; Therefore, it is not easy for me to provide support regarding the problems you may encounter; Because I do not have 100% knowledge on the subject, but I believe that if you are people who understand technology, you can easily solve the issue.
If you need to buy the card physically, you can ask the officer at the ticket office to load it daily, weekly or monthly for a fee when you buy your Navigo, or if you wish, you can load it yourself later from ticket vending machines or via the Île de France Mobilités application. weekly card Navigo Week It is called (navigo sömen). When asking the teller "Bonjour, Navigo for one week pleaseYou can also say ” in English… You need to buy a separate Navigo for everyone... And the card you will receive Navigo Discovery (navigo dekuvert or navigo decuveğt) make sure it is. Because daily uploads are made to Navigo Easy. Then you cannot upload weekly.
Tickets and Transportation passes In my article, I wrote that pricing in Paris transportation is evaluated over 5 zones. There is no zone application on the Navigo card. and extremely affordable. For that reason I recommend almost everyone who will come to Paris to get this card. But there is a very important issue you should pay attention to:
When you top up Weekly or Monthly Navigo cards the period of validity Not 1 days for 7 week, 1 days for 30 month, Weekly Navigo is valid from Monday to Sunday, Monthly Navigo is valid from the 1st to the 30th (or 31st) of each month.. So, if you come to Paris on April 15th and want to load Navigo for 1 month, you can load it until April 15th, not May 30th. Likewise, for the weekly card, for example, it is not possible to come on any Wednesday and have the card loaded until the next Wednesday, you have to reload on Monday! If you load your Navigo card on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, you can use your Navigo card until the end of that weekend and until midnight between Sunday and Monday.… If you come to Paris on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can only load the card daily on those days. Yes, this is ridiculous, but unfortunately RATP sees it this way… For example, if you come on Friday and download your Navigo from the application, you can get weekly Navigo, valid for Friday-Saturday-Sunday until Thursday, but if you try to buy it on Friday, it will give you the option for the next week.
That's why when you come to Paris, you need to pay attention to the date and do good math calculations. I recommend this card to anyone who can use it for 2-3 days or more. Because 1-5 zones with a 1 week card Charles de Gaulle Airport, Orly Airport, Disneyland Paris, Miniature France, Palace of Versailles, Defense, Province With this card, you have unlimited access to everywhere around Paris. In fact, you can only go to the airport with RATP's special airport ticket. RER-Bgoing back and forth with 20€ Since the fee is around 100,000, in some cases, if you get this card for almost a day, you will make a profit. Moreover, you have to deal with tickets one by one and No, that ticket's validity period has expired. No, can we make this transfer after that transfer? I lost my ticket. You don't have such problems. First of all, you get this card and as long as you load it, you can travel unlimitedly in the zone you load it in (speaking for zones 1-5, everywhere in Paris and its surroundings).
Let's talk about the pricing: First of all, it is a one-time fee. 5€ card fee you pay (free in app), then for zones 1-5 1 Week Navigo a 30,75€You are uploading to . Monthly Navigo For zones 1-5 86,40€ you are paying. Daily Navigo if 1-5 zone 20,60€. Daily Navigo does not seem very affordable, but maybe if your first day of arrival is on Sunday, it may make sense for those who will go to the city on Sunday and then visit the city, since you cannot buy weekly Navigo.
While taking public transportation You must have your card or phone scanned by the machines; You don't even need to open the app on your phone.. municipal buses There are card reading devices at each door of some articulated buses, which can be boarded from the entrance doors and the back doors. In trams The same situation applies. Some have card reading devices at the station entrance and some inside the tram. You must have your card scanned by them every time. When you scan your card into the device, the green light turns on and you hear a digital sound. If your card is not valid in that zone red light is on and you hear a warning sound. Although you will not have such a problem since you will buy a 1-5 zone card, but sometimes even if you have loaded it correctly, the card does not read or accept it, then you can try again or confidently get on the bus or tram directly.
Metro ve RER You pass through all the turnstiles at the station entrances by scanning your card. Even if you use the right card If your card is not read by accident You ask for help from the attendant at the toll booth, and he opens a turnstile and lets you through. Also If you swipe your card into the device at very short intervals, it will not accept your card the second time you swipe it.. In this case, you need to wait a little and try again. You may need to scan your card at the exits of some stations...
The only feature I don't like about Navigo is is for adults only, or rather, those who came to visit Paris Lack of discounted options for children and students. Considering that everyone over the age of 4 is subject to a ticket in the Paris public transportation system and that children between the ages of 4-11 are only entitled to use a single discounted ticket, you will either choose to use public transportation by purchasing individual tickets for your children or for your children aged 4 and over. You will need to buy one Navigo card each. I cannot say anything about whether a ticket will be checked for your child or whether an officer will stop you and ask for a ticket for your child who is traveling without a ticket. If it were me, I would buy a card for each of my children, use unlimited public transportation, and travel around Paris and its surroundings in peace. Oh also, I said there was no discount for children and teenagers but only There is a discounted option called Navigo Jeunes Week-end, which can be used on weekends and public holidays., for detailed information on this subject Tickets and Transportation Cards Please don't forget to look at my article.
Weekly card loading can be done any day from Monday to Thursday. I told you. Similarly, Monthly Navigo downloads can be made anywhere from the 1st to the 19th. It is not possible to top up for that month after the 20th, and as I said, no matter what date you do it, your monthly card is valid until the last day of that month.
For example, you will stay in Paris for 2 or 3 weeks and you need to use public transportation frequently, what will you do then? As I said, first of all, this issue depends on which day you arrive in Paris. If you came on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, your job is easy. First, you fill out 1 week and ensure your transportation until the first Sunday. You top up for the following week on Monday morning and pay by the following Sunday. Depending on what day you go in the last week, you either load up on the first Monday of that week or make do with other options. This is entirely up to your transportation needs. those options Tickets and Transportation Cards I explained it in detail in my article. Let me also add some information. You come to Paris on Sunday, you can load 1-1 zones on your Navigo card for 5 day and travel unlimited that day, on the same day, you can also top up weekly for the next week and have peace of mind... Of course, this is all about accounting and the calculation part of the job. up to you.
Purchasing Navigo monthly may make sense for those who come only on the first days of the month. I recommend those who will stay in Paris for 1 month and come to Paris in the second or third week of the month to make do with weekly Navigo. Which card should I buy, which installation should I do? It's actually useless for you to ask me, because you have to decide for yourself, depending on "how long you will stay in Paris, when you will arrive and when you will leave, where you will visit, and your need to use public transportation."
If you are going to buy Navigo physically, you must have one with you when you come to Paris. Don't forget to bring your passport photo. beware. Or 5€ You have to give your money and have your photos taken in the automatic photo booths. If you pre-cut it to 25mm x 35mm in size When you receive the card, you can open it by sliding the inside of the plastic slot, paste it directly to the picture section with special label adhesive and start using it. Also It would be better if you had a pen, because cards with no name on them are theoretically grounds for punishment. First write your surname, then your name You can use your card safely and peacefully. This way, you will be able to load and use your Navigo on your next visits, and you will feel like a Parisian. By the way, the example at the beginning of this article is my friend who owns the Navigo card. AybenLet me thank . Will continue to use it on future visits 😉
Navigo designs changed -if I'm not mistaken- in 2015 and then in 2018. Those who still have the old Navigo do not worry, those cards are valid for 10 years (if I am not mistaken), you can go to the vending machines directly or top up yourself via the mobile application when you come to Paris.
When you lose your card, unfortunately they do not replace it with a new one. The cards that can be changed are the annual Navigo cards that can be obtained by those with a residence permit in France, which is not of much concern to tourists.
2- Navigo Easy – Prepaid Navigo
If weekly Navigo does not suit you, the Navigo Easy Card, offered as another option, has been available as of June 2019 and As the old cardboard ticket Ticket+ gradually becomes obsolete, You will need to obtain this card when you come to Paris. I have never used this card, but I would still like to give brief information about the advantages of the card: Navigo Easy card actually has nothing to do with Weekly or Monthly Navigo. Navigo Easy is a system designed to eliminate single-use tickets, you can think of it like our Istanbulkart. 2€ You can buy it at toll booths, some vending machines or via mobile phone app (free of charge). You can top up this card at the box office, from vending machines, or via the Île de France Mobilités mobile phone application. It is possible to load individually or in groups of 10., if you wish RoissyBus or OrlyBus You can upload tickets such as tickets. It is important to be able to load through the application, because sometimes there is a queue in front of the vending machines that you would not believe...
Oh by the way, let me share this strange information: Navigo Easy, oddly enough Charles de Gaulle Airportgoing to RER It is not valid on trains, so you cannot upload tickets with prices determined according to distance to Navigo Easy.. Nevertheless one day Navigo, Navigo Jeunes Week-end You can also download it. It's a mess :)
If you upload a single ticket, For use in zone 1-2, i.e. in the center of Paris 2,15€ you pay, if you load 10 17,35€ you pay, so one ticket 1,73€ It happens. You cannot make a single top-up on the Navigo Easy card you will buy for children between the ages of 4-10, but for a top-up of 10 8,65€ You pay, so your child only has one ticket. 0,86€It comes to . Transportation is free for children under 4 years old.
No photo is attached to this card, and you do not write your name. Therefore, this card can be used anonymously, meaning you can lend your card to someone else, but you cannot use the same card for the same trip. Everyone needs to have a separate Navigo Easy card.
You can transfer between transportation vehicles with Navigo Easy But of course the situation is complicated with transfers :) I can list which means of transportation you can switch to next as follows:
You can transfer between these means of transportation free of charge within 90 minutes after your first scan, but interestingly, After taking the metro, you cannot take the bus with the same ticket, nor is there any transfer to the metro or RER after the bus ride. Strange but it is… Also You must not exit the turnstile for metro and RER transfers., transfer is only for traveling around the inner corridors between stations and getting on and off; Otherwise, you cannot exit any metro or RER turnstile and then enter another metro or RER turnstile within the time given to you. I'm telling you, it's complicated :) Oh, and Noctilien – on night buses Ticket transfer is not valid. Montmartre Funicular There is no transfer for…
...
I think the Navigo issue is now a little clearer. If you are not going to visit museums like crazy, Paris pass, Paris Museum Pass, Paris Pass Lib' ve Paris Visit Pass's don't seem to have much meaning anymore. Time will tell, maybe those cards will also develop new pricing policies.

Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries
Additional info: Île-de-France Mobilités Mobile Phone Application:
From 2019 mobile phone app Ile-de-France Mobilities with now You can download and fill out Navigo on your mobile phone and use it wherever classic Navigo is available.. Ile-de-France Mobilities The application includes all the features of the classic Navigo card. I wish transactions could be made directly through the application without the hassle of purchasing a card, but you can think of it just like Istanbulkart; You need the card itself to activate the application, and you may need to rescan it from time to time. That's why I recommend you to keep your card with you..
Ile-de-France Mobilities app only NFC featured on mobile phones can be used, A single Navigo is installed on each phone, so personalized like classic Navigo.
if If you have an NFC-enabled mobile phone Android Vianavigo app or IOS Vianavigo application You download it to your mobile phone and create a membership. Hello, thanks for the information you provided in advance. I just wanted to ask for advice to make sure. My wife and I are coming to Paris this weekend. And Navigo didn't let me buy a weekly card even though I wanted to buy it before Thursday. I think it's because we're out of Paris. We decided to buy Navigo Easy. The application allows it. However, the sentence in your article "I wish transactions could be made directly through the application without the hassle of buying a card, but you can think of it like Istanbulkart; you need the card itself to activate the application and you may need to scan it again from time to time. So I recommend that you don't leave your card with you" confused me. Do we need to buy a card when we get it even if we buy it through the application?
Hello,
I haven't tried getting a card through the app yet because I still use a physical card, so I don't have a practical grasp on the subject. Normally you should be able to get a weekly navigo online before Thursday, but as you said, the system may not allow a card from abroad, I don't know about that.
I missed that part while updating, thank you for letting me notice: If you can buy Navigo and create a virtual wallet through the app, you don't need to get a physical card.
I will update the article thoroughly at the beginning of December.
Thanks again
Hello Mr. Ahmet, my wife and 5 and a half year old daughter will be in Paris between 18-25 January 2025. Since we will be arriving in Paris on Saturday, I think we cannot get the Navigo card that day. Is it correct as far as I understand from your explanatory video? I also downloaded the Ile de France mobility application. Can we load and use it without getting the card? You said that you should have it with you, but I did not fully understand. Thank you..
Hello, yes, you can't use Navigo during the weekend, you can get it on Monday. Normally you can get it from the mobile application, but I get messages saying that some Turkish credit cards can cause problems, so getting a physical card is more secure. Also, the whole system will change as of January 1st. I will rewrite this article with up-to-date information until you come. Please don't forget to check back after a while.
Hello Mr. Ahmet; My wife and I will be there between December 23-27, if fate allows. I understood the last part of your article as if you need to have the physical card with you, even if it is a mobile application. Can you clarify this a little? Thank you very much for your efforts.
If you are going to make a transaction via the mobile app, you do not need to bring your physical card, but I have heard that some people are having problems with the app not being able to create a card in the wallet (I think due to a problem with some Turkish credit cards), even if they are making an online purchase via an iPhone. Therefore, if you have your physical card, it will be safer to use it when you come.
Thank you very much. It is my custom to ask; do you have a request from Turkey?
Hello Ahmet, with the information I received from your website, we had a comfortable holiday with our 2 children, including Disney, between July 1 and 6, 2024, by purchasing Navigo weekly from Orly airport without any problems. We also did our best with the Navigo card. We went to our destinations comfortably with the IDF Mobilities application. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your valuable comment. Hope you have many more beautiful trips.
Mr. Ahmet, thank you very much for your efforts. Thanks to you, we had a perfect trip to Paris with my family between July 1st and July 10th. You helped us a lot, both with the detailed information you provided here and with the excellent answers you gave to questions that confused me on Instagram. Thank you very much on behalf of my family.
It always makes me happy to see that my articles are useful like this, and this is how I find the strength to continue. Therefore, thank you very much for your nice comment.
Hello Mr. Ahmet
I will be in Paris between July 16th and July 24th. I will buy a weekly pass on the 16th. Can I use it until the 22nd? Will it affect July 20?
Hello Ms. Dilara,
You asked a good question, but frankly I don't know the answer either. Normally, it is said that a special tariff will be used for the Olympics, but as you said, when you buy Navigo for that week, you should be able to use it until the end of July 22.
I will try to ask this tomorrow or the day after when I find a RATP officer.
Hello Mr. Ahmet; Thanks for your efforts…
My wife and I will be in Paris on July 3, landing at Orly Airport and returning to Orly Airport on July 9. Our accommodation is in the 9th District.
In this case, do we need to buy weekly Navigo twice? I request your help :)
As clearly stated in the article above, the answer is: yes 😉
Hello Mr. Ahmet. We will be in Paris between 26 July and 28 July, that is, from Friday to Sunday. We will come from CDG. Do you think it makes sense to buy a Navigo? We will be two adults. Thank you for your answer.
Hello,
Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the Navigo card when you arrive, because your arrival coincides with the Olympic period and a special Pass can be used during that period. You can find details about this at the end of the article on this link: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-8-biletler-ve-ulasim-kartlari/
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Thank you very much… I'm glad to have you…
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
6 years ago, my daughter and I had a very nice trip to Paris and Disneyland, thanks to your guide. This year, my wife and I will be in Paris between 24-27 July, but I realized too late that it was the Olympics. Our consolation is that maybe Paris will be even more colorful. We will land in Orly on July 24th. I guess everything has changed, but we will still be able to get the Navigo card from the airport, right? We will return to Amsterdam by train (after seeing your article on places to go from Paris by train and changing it at the last minute). Unfortunately, during our visit to Paris, almost everywhere was closed. The Olympics will start on the Seine River on July 26. Tickets are astronomically expensive. Would you still recommend us to stay in the vicinity or should we go to another region :) Thank you very much for being our pole star during our trips.
Hello,
Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the Navigo card on this trip, a special Pass for the Olympic period can be used. You can find details about this at the end of the article on this link:
https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-8-biletler-ve-ulasim-kartlari/
Believe me, I have no idea what can be done in Paris during the Olympic period, because it will be a truly extraordinary period. I guess it would be best to stay away from the banks of the Seine. I think Montmartre Hill will be a relatively protected area, but I think there will be an influx of tourists there, too. Therefore, I hesitate to make recommendations for that period. If you have been to Paris before, maybe this time you can focus on the beautiful places outside the city. Then I think this article might give you an idea:
https://www.pariste.net/tur-programi-onerileri-v-pariste-alternatif-15-gun/
I hope you will have an enjoyable trip to Paris.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
I will be in Paris with my wife between July 2nd and 6th (Tuesday-Saturday). I will be landing in Paris at Orly Airport and returning from Charles de Gaulle Airport. As far as I understand from your article, I think the weekly card Navigo will be suitable for me.
Hello, yes, you will solve all transportation with Navigo. Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
We are coming on Thursday, June 12th at noon with our 16 daughters aged 2-13. We will go to Disneyland from CDG. We will stay there for 3 nights. While the kids are having fun there, my wife and I will do Disneyland-Paris for 2 days. On the morning of the 3rd day, we will go to Paris and stay there for 2 nights. Can I get these suggestions from you?
Since my wife and I will use public transportation more (disneylan-paris and back for 2 days), I thought we should buy weekly navigo. Since the children will be in Disneyland, it would be pointless to buy it for them; say what?
Hello Ms. Sibel, since you are coming on Thursday, the ideal card for you will be Navigo in any case. Since children are over 10 years old, they will also buy tickets at the regular rate, so you can consider a single ticket or Navigo depending on how many times they will ride. I wish you a pleasant and fun holiday.
Thank you very much for your reply.
Hello, I am coming to Paris on Sunday, June 14th with my 9 year old daughter and our return will be on Saturday, June 15th. Now when we land, I will get a 1 day NAVIGO card for both of us from the RER toll booths in Charles De Gaulle and I will be able to use this on the RER to go to Garre Du Nord. On Monday, I will load 1 week of Navigo onto the same card. Have I learned my lesson correctly? Could you please give me some information? Thank you very much.
Hello…
If you are going to use public transportation a few more times after the airport transportation on Sunday, daily Navigo will be very useful. When buying from the counter, pay attention to the weekly Navigo Decouverte (with photo). Otherwise, they may give you another card loaded with daily transportation. Add 1 day of "jeune weekend" for your daughter to your daily card, it will be discounted. You can even have the weekly top-up done there for Monday, or you can then make the weekly top-up from another vending machine; Of course, there is no discount for your daughter on a weekly basis.
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Thank you very much for the information.
Mr. Ahmet, thank you for your article and your answers.
We will land in Orly on Friday, 2 adults and 2 children. We will return on Tuesday. One of the children is 2 years old and the other is 7 years old. 2 year old is free.
We will also go to Disneyland.
For “Paris Visite (Pass Transport) – Zones 1 to 5” I calculated 2 € for 1 adults and 206 child.
I had never thought about the Navigo Pass before since it was valid until Sunday.
According to my plan, we may need to use public transportation 15-20 times.
What is your recommendation?
Hello Mr. Salih,
The weekly Navigo card does not suit you as you say. In this case, Paris Visite is the expensive but most hassle-free solution. If you choose to buy separate tickets for each means of transportation instead of buying it, you need to do the math: Airport transportation with OrlyBus or OrlyVal is priced for children and adults, transportation to Disneyland with RER is priced for children and adults, transportation within Paris by metro is available for children and adults, plus Navigo Easy for the metro. Prices vary depending on whether you buy tickets or buy them individually; In other words, it is an equation with many unknowns. If you sit down and make careful calculations, there is a possibility that it will be cheaper, but as I said, you need to work for at least half an hour or even an hour, depending on your travel plan.
Have a nice holiday.
Thank you for your answer. It is really cheap when you load 10 with Navigo Easy. It is 19,35 € including the card fee. If we calculate it as 10 € for Disneyland and return, it costs 2 € for 1 adults and 49,35 child. Let's say we used 10 passes. If we buy 10 passes again, we will not pay the card fee this time. It is still more affordable if it is 43,35 €. On top of that, it seems more affordable if we use Uber to go to Orly.
Am I calculating wrong?
Also, my question is, if there is no day limit with Navigo Easy and we are not going to make transfers, can 2 people use the same card?
You load 10 items in the city and then use them without a day limit. There are also roundtrip tickets to Disneyland, 5 + 5 = 10 euros for adults, of course, it is more affordable for children. If the 10 tickets you loaded onto Easy run out, you load the same card without paying an additional card fee. The card is personalized, a separate card is required for each person.
In fact, as I announced the other day, if you install the Ile de France Mobilities application on your mobile phone and the system allows you to create a card, you will have Easy without paying any card fees. You cannot buy tickets only for RER Disneyland transportation, other tickets can be purchased through this application. It is a very new application. I've updated the details in this post, but I don't yet have experience with the difficulties you may encounter. If you can solve it, you will be comfortable.
Hello there
I was torn between Navigo Travel Card and Navigo Découverte Travel Card to load a weekly ticket. As if on the official website, Navigo travel card is for those living in Paris, Navigo Découverte Travel Card is for tourists, Navigo Travel Card is free, Navigo Découverte Travel Card is 5 euros. We will arrive in Paris on Thursday. When I arrive at Orly Airport, I want to complete the loading of cards and weekly tickets from terminal 4, terminal 5. Because of our luggage, we are thinking of taking Uber to our accommodation. After using the weekly ticket on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, do we not have the chance to download the new weekly ticket on Sunday? Do we have to wait on Monday morning? Thank you for your support.
Hello, both cards are very different from each other. Navigo Easy can be thought of as an Istanbulkart, and Navigo Decouverte can be thought of as a blue card. So it's up to you which one you choose. Currently, card fees are 2€ for Navigo Easy and 5€ for Navigo Decouverte. If you download your weekly Navigo on Thursday, you can use it on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you are going to travel less, you can buy Navigo Easy. As I said, this depends entirely on personal needs. Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello,
I have been using your site and information for years. Thank you very much for this. My question to you is, when I arrived about 3-4 years ago, I had a weekly card loaded. On the back of the card, it says "navigo decouverte" rather than weekly or easy... Do you think if I fill out this card weekly in June before I arrive, can I use it there?
Note: I want to preload as I will be arriving on Friday…
Thank you for your nice comment, Mr. İlker. Yes, your card is still valid (unless there is a problem with the magnetic part). As you said, it is possible to top up with your credit card by downloading the mobile phone application before your arrival. You can do this installation on the next weekday between Monday and Thursday. Thus, you have the chance to use it between Friday and Sunday. Have a nice holiday in advance.
Thank you very much Mr. Ahmet, I had no problems as you said. Now we have one more question, about our friend's new model iPhone mobile phone.
We loaded 1-5 weekly zone tickets for 30 euros by selecting on my iphone – without buying a card from the application, but we cannot see the ticket anywhere :)
Will it generate a barcode from somewhere when it is used? Will it just keep the app open? In other words, it appears in the transaction history that we purchased the ticket, but the ticket does not appear anywhere. I would appreciate it if you could give a little information about this issue for those who purchased it via iPhone without any card.
Since the application is new, I am not familiar with the details. As far as I know Navigo needs to be transferred to “wallet” but I'm not sure. I haven't tried it because I use the classic Navigo for years.
I will be in Paris on Thursday, June 27 – Monday, July 1. I thought it would be more convenient to buy a Navigo card for the previous weeks. It would be more appropriate for me to follow a path for Monday. Are there single-use tickets?
You do as you say in the first week. If you are going directly to the airport on Monday, you will buy a ticket for Charles de Gaulle with the destination being the airport. If you are going to Orly, you may need to take the OrlyBus or Tram. See: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-7-orly-havaalani-paris-sehir-merkezi-transferi/
Mr. Ahmet, which card would you recommend for 3 days in Paris? We will use RER once from Disneyland. Afterwards, we will always use the metro. Which makes sense. 3-day transportation card? Or single boarding tickets?
Hello Ms. Beyza,
Which card or ticket you buy depends entirely on which date you will be in Paris. Otherwise, the ideal is always to buy Navigo weekly, but as I said, if the conditions in the article above suit you.
Thank you for the information, Mr. Ahmet. But yesterday, we wanted to buy a 2-1 Zone, 1-day ticket for 2 people and 1 child. Since there was no Zone 1-2, they sold it as Zone 1-3 and charged 40€. However, if I had bought the machines available there, I could have bought them cheaper.
Hello Mr. Fikret, I could not understand why the teller did such a thing, but as I stated in the article, you did not need to request 1-2 zones, 1-5 zones are given automatically. Whether you want 1-2 zones or 1-5 zones, the price should be the same. I think there was a communication problem.
We bought Navigo easy. I had already rented a house near the Arc de Triomphe. Now I also saw on the Android application that the Navigo Easy card can be loaded from an Android phone as well :) Daily, weekly, one-time, child ticket and transportation to the airport can also be loaded. It was probably a communication error because he insisted on going to Disneyland :) I will install it from the ratp Android application now. Thanks for your response.
Navigo Easy is the card on the left in the cover photo of this article. I know that if you bought that card, you cannot make weekly top-ups. Navigo Decouverte is the card on the right in the cover photo, if you bought that card you can top up weekly. I will wait for the result with curiosity…
Sir, we bought Navigo easy.
1 types of tickets can be purchased, including 26-day tickets, valid for those under 6 years of age, valid for airport buses and all other vehicles, and only for Orly and Roissy airports, apart from single-trip tickets. I loaded a single-use ticket for 2.15€. We just got on RER A without any problems. Instead of buying printed tickets, we can buy and use tickets via our Android phone.
Thanks to you, we have confirmed that the information I stated in the article is up-to-date. For those who come to Paris between Monday and Thursday, Weekly Navigo / Navigo Semaine is always more profitable. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Have a nice holiday.
Hello there
First of all, thank you for the information. I also saw that the Navigo weekly card is valid for Paris residents. Doesn't it apply to tourists?
Hello, if you found this information on an official page about Transportation in Paris, can you send me the link? Apart from this, if it is information you get from travel blogs, it is impossible for it to be true. Thanks.
Hello, I think you can now buy weekly tickets directly from the mobile application. There is no need to get a Navigo pass. Thus, the 5€ card fee will not be paid.
Hello,
For me this issue is a bit unclear. Although I'm not 100% sure, I guess this is only possible for Android devices. For iPhone users, it is possible to obtain the card, then scan it on the phone and load it via the application. Since I have an iPhone, I couldn't try the other application. If you have an Android device and manage to install it via the mobile application before you go, please let us know; I hope it works, because if it does, a big problem will be eliminated.
Mr. Ahmet, you were so helpful that I made my Paris trip much more convenient thanks to you. But as you said, 4 days was not enough to visit the places you recommended. It would be nice if you made detailed blogs like this for other cities as well. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Actually, I would like to make such a blog for London and Amsterdam, but of course it is very difficult to attempt these things without living there. That's why I don't think I'll be able to do this again without a sponsor :) However, that's life, you never know... Thank you very much...
Hello, can we buy zone 1-3 and take the orlybus from orly airport? Or should we take 1-5? thanks
Hello,
There is no 1-3 zone option in the weekly Navigo card anyway, you will need to buy 1-5 zones.
There are 2-3 zone, 3-4 zone and 4-5 zone options, but since they are not in the 1st zone, that is, in the center, they do not interest tourists.
We are traveling to Paris next week and everything is so complicated regarding transportation that your article was very helpful. You explained it in detail, thank you for your effort.
Thank you very much. We hope you have a pleasant trip in Paris…
Hello Mr. Ahmet, first of all, the information in all the works you have written is very valuable to us, thank you very much. I have read your articles regarding transportation information and as far as I understand, NAVIGO card will be very advantageous for us. The issue I would like to discuss with you is the most comfortable and hassle-free route to take from Paris city center to CDG Airport terminal 13 on Wednesday, September 2023, 3 (our return flight will be Sun Express direct to Antalya). I thank you very much in advance for your suggestions, I wish you a healthy day.
Hello Ms. Aslı, first of all, thank you for your valuable comment.
To reach CDG airport, you will need to take the RER-B from Paris city center. When you have a Navigo card, you can use RER-B with your card without paying any extra fee.
To reach Terminal 3, you can get off at RER station, Terminal 2 or Terminal 1 station. Since you will arrive at T2 earlier, it may be better if you get off there. Then, by following the direction signs, you will take a vehicle called CDGVAL, this vehicle is free of charge. You can get off at Terminal 3 by following the direction signs. I'm leaving a few useful links below, have a nice trip in advance.

Hello. I already have this card and it's still there. I will go to Paris again, this time with my wife. When I look at the features of the card on the site below, “The Navigo Découverte card can contain up to two Navigo Day, Weekly or Monthly passes.” I saw a phrase like this. So I can load 2 weeks' worth onto this card. Could one of these uploads be for my wife? Or is it just to use those 2 for myself for 2 weeks in a row?
https://www.iledefrance-mobilites.fr/en/tickets-fares/media/navigo-decouverte-travel-card
Hello Mr. Kemal,
Navigo card is photo and personal, two different people cannot use the same card.
Additionally, it is not possible to load for two weeks - according to current practice. You can make a single upload until the Sunday of the current week. If you want to use it in the second week, you will need to make another top-up for the new week on the following Monday.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, very enlightening information. Thank you. We will be in Paris as a family between 2-9 August 2023. Children under the age of 4 can use transportation for free, but should we still buy a Navigo card, or will children not pass through the turnstile?
Hello Mr. Hasan, you do not need to buy any tickets or cards for children under the age of 4, they can pass through the turnstile with you. Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Ahmed,
First of all, I have been reviewing your blog for two or three days. I can say that I have turned your Instagram page up and down☺️ Thank you very much for the useful information you have given❤️We will be landing at Orly airport from the mainland with Transavia airline in October. Navigo card is really useful and affordable, but we will come to Paris on Thursday and return on Monday. Therefore, it is a bit sad that the validity of the card will expire on Monday. We will only have to reach the airport on Monday since our flight is at 10.30 in the morning. Do you think we should still buy a navigo card? What would you recommend for returning to the airport on Monday? Thank you very much in advance ☺️
Looks like you don't need a Navigo card for the last day. Depending on how many people you have, you can look at OrlyBus or Tram. Even a taxi can be economical and comfortable if you are 3-4 people. For details, see: Orly Airport – Paris City Center Transfer
https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-7-orly-havaalani-paris-sehir-merkezi-transferi/
Have a nice holiday in advance
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Your approach and the information you provide are very valuable. I first discovered you to gain information, but it is very valuable to witness your humanity.
We want to go to Paris on September 16th. First of all, what is the weather like that week? light/thin etc. Can clothes be worn? My other question is about our possible arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Since our arrival will be on Saturday, we cannot get navigo. From the airport we will go to 85 Rue du Rocher towards the Champs Elysees. How can I get there in the easiest and fastest way by public transportation? How can I go to the location I specified after arriving at the center?
I would be very happy if you could provide information. Best regards
Hello Mr. Ali,
It is difficult to predict what the weather will be like on that date, but “Weather by Month in Paris – How Should You Dress for Which Season When Coming to Paris?” Maybe my video titled may give you an idea: https://youtu.be/GOcopwoqapk
When it comes to how to get from one place to another in Paris, you don't actually need anyone, including me. When you write your departure and arrival points in Google Maps, it gives you the most ideal transportation route. To answer your question, I will look at Google Maps anyway; You can look it up yourself, in my place, this is even valid for all of Paris.
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Hello,
Your site has great information and explained it in great detail.
I'm going to Paris this Saturday, so I can only get the weekly navigo on Monday. (I learned thanks to your site)
Which card would you recommend to get from Charles de Gaulle airport to the opera side on Saturday?
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your nice comment.
You can easily reach Opera from CDG with RossyBus. The ticket is special. See: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-20-roissybus/
Hello, your site is really great and contains very valuable information. What I'm curious about is that biometric photographs are now available and they are 5*6 cm in size. The picture on the identity card we currently use is much smaller. What is the exact size of the picture?
Hello,
I haven't paid attention to the ID photo size for a while, thank you for your question. I researched it after you asked, the size is given as 25mmx30mm on the official website: https://www.ratp.fr/en/what-card-used-load-navigo-monthly-and-weekly-travel-pass#:~:text=The%20Découverte%20travel%20card%20is,Découverte%20card%20and%20travel%20pass.
Happy Days
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
We will be in Paris on Friday afternoon for the weekend. We will be leaving on Sunday afternoon. We want to see as many places as possible. Which snow do you recommend for transportation?
Hello,
This depends entirely on where you will be visiting and how often you will use public transportation, but if you want to have peace of mind, you can buy a 3-day 1-5 zone Paris Visite, or if you want to save money, you can buy a one-way airport-hotel ticket and then buy a 10 carnet in the city. For ticket types, see: http://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-8-biletler-ve-ulasim-kartlari/
Happy holidays.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, I first met you from your Paris travel video on YouTube. This and many of your articles were very useful to me. Hopefully, we plan to come to Paris in December. But we will move from Paris to Strasbourg. We researched and saw that we could make the crossing by train. But how can we get train tickets before arriving? If you have any information on this subject, we would be very grateful if you could shed light on it. Thanks in advance.
Hello Ms. Ayça,
It is possible to buy your train ticket from the website of SNCF, the TCDD of France:
https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Mr. Ahmet, first of all, thank you for this blog. I will land in CDG with my 10-year-old daughter on Friday and go to our hotel in the Creteil region. We will travel until Tuesday. Which metro ticket would be the best for us?
Hello Mr. Ziya. Since Navigo cannot be loaded on Friday-Saturday-Sunday, you should use other options. On the first day, you will go to your hotel with an airport RER ticket, and if you will always use the metro during your trips, you will receive a full discounted 10 carnet. You can buy Navigo as you will be visiting a lot of places on Monday and Tuesday, but if you are not going to visit, you will still need to buy a 10 carnet and buy a special RER ticket for the airport on the last day. See:

happy holidays
Hello, thank you also for this useful blog.
I wanted to ask you to make sure.
First of all, as of New Year's Eve, transportation cards have increased. Navigo Weekly is 30€. My question to you is, is this navigo weekly valid on ORLYBUS, or do I need to pay extra money?
Hello,
Yes, I announced that there would be a raise at the beginning of the year, but I could not make any updates because there are 22 transportation articles on the blog and I need to update them all. Of course, I will do it at the first opportunity.
Navigo is on OrlyBus, not on OrlyVal.
I wish you healthy days.
It's a great blog and an informative article about Navigo, but I think a small update is in order:
You cannot make any purchases in Turkey from the Vianavigo IOS application. The system only allows tickets purchased from the box office to be introduced into the application. So, if you want to buy your metro pass without going to Paris via the IOS application, you will not succeed. Best regards
Hello, thank you very much for your nice comment and sharing updated information.
Hello Mr. Ahmet. Thank you very much for the information you gave. I think I read all your articles before going to Paris :) I wanted to ask something about this navigo card. I will go on holiday with my wife and my 6-year-old daughter. From Monday to Sunday. The time fits as you wrote. When buying a navigo card Do I need to get a passport for them too? I wonder if my daughter needs a passport too. Or can all 3 of us use it with a single card? I think the people next to us could also use it with a single ticket. Thank you in advance.
Hello Ms. Fidan, I have not been able to deal with the blog because I have been in Turkey for months with illnesses and other unpleasant issues. I see your question now, please excuse me. Although I'm too late to respond, I wanted to write anyway: A separate Navigo needs to be purchased for everyone. Happy Days.
Mr Ahmet,
During our trip to Paris in December 2021, we bought the Navigo Card from a very friendly officer at the counter on platform number 4 in Orly 5, as you described, and we traveled unlimitedly between Wednesday and Sunday, loading it weekly :) Once mine, and once my wife's, were in the subway. It did not work, but as you stated in the article, when you ask for help from the staff, they immediately check the card and open the door, you do not have any problems. Navigo Card is truly a great convenience, we are very pleased to have learned from you.
Thanks, love
b.
Hello Ms. Barış,
As you said, Navigo card is a great convenience. I think the only problem is that the card is valid from Monday to Sunday, not 7 days. It doesn't make sense that the days are suitable for you, but if they are not suitable for those who will come on Friday and return on Tuesday, for example. For some reason, it's been like this for years, they never changed it.
Thank you very much for your nice comment.
Mr. Ahmet, first of all, thank you very much for the information, our question is about the T7 line. We couldn't find much information about this line. Could there be an alternative way to reach the center from Orly airport? Is it convenient to connect to Louis Aragon with this line and transfer from there? Or is it not preferred because it is a very slow line? Is this T7 line one-way? Is it a coming and going? Is navigo card valid? thanks a lot
Hello Mr. Koray,
I mentioned the T7 line in the Orly article. See: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-7-orly-havaalani-paris-sehir-merkezi-transferi/
Of course, it is possible to reach the center of Paris economically with the T7 + M7 combination from Orly, but T7 is slow and M7 is a somewhat unpleasant line with old wagons. I do not recommend this combination to anyone except those who seriously need to economize.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
You have given me very detailed information, you have put in a lot of effort, thank you very much. I have a few questions, we are planning to go to Paris with Pegasus on Saturday evening, and we plan to stay for 1 week and return on Friday. After reading your articles, a thought crossed my mind. 1- for Sunday. I thought about buying a 3-day mobilis valid for 1 zones and buying Navigo from Monday to Friday. Now, does it make sense to buy this mobilis and Navigo when I land in Orly? That is, both Mobilis and Navigo. If I buy Navigo from Orlye on Saturday, can I just pay the card fee and get it empty? And do I have the chance to fill it up at any metro station on Monday? Or does it make sense to buy it on Monday? If so, is it sold at every station? My other question is, is there a chance to find it and buy it at every station within Mobilis? Thank you very much for your answers and have a nice day.
Hello Mr. Yaşar,
I hope your message is valid for the following Saturday, not for the Saturday you wrote it, and I am not late in replying:
Unfortunately, OrlyBus does not include Mobilis. You can buy Navigo and load 1-1 zone daily Navigo for Sunday. By installing weekly Navigo on Monday, you solve all transportation issues. Happy Days.
Hello,
What a beautiful article that answers all of people's questions, it always deserves thanks.
As a fan of Paris, before coming to Paris, I was looking for an article on the internet that was more than a touristic article and could be a little Parisian, but there was no one, but now it is available with Pariste.net, a heartfelt authority 🙏😊
Your comment is awaiting moderation.
Thank you so much.
Hello, I am a monthly Navigo user. When I made the refund request a few days ago, unlike yours, at the last stage they asked us to upload Navigo's number and the document proving our address to the system. I also uploaded the photo of the navigator and the address part of the rental agreement.
Good day, good work.
Hello Mr. Emre,
As a monthly Navigo user, it is very valuable for you to share this information with us. Thanks to you, we have learned that monthly or weekly Navigo users cannot show any address when applying and must upload a document that requires proof of address to the system for the strike period fee refund transactions.
Thank you so much.
Hello, I think this is the most read title because I read the title 50 times before I went. First of all, Mr. Ahmet, your articles are so helpful that the fact that they are always up to date is also an advantage. I traveled for 3 nights and 4 days as you mentioned in your title, because my time was short. I added a few more places to these, but I couldn't enter many museums because I didn't have the opportunity to visit in detail. As for transportation, I went in the last week of November and even though I landed at CDG airport on Saturday, I bought a navigo card so that I could use it on Monday and Tuesday. It paid a lot of money. First of all, since it costs around 10 and a half euros to use RER, it offers all kinds of advantages and believe me, it is worth buying even for 2 days. There are daily unlimited cards for Saturday and Sunday, if I'm not mistaken, its name is mobilis, 7.5 euros. I used it, it was very good because I had to change 2 metros from the center to reach my hotel. If you act with Ahmet Bey's suggestions, you will not regret it, I thank you very much on my own behalf.
Hello Ms. Gözde,
You guessed right, Navigo is one of the ten most read articles and I am very happy for that. Because in the past, this card was thought to be French, and even the tellers were not willing to sell it; Tourist cards were always recommended, but with this article, Navigo information reached a wide audience. When Turks who come to Paris use Navigo, I feel as happy as if I were using it myself.
Thank you very much for your nice comment and sharing your experience with us.
Hello, first of all, thank you very much for your detailed explanations.
Is there any mistake in what I said:
We can use the Navigo Decouvert card in the metro, RER and city buses. When I get directions to my hotel, it shows a bus number 173 after RER B. I can ride it too with this. I can also go to Disneyland and the Palace of Versailles.
Also, what do you think is the best solution for my 8-year-old child? I think I'll buy him a navigo for the same price. Because if I buy a discounted carnet, he won't be able to go to a place in the 5th zone, right?
Hello Mr. Zafer,
Navigo card is valid everywhere in zone 1-5, including Pari Municipality RATP buses, metro, tram and RER, except OrlyVal. Therefore, what you say is correct.
Looks like you need to buy Navigo for your child too.
There is a discounted carnet for children, and even a discounted carnet for 1-5 zones, but it is advantageous to use that ticket only when traveling between 1-5 zones. Otherwise, buying a ten-dollar ticket for 1-5 zones and then using it for Disneyland and then city transportation is a waste of money. . Therefore, if your arrival and departure dates match, it seems most advantageous to buy Navigo for yourself and your child.
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
I will travel to Paris on September 21, 2020. We plan to stay with my mother for 4 days. Our transportation will be by public transportation. Should we buy a navigo or visite pass? Considering that we will receive it on Monday, which one would be more advantageous? Do we need to buy two Navigos? Thanks.
Hello Ms. Sema,
Cards and discount opportunities change from time to time. Therefore, it is difficult to guarantee which card will have which advantage in your future period. If you wish, let us re-evaluate this issue one month before your arrival.
I wish you happy days.
Hello,
Thank you very much for your detailed article, it was very useful.
According to a new news, as of September 2019, children between the ages of 4-11 can also get free transportation.
In this case, do I not have to pay any fees for my 7-year-old child on city trips or going to Disneyland?
I would be very happy if you confirm it.
Thanks in advance.
Hello Ms. Gul,
There has been a lot of news about this issue, but - as far as I know - it has not been put into practice yet.
There is information on the official website of RATP that indicates that the current situation is still valid.
See: https://www.ratp.fr/en/titres-et-tarifs/reduced-fares-children
Also, when I researched on the internet, I saw that free public transportation for children up to the age of 10 is only valid for children who reside in Paris and have an Imagine R student card. However, if there is a different development, if the free travel right is expanded to be valid for children coming from outside Paris, I will update the blog posts, or if you find the "RATP official web page" information that I could not find, please do not hesitate to share it.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
You gave very descriptive information about the Navigo card. Thank you, it helped us a lot.
We will be in Paris between 19-25 August. As you mentioned, we may have difficulties in reaching Disneyland, Versailles Palace and ORLY airport because there is work on the RERs.
How else can we get to Disneyland? It does not seem to be available on TGV at that time.
We are also considering using N, one of the suburban trains, to reach the Palace of Versailles. Are these trains free with Navigo card?
Thank you.
Hello,
Unfortunately, there is no more practical option to reach Disneyland. If you go to Disneyland on a weekday next week, the line seems to be open. In the evening, starting from 21:00, your return will end at Vincennes station. From there, you will need to walk about 1 minutes to the M10 metro; Maybe there is a shuttle, I have never tried it.
The Navigo card is valid on suburban trains going to the Palace of Versailles, or more precisely, on all suburban trains in zones 1-5 in Paris and its surroundings.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
I got the most satisfying and detailed information about the Navigo card from your blog. It will be my second time to Paris, the first time we completed our trip by purchasing multiple tickets. Unlimited travel with this card will make our trip much easier.
I thank you sincerely.
Hello, thank you very much. I hope you have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Ahmed,
We got off at platform 3 at Orly airport on Monday, June 2019, 1, and as you described in the video, we went to platform 4 and bought a Navigo Decouvert card :) Everything happened easily, as you explained in the video. Since we had a Navigo Decouvert card, we could easily travel around the city using METRO etc. I wish there was someone like you in every city. Thank you very much.
Yours
Hello Ms. Mehtap,
I have been away from the computer for a week, so I had the opportunity to thank you for your valuable comment today.
I am very glad that Pariste.Net articles and videos were a guide in your trip to Paris.
I wish you many nice trips.
Hello,
I want to give information. I landed at Orly Airport on Saturday, May 18th. I went from the platform where 1-2-3 was to 4 by Orlyval. As you described, I went to the Orlybus counter and said I wanted to buy a Navigo Decouvert card. They said it wasn't possible and I could get it on Monday. I said I wouldn't load it, I'd just buy a card. He said the same thing on Monday. While I was going to take the T7 tram to the last stop from here and switch to the metro, I tried my luck again at the box office and they gave me a Navigo Decouvert card. On Monday, I chose zone 1-5 at the metro station, loaded it from the vending machine and started using it.
Yours.
Hello Fatih,
The officer at the OrlyBus counter must have made a mistake if he didn't give me a card even though he had one, because I have bought cards like that for my friends many times.
Fortunately, you were able to get a card from the metro station counter.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Mr. Ahmet, you are great. Thanks again for the details…
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your articles, comments and quick and sincere responses to our questions.
We will be in Paris on Thursday, May 9th and we want to buy a Navigo weekly card. Since it is Thursday, we will be able to buy it and start using it immediately, and since we are at Disneyland etc. during our holiday, we think it will be very convenient.
Our only problem is that we will be in Paris around 6,50 in the morning with Air France and will the RER counters where we will purchase this card be open at that time and will the transaction be completed in approximately 5-10 minutes? (We bring a pen and a photo to write a name with us :) Also, can you write down the exact place where we can get the card for CDG airport?
Hello,
If your flight lands at 06:50, you will pick up your luggage and leave around 07:50-08:00, so the Navigo counter will definitely be open at that time.
I don't know which terminal your flight will land at, but if it lands at Terminal 1, you must first take CDGVal and reach RER Gare Terminale 1-3 station. If it lands at Terminal 2, you must (most likely) reach RER Gare Terminale 2 on foot. You will see the Navigo sales counter right next to the turnstiles.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
We follow your articles and Instagram live broadcasts with pleasure.
I think we figured out where to do what and how much time we need to allocate before arriving :)
Also, although this is your first stage experience, from what I watched, I think you gave a very good performance, congratulations :)
Let's talk about the reasons why I don't bother :))
We will be in Paris for 5 days next month. We will arrive on Wednesday and leave on Sunday.
In this case, Navigo seems to be advantageous for us.
There are only 1 or 2 situations that come to my mind;
The first is Navigo's latest prices,
Secondly, about arriving at the hotel.
When we land at Charles De Gaulle Airport, we will choose RER-B, transfer to M6 at the Denfert-Rochereau stop, get off at the Cambronne stop and arrive at our hotel.
I can't understand whether transfers between the two lines are free or whether we won't be able to transfer with our card.
We also want to see Montmartre Hill in the coming days. Will Navigo help us with transportation here?
Thank you very much for your help and educational information.
Happy Days.
Hello Ms. Irmak,
First of all, thank you very much. As Chorale de Paris, we really had a very enjoyable concert, it was worth all our effort. Now we are waiting for the next concert date to be determined 😉
As for the answer to your question:
If you have a Navigo card (except OrlyVal), you can transfer from any vehicle to any vehicle you want, there will be no problem.
It is possible to go to Montmartre with Montmartrobus. You can find the details in this article: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-17-montmartre-otobusu-montmartrobus/
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, thanks to you, I planned a wonderful trip to Paris, thank you very much.
I have a question about the Navigo card. Is it possible to get this card before coming to Paris?
I looked around a bit and saw that sales were made at a place called SNCF Transilien. I would be very happy if you could give me information about this.
Hello Mr. Fahri, unfortunately it is not possible to get the Navigo cards used by tourists before coming to Paris.
mrhb,
Thank you for a satisfying detailed explanation.
My child will be a guest (erasmus) student at the university in Paris for 4 months. He's in Paris right now.
I have 2 basic questions, thank you in advance for your help.
1- My child will receive a navigo card on January 1, 2019 (since he will stay for 4 months, the R-student card for 12 months seems unreasonable). Our question is, can we make the next payments with our Navigo card online using the International Credit Card (that is, issued in Turkey and open to international shopping)? There is a payment method, but we couldn't figure it out since we haven't received the card yet.
2- There is Carrefour there, as parents in Istanbul, we could order online from Istanbul-CarefourSA and most importantly, pay online with our credit card and shop for FOOD at the student's house in Istanbul at the time we determined. Since my French is inadequate, we understood through Google Translator that Carrefour-Paris delivers to homes in Paris, but we could not understand this ONLINE (online, open to international payment, can we also pay with a credit card from a Turkish bank), as if I could only accept credit cards or debit cards issued from French banks. valid…I would appreciate it if you could clarify fully.
Best regards
Hello,
All my friends from Turkey buy Navigo with Turkish credit cards. I don't think there will be a problem especially with Visa and Master Card, but I don't know about American Express.
Online shopping with credit card is a bit complicated. That is to say: Theoretically, there will be no problem, that is, you can shop online in Paris with a Turkish credit card, but if you do online shopping for your child from Turkey via a French website, then I don't know if the system will allow this. Because the internet browser defines the location; Being located in Türkiye may cause problems; It may not work... I'm not sure about that, you can shop online in France with your SMA Turkish credit card, that's for sure.
Happy days, happy new year.
Hello there
My wife and I were going to Paris for the first time. Mr. Ahmet, it was wonderful to meet Pariste.net. We had a wonderful holiday, thanks to you. We couldn't believe the useful information and the information you provided. Everything started with getting a navigo card at CDG airport. Mr. Ahmet, buy a passport photo and a ballpoint pen. "We started tinkering there," he said. Someone who didn't know wouldn't think of bringing a photo with him.
Thank you very much Ms. Müge,
Navigo is important, photography-pencil issue is important :)
I'm so glad you had a nice holiday.
I hope you have a nice holiday.
Greetings, love.
Hello, I think we will benefit greatly from your articles. We took many notes from what you wrote :) Thank you very much for your efforts.
We will be in Paris next Tuesday; Our return is on Saturday. From Orly Airport we will go to our hotel at the Auber stop. If I'm not mistaken, we will need to use Orlybus and then RER B and RER A lines. Apart from airport transportation, we will only leave the city center on our way to Disneyland. We also want to spend half a day in Montmartre.
Is it enough to buy a 1-week Navigo card to use these routes?
Thank you,
Hello Ms. Sinem,
First of all, thank you for your nice comment.
Your route determination is completely correct.
Additionally, Navigo card will be very profitable for you.
You may only encounter a problem when buying Navigo on the first day because the box office is in the other terminal in Orly. For up-to-date details on this subject, I recommend you to also look at the Orly Airport article: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-7-orly-havaalani-paris-sehir-merkezi-transferi/
Happy Days.
This was my 4th visit to Paris. However, unfortunately, I came across your site on my previous visit. For some reason, I didn't dare to buy a weekly ticket at that time. After reading this link, we realized that the Navigo card was the most advantageous card for my holiday on Thursday, so 5 friends bought these cards as soon as we got off the airport. We have already made a profit with only Versailles and airport transfers. For 4 days, we made transfers in the city as much as we wanted and kept the metro bus lines busy. Paris is an expensive city, but for the first time I had such economical transportation in Paris. Thank you so much
Navigo is really advantageous for those who wake up every day. It's good news that you also benefited from this advantage. Thank you very much for your evaluation…
Hello. I also benefited greatly from the useful information you provided. Thanks. But these weekly navigo ticket days confused me. As mentioned above, it says on the website that weekly passes are valid from Friday to Thursday. In this case, when I go on Thursday, can't I use the weekly card until Sunday? Thanks
Hello Mr. Mustafa,
Weekly Navigo cards can be loaded last on Thursday. Therefore, you can load when you come on Thursday.
If anyone has managed to load a weekly Navigo card on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, please share your experience with us, because such a situation has never happened until September 20, 2018, when I wrote this answer.
Happy Days.
Sir, I will go down to CDG 2E terminal. Estimate how far I need to walk to the PER station for the navigo card.
Hello, please excuse my late reply as I was able to turn on my computer today after a long holiday.
Of course, I don't know the airport terminals by heart, but as far as I remember, the CDG 2E terminal is in a location accessible by a private rail system, so I remember that you will first get on that vehicle and then reach the terminal where the RER is located.
Happy Days.
(Scam Method by Paris Metro Officials)
I bought a weekly full use metro ticket.. (they especially recommend you to buy this card, of course, this has a dark outcome). There is a place to put a photo on the card, but the place where I bought my ticket did not give me a suggestion to put a photo in this place, so I did not pay attention.
The security guards in the subway checked the ticket and imposed a fine of 35 Euros because I did not add a photo to the ticket. My wife and I paid a total fine of 70 Euros…
I didn't want to pay, they said they would check the name on the ticket and asked for my passport... They looked at the table and realized that only the photo slot was missing.
They told me that they would not give me the passport if I did not pay the fine. I had to pay the fine. There were a few other tourists with us, and they fined them for the same photo process.
Paris without a Trustik ticket, unfortunately I had to pay a penalty on top of the ticket I paid for... Paris is over for me...
It's the last day of my holiday. I don't have time to go to the police and seek justice. We were completely ripped off.
I'm so sorry about what happened to you. As I tried to point out in this article, it is extremely important to paste a photo and write a name on the Navigo card.
I hope that this experience and your comment will guide those who will come after you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I will attend the international camp in Tullins Fures, France. It's my first time going abroad. We will leave the camp at 25:8.00 in the morning of July 3th. From Tullins Fures I will take the train to Paris Gare de Lyon or Paris Gare d'Austerlitz station. I will stay in Paris for 23 nights. I will issue your card weekly at Navigo Decouverte. Can I also get this card weekly from Gare De Tullins Fures Station (between the city of Grenoble and the city of Lyon) on Monday, July 2018, 25? Then, can I get a 30% or 12% discount on my ticket to Paris? Carte jeune I am in the 27 – XNUMX age group. Or should I think that all the tickets will be sold and buy the ticket online in Istanbul before going to France in order not to be late?
Happy and healthy days.
Hello,
The Navigo card is a Paris-only card and can only be purchased in Paris. Therefore, unfortunately, it does not provide an additional discount for transportation elsewhere or between cities. By the way, there are no student discounts etc. for foreigners in Paris city transportation, so you will have to buy regular Navigo.
Happy Days.
Good day, we will go to Paris as a family (4 people). Can we buy 1 card and four of us use it or do we need to buy separate cards for all of us? Thank you from now..
Hello, Navigo card is for personal use, unfortunately shared use is not possible.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, do they ask for ID or anything else when buying a navigo card? Another question I have is that I will be staying between Tuesday and Sunday evening, so the navigo card is the most ideal because I plan to use RossyBus to go to Opera Square and then take the metro to the hotel.
Hello Fatih,
No, you don't need to show any ID. It is enough to have a photo with you.
In a very low probability, when you show your Navigo at the controls in public transportation, you may be asked to show your ID to prove that the card belongs to you, but it is very, very unlikely.
As you said, the Navigo card is ideal for you and you can use it on RoissyBus for transportation.
Happy days and happy holidays in advance.
Hello, first of all, I would like to thank you for preparing your articles so detailed and beautifully. It will be of great help to us. There is one thing I'm curious about: In your article, you said it is valid from Monday to Sunday. We will arrive at CDG airport on Sunday, but when I read what is written on Navigo's own website, there is an article like this: 'For the Navigo weekly travel pass, sales begin on the Friday preceding the week of validity, and end on the Thursday of the week for which they are valid.' So, as I understand it, the ticket goes on sale the day before arrival and is valid until the following Thursday. In this case, will I be able to obtain this ticket from CDG airport? Will I be able to use it until next Thursday? I'm a little confused, I think you can help me since you live there too, thank you very much in advance.
Hello, I get this question very often and I went to the box office and confirmed the situation. The information I gave is absolutely correct. You can make a weekly top-up on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but your card will be available for use from Monday, so you cannot use it immediately.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
We will be in Paris with my wife and son between 4-7 July. I am very happy to have met Navigo. Thanks to you, I bought my Disneyland ticket very easily. I read the titles and try to make a program. I have a question, we learned that Navigo is valid on every public transportation except Orlyval, but I need to be sure :) Isn't it also valid on Bus Direct 1? Our hotel is close to Porte de Saint metro station, we will transfer to Gaite M13 from Montparnasse stop. I think it will be easiest this way. Do you have a different suggestion? thanks a lot.
Hello Ms. Ayşe,
Navigo card is valid in all municipal transportation vehicles; Except OrlyVal.
Unfortunately, Direct Bus is not a service of the municipality, so it is not included in it... Think of those buses as Havaş or Havataş services.
If you want to use Navigo, you need to arrange your airport-hotel transportation in a different way. Of course, the route varies depending on which airport you land at. Also, the name of the station near your hotel was missing, so I couldn't understand it. By the way, you don't need anyone, including me, for directions; When you type your departure and arrival point in the Google Maps application, it suggests a means of transportation.
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Thank you very much Mr. Ahmet, I did not know that direct bus was like Havaş, I also figured out the transportation route with Google. I got all my notes, thank you for all your articles and help.
Hello Mr. Ahmet;
We completed our Paris Disneyland trip on 17 - 20 May 2018.
Thanks to you, it was a nice trip with a command of everything as if you were traveling in Istanbul.
We landed in Paris Orly with PGS.
I wanted to give some information here.
Pgs usually land in Ouest.
It doesn't land on SUD. But be sure to ask which terminal you will be landing on the plane from or which terminal you will be in when you land.
I was wondering where I landed, but after passport control, I saw SUD signs all the time...
“So I'm at Ouest terminal” I thought and followed the SUD signs and reached Orlyval.
I got on Orlyval, got off at SUD after 1 stop, and got my navigo cards from the Orlybus bus stop easily, without any problems.
When I exited the SUD terminal from Gate C, the PINK colored area in front of me was the Orlybus departure point.
Thanks to you, I was able to travel without any problems, even though I had two lambs aged 7 and 9 with me.
Thank you so much.
Hello Ms. Gönül,
I didn't know about this because I haven't flown with Pegasus for a while, but it seems that it mostly lands in Orly Ouest now.
I will make the necessary information updates at the first opportunity.
Thank you very much for your information and nice comment.
Happy Days.
Mr. Ahmed, hello
I'm confused about which article to write under. Because your articles on every topic were so useful to us that I cannot explain. Thanks to you, I can say that we explored every inch of Paris. I have only one piece of advice for people reading these comments. Act only with the information of this site! My wife and I are grateful to you. Thank you very much….
(( I want to share an experience: we landed on the Orly ouest part with Pegasus. We focused so much on your article and thought that we landed on the Sud side... :))) We searched for the K gate in ouest for a long time :))) finally (after visiting the entire ouest part ) We realized that we were not in the water. We got on the orlyval and went to the other side. The navigo box office is at the 5th stop. We waited for 15 minutes for the officer to come. If it wasn't for you, we would have never waited and paid 16 euros for the bus and gone to the center. because all the information desks and employees said that the navigo card is only sold at the center!! ))
Thanks to you, we had a wonderful Paris experience. Thanks again…. I wish you luck….
Hello Ms. Birgül,
Your comment is so valuable to me... Thank you very much.
I never knew Pegasus had planes landing at Orly Ouest. Therefore, thank you very much for sharing your experience on this subject with us.
Yes, as you said, most of the information desk staff - for some reason - do not want to share Navigo Découverte information with tourists. By the way, I admire your determination in obtaining the card :) Finally, you have succeeded and you have arranged your transportation in the most profitable way, congratulations…
I am also very glad that you had a nice holiday in Paris.
I hope you have many nice trips.
I wish you happy days.
Mr. Ahmet, thank you for your efforts, first of all,
Even if we have the weekly card, it cannot be loaded on Friday, right? I wanted to ask if it would have any effect if the card was not purchased new.
Thank you.
Hello Ms. Esra,
First of all, thank you very much.
Even if you bought a new card or came with an old card, you cannot make weekly top-ups on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Thanks to the new application, there can only be one daily upload, which may not be suitable for everyone; It is necessary to make good calculations.
Happy Days.
Mr. Ahmet, first of all, I would like to thank you for preparing such an informative and guiding site. We were in Paris last week for a symposium. Thanks to the information you provided, my wife and daughter and I visited many places in Paris and Disneyland without any problems. (I would also like to thank you for informing us about the Fast Pass) Especially the Navigo Card was a great experience for us. We took the pictures with us in advance and even sized them at home. We immediately took our cards at the CDG Terminal 2 RER entrance, wrote our names, pasted them and started using them. We came across the checkpoint on our way to Disneyland and passed without any problems :) Thanks to the information you gave about the museums and monuments, we found them all and were able to visit them. Thank you again for your sharing. Thank you to your heart and hands...
: )
Hello Mr. Kağan,
I am very glad that you created your own tour program according to your needs and tastes among the more than 500 articles on Pariste.Net and enjoyed your days in Paris.
May you have many beautiful trips and many beautiful memories in your life.
Thank you very much for your nice comment.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
We wanted to thank you for this comment. As with everything related to Paris, you wrote about this card in such detail and clearly that we bought this card without any difficulty and traveled comfortably for a week. In fact, the lady at the counter did not speak English, we explained the process to her almost through sign language :) We thought that we would get to go to CDG airport free of charge on the last day, but even though it was not a strike day, the RER B line was very disrupted and we went by taxi again, okay :) We thank you for making our trip easier. Best regards…
Seray and Semih
Mr. Ahmet, maybe you would like to add it. Thank you so much for all the articles
A one-day navigo card option has been released. January 2018
http://www.navigo.fr/titres/le-forfait-navigo-jour-presentation/
Thank you very much Mr. Ferruh. Frankly, this option didn't make much sense to me. Because it may be ideal for those who come to Paris only on Sunday (as they will not be able to refuel for the week on that day). It does not make sense to pay 1€ for zone 5-17,80 to get from the airport to the city, but if you can take plenty of public transportation after checking into the hotel, why not. Still, I added it to the article as an option and made the necessary updates. Thanks again.
Hello Mr. Ahmet.
As of yesterday, we have solved the transportation problem very easily with the Navigo card we obtained in accordance with your recommendations during our Paris holiday. Thank you for all your Paris recommendations. However, when we told the information desk at Orly Airport that we wanted to buy a navigo card, they said that this was not possible and that we could get the card from Denfert Rocherau. We were able to obtain the card after going to Denfert Rocherau with Orlybus. But then we used the card a lot throughout our trip :)
Thank you again for your suggestions and advice.
Good evening.
Hello Ms. Tuğçe,
I'm so glad you had a nice trip in Paris.
In fact, the clerk at the counter in Orly has to give you a Navigo card, but I don't want to think that he didn't give it to you on purpose, he probably doesn't have a card left, sometimes it can be like that, but normally you can get a card from Orly. However, it is very important for you to inform our other readers that there is a possibility of encountering such a situation.
Thank you so much.
Have a nice trip.
Happy Days.
We easily obtained it from the ORLYBUS departure point in November 2017. When we asked the information desk, they said they did not have it.
As you said, sometimes they may not have any left; Of course, there is nothing to do in that situation anymore. Depending on the situation, it must be obtained from the next departure point.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
My wife and I will be in Paris for a conference in April. Your articles were generally useful for me, but your information about this card - considering the current exchange rate - seemed like a cure :) We will get this card as soon as we land at the airport on Monday. Thank you from now. I hope to share my good impressions here when I return…
Seray
Hello Ms. Seray,
First of all, thank you very much for your nice comment.
I hope your trip to Paris is very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to your impressions after the trip.
Happy Days.
We returned from Paris, which we went to on Tuesday, on Saturday evening, that is, last night. First of all, I would like to thank you very much for preparing this wonderful blog, Mr. Ahmet. As soon as we landed at CDG airport, we obtained a Navigo card (5 euro card + 22.80 euros for a week's loading = 27.80 euros) and used the airport throughout our trip. Paris - We reached everywhere we wanted to go in Paris easily and in the most economical way by RER, metro and bus, without paying any other fee, including Paris airport. I will keep my Navigo card to use on my next trip to Paris. I thank you again and urge everyone who will go to Paris to get it. I recommend it. Greetings..
Hello Mrs. Nalan,
I am very glad that you had a nice holiday in Paris and that the information on Pariste.Net contributed to this. It is really advantageous to use a Navigo card if the arrival and departure dates match.
I wish you many nice trips.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet.
We had the opportunity to come to Paris between 25-29 October 2017.
Thanks to your wonderful site (pariste.net), we explored it to our heart's content without any difficulty.
Especially the navigo card is a great thing.
Thank you very much for everything.
By the way, I'm Turgut :)
Hello Mr. Turgut,
I am very glad that you had a nice holiday in Paris, I am happy if I contributed to this. Thank you very much.
I hope you have many wonderful trips and that you visit Paris again one day.
Happy Days.
(turgut). Thank you very much, thank you for your efforts. I have a suggestion about site comments.
What if the comments were up to date, from the first to the last comment? While I was reading, I focused more on those with new dates.
You are right, but all comments have a chronological story depending on their order, and I have gotten used to this in the order in which they are written first, from oldest to newest. Actually, what you say makes sense; I'll think about it :)
Thank you.
We were in Paris on Friday. We got by on carnet for three days. Since our Disneyland trip was going to be on Monday, we bought our passes on Sunday evening. While we were getting our cards, the teller lady closed the counter and came with us to the vending machine and made us take all 4 cards one by one. Later, although we explained that we were informed by Ahmet Öre, he explained that we needed to load in the morning and how it happened:) We remember him fondly once again. Even considering the two-day Disneyland and airport return trips, it reduced our transportation costs by more than half. Thanks to Ahmet Öre, we recommend it to its readers.
I was very impressed by what you wrote, Mr. Haluk. Generally, the attitude of RATP officers is good, but I have never witnessed them being this helpful, I was very happy. Thank you.
This incident took place at the Pasteur station. When one of our navigo cards did not work at the same station, the teller closed the toll booth again, came to the turnstiles and tried it himself. When it did not work, he made our card work after some operations on the machines inside the toll booth. While buying carnet at the same station, the machine that took the money did not give out the tickets. This time, the box office attendant solved our problem by making many phone calls with the receipt we had and gave us our tickets. Although it was bad luck to experience so many setbacks, it was also fortunate for us to encounter such helpful French people (which are said to be very few in the world). By the way, this area where our hotel is located is a really nice, reliable and clean area. It is also suitable for public transportation. It is recommended.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, I am Erhan KAYIŞ. We have completed our Paris trip, we are at the CDG flight entrance gate. The Paris trip I planned by reading your website went very well. We also used the Navigo card to the fullest. Everything went as planned and I was very pleased with the trip and your suggestions. Thank you for everything, continue to be your follower. I will and hopefully I will come to Paris again.
Thank you very much, Mr. Erhan. I hope you got home safe. Have a nice trip.
Happy Days
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Thank you for introducing me to the card that covered all my transportation needs, including Orly and Disneyland, for 5 days in Paris.
Hello,
Thank you for your interest and nice comment.
Happy Days
Hello Mr. Ahmet; You stated that this card can be loaded from Monday to Thursday. I wonder if it includes Thursday? I will be in Paris on Thursday. Can I get a card in this case? Thank you in advance.
Hello Ms. Tuğçe,
Yes, it is possible to get your card and load it on Thursday.
Have a nice holiday.
Thank you very much. Actually, my wife and I have navigo cards left over from our previous trip, we will only load them. We were going to issue a new card for our friends who came for the first time. I hope we can catch up :) On this occasion, we would like to thank you for guiding us on our previous trip and adding a completely different taste to our trip :)
Hello Ahmed,
Our flight lands at CDG on Thursday at 22.00:XNUMX. We will return on Sunday. Do you think we have a chance to get a Navigo card? :)
Hello,
Actually, the Navigo card suits you very well, but I hope you can be at the RER-B entrance around 23:00 after getting off the plane. Then you have the chance to buy a card and load/load it. I don't know exactly what time the RATP office is open, but after 23:00 it is risky, let's say you can get it until 23:30 at best. Good luck :)
The batobus advantage of the navigo card is also extra nice. There is no need to consider any other cards.
Hello, the navigo card seems to be advantageous by far, you explained it in detail so that no questions were needed. This is the first time I see a travel blog that is this comprehensive and informative in a way that will interest everyone, thank you!
Thank you very much, as you said, the Navigo card is definitely the most advantageous, but as I mentioned in the article above, this card is suitable for those who arrive on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, but cannot be used for those who will start a weekend trip. That's why it is necessary to consider other options.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Your article is really detailed and descriptive, thank you, we benefit from it a lot, I have a question for you;
We will come to Gare du Nord by high speed train from Amsterdam on Sunday. Can we buy a navigo card from this station on Sunday and load it weekly from vending machines at any metro station on Monday and use it for 1 week, valid from Monday? Although we will return to Turkey from the airport on Friday. But as you said, I think it would be very advantageous to be able to use almost any vehicle without thinking too much and making calculations, especially at this price. You mentioned that there is no student discount on the Navigo card, but I wondered if there was a child discount, our son is 6 years old, but I think we buy it for the same price, although there is no discount. It is also possible because, as far as I understand, it is a very advantageous card. Also, you mentioned that the photo is in the size of ID cards. Will it be the size of our Turkish ID cards? Can you tell me the size in more detail? Thank you again for all the information.
Hello Mr. Yunus,
Yes, you can buy the card any day you want and load it starting from Monday.
There is only one price for weekly Navigo; There is no child/student discount
but as you say, it is profitable anyway.
Just cut it to the size of your ID photo; Of course, I'm talking about the old IDs, but there are also new IDs that are the size of a driver's license. I've never seen them.
Have a nice holiday.
I'm sorry. I forgot to write my name in a hurry. I'm Erhan Kayış. Greetings again.
Hello Mr. Erhan,
I'm out of Paris for a long holiday and I don't have much time to go online, sorry.
You can reach your hotel on Saturday with a one-way RER ticket and then buy 10-1 zone carnets of 2 to make it through until Sunday evening. As you said on Monday, Navigo will do the job.
Happy Days
Hello Mr. Ahmet. I have sent an e-mail before. I think it did not arrive. My friend and I will be in Paris between 23 September - 01 October 2017. The landing and departure airport is CDG. We will be staying at Gare opposite Nord yesterday. Which transportation card would you recommend for Saturday and Sunday? Monday is a week. We will take Navigo Decouverte.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Thanks to the site you prepared, we spent five full days in Paris last week. The best city guide I've ever read, thank you.
Especially the Navigo Decouverte card opened the doors of all means of transportation like a "lock pick".
Thanks
I'm so glad you had a nice holiday. Thank you very much for your valuable comment.
Mr. Ahmet, I have written my comment about the navigo card before, but one of our friends wrote in the comments that you should be applauded, and I completely agree. I don't have anything to say about the entire blog, but as a family that uses this card, I applaud it.
Thank you very, very much…
I wonder if we can reach the city center from CDG airport with a Navigo card and is there a counter at CDG airport that sells and loads this card?
Thank you from now
Hello, depending on which terminal your flight will land at CDG airport, you can obtain your navigo card from the RATP counters at the RER entrances in Terminals 1-3 or Terminal 2. As I tried to mention in the article above, this card can also be used for airport transportation. It is not only mentioned in OrlyVal, it is for Orly Airport, you can easily use it for your future from CDG.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Mr. Ahmet, thank you for your valuable information. I read your article from start to finish. In fact, I have read that questions similar to the question I will ask you have been asked. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are bad days, I understand that :) But let's say I bought my weekly card for CDG on Friday morning, but I can't load it until Monday. As far as I understand, should I spend these 3 days with a paper ticket? Arrival on Friday - return on Wednesday. Good luck. Thank you from now.
Hello, yes, as you said, you have to get by with a paper ticket until Monday, but which ticket you choose is entirely up to you. So where you will visit, how far you will walk, these are big factors; Even what time you will be in Paris is important. It will probably be best to land in Paris with a single ticket on the first day and settle in your hotel. Maybe it would be good to get a 10 grade report card afterwards, you can spend the whole weekend like this. Or you can buy Mobilis 1-2 zone separately for Saturday and Sunday... Maybe when you arrive on the first day, you will buy a 3-day 1-5 zone Paris Visite ticket and travel unlimitedly for three days. As I said, it all depends on your schedule. After Monday, your job will be easy, the Navigo card will make you very comfortable.
Happy Days.
hello ahmet sir
May the best of praise be to you. I'm glad to have you.
We will come to Paris for a family trip on Wednesday, July 5th. Our first choice in transportation is Abikide Navigo card, but on the RATP site, it seems that the documents and conditions for purchasing a Navigo card include a certificate of residence in Paris. (See. https://www.ratp.fr/en/questions/4621/?taxo=4621&faqid=1446 )
Another issue is that I think the Navigo card is the most logical choice for this trip, which includes Disneyland, for 2 children and 2 adults. What are the latest prices for Disneyland and CDG airport tickets for children and adults? Of course, it is important as well. I am waiting for your help in choosing Navigo.
As I tried to explain in detail in my Navigo Card article (see: https://www.pariste.net/2015/09/pariste-ulasm-18-en-ekonomik-ulasm-kart.html) no documents are required for the weekly Navigo Découverte. Just one photo is enough. The details are already in the article.
If you are considering a ticket for airport transportation and Disneyland transportation, the Navigo card will already add up to a lot of money. It costs around 20 euros per person just to get to the airport.
Happy Days.
Mr Ahmet,
Thank you very much for your information. I will be going to Paris for 5 days on Monday next week. I may be asking a different question, but this question is bothering me right now :).
Do the box office staff speak English? If he doesn't know, how can I get along with the officer when I say I want to buy a Navigo Card for 1 week?
Hello, if you get your Navigo card from the airport, you will most likely encounter an English-speaking officer. Even if they don't speak English, if you say "Navigo 1 week please" they will understand that much, don't worry... Have a nice holiday and safe travels...
Hello Mr. Ahmet, your description is so clear and understandable that I applaud you. Today (May 30th), after the Orly Sud passport control point, I found every place, including gate K, Navigo sales booth and Orlybus, as if I had touched it with my own hands. Thank you for your efforts, thank you.
Mr. Levent, your message made me happy, thank you very much. I hope you have a great time in Paris. Have a nice holiday…
Hello, do you have information about the card application, limit and prices on suburban trains?
Hello Ms. Aylin,
Suburban trains are priced like Metro and RER. In other words, it is more important which zones you will travel between than which vehicle you take. Tickets and cards used in all public transportation vehicles are also important in suburban trains. If you are going outside zone 1 or want to travel between other zones, you must buy a special ticket or have a valid public transport card or day ticket.
A detailed article about suburban trains is available on the blog. See: https://www.pariste.net/2014/05/pariste-ulasm-11-banliyo-treni.html
Happy Days.
Mr. Ahmet, is it possible to load and use the navigo cards we bought last year this year as well? Or do we need to reprint it? Thanks…
Ms. Şebnem, it is possible to use the navigos you have by loading them from the ticket booths or ticket vending machines when you arrive, rest assured 😉 Best regards and greetings…
Mr Ahmet,
Thank you very much for your valuable information. This will be a question many times, but I want to ask it just to be sure, with your forgiveness. When I come back on Saturday, is it okay if I fill up my weekly navigo to use starting from Monday? Will there be a problem? I wish I wouldn't bother on Monday.
Yours.
Greetings
You can buy the card when you arrive on Saturday, but it is not possible to top up on Saturday, you must wait until Monday morning. It's a ridiculous rule, but unfortunately it is the way it is.
Happy Days
Hello Fatih,
Thank you too for your interest and nice comment.
There is no restriction on which day it is for weekly Navigo cards, that restriction is for those who will purchase monthly Navigo. The limitation of Weekly Navigo is that it can be filled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, but cannot be filled on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. For some reason they did such a nonsense :) You are coming on Thursday the 20th, you will be able to fill out your card and use it comfortably until your return on Sunday, April 23, don't worry.
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Hello Mr Ahmed,
Thank you very much for the detailed information, your articles are very useful. We are traveling to Paris, arriving on April 20th and returning on April 23rd. We have round-trip flights from Orly airport and we are planning to visit the Palace of Versailles. I was thinking of purchasing a Navigo decouvert card, but you wrote above that it cannot be recharged for that month starting from the 20th of the month. If navigo is not available, which transportation card would you recommend? Thanks in advance
Is this card valid on the funicular?
Certainly. Valid for all public transportation vehicles in zones 1-5. As I mentioned in the article above, it is not only mentioned in OrlyVal.
Mr. Ahmet, I have read your articles, but if it is not a problem, we will come to Paris on Monday. We are 4 people, we will stay for 4 days. Our hotel is in the center, 43 rue des ecoles 05. Considering the places to visit, would it be more convenient if each of us bought a navigo card? What do you think?
If you are going to use public transportation to get to the airport, then I recommend a Navigo card, even if you come to Paris for two days. If you are going to come for four days, the most profitable one for you will of course be Navigo. You will make money many times over. Have a nice holiday.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, when we buy 1-week navigo, can we use public transportation unlimitedly for 1 week?
Hello, yes, you can use all public transportation vehicles unlimitedly (except OrlyVal). And as I mentioned in the article, this card can be used from Monday to Sunday, not 7 days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
I will land at CDG airport with my wife on Saturday, March 4th in the morning and return on Sunday afternoon. As far as I understand, we cannot buy Novigo cards because it is the weekend. Which ticket should I buy for a 1-day trip between Zone2 and the airport? Thank you in advance
Mr. Ahmet, you are great. I follow you with interest. We are planning to come to Paris as a family for the second time in August 2017. We come on Tuesday and return on Monday. This time, this card seems to be very useful for us. I think it is also used for transportation between Paris and Disneyland.
Hello, thank you very much.
Except for the last Monday, you will be able to use this card with peace of mind everywhere in zones 1-5, including Disneyland, from the moment you arrive. It's just not mentioned in OrlyVal, but I guess you won't need it either.
By the way, I also shot a video about the Navigo Découvert card. I will prepare and upload it for publication as soon as possible and you will be able to find detailed information there in addition to what is written here...
I wish you happy days.
Mr. Ahmet, thank you for your interest :) We are looking forward to your answer, best regards :)
I was going to ask at the box office, but to be honest, I've never been to the Batobus side these days. As of this weekend, I will be out of Paris for ten days, so I did another research on the internet for you: In principle, the card should be full, but theoretically it seems that showing the card even if it is empty is enough, but if the officer at the counter wants to check the validity of your card, you may be in a difficult situation. However, if you want to try it, if something goes wrong, you will be treated more understandingly since you are a tourist. Worst case scenario, you'll buy a normal ticket :)
That's what I was thinking too :) Thank you very much, by the way, have a safe trip :)
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
We read your articles with great pleasure before our Paris trip :) However, we would like to consult you on something. We will arrive in Paris at noon on Sunday and return on Wednesday/Thursday afternoon. Even though we had limited time, we thought of buying a navigo card to be comfortable. My question to you is, you wrote that there is a discount on batobuses when you buy a navigo card. Can we buy a navigo card on Sunday (even when it is not active) and get a discount on batobuste that day? So is just having the card enough? Thanks in advance :)
Hello,
One of the reasons why this blog is so rich in content is the comments that readers write and the questions they ask. There are so many questions that I have to sit down and research. Just like now 🙂 Because this question comes from a place where I don't work 🙂 It seems to me that the card should be filled out, but I don't know the answer clearly; I'll research this issue this weekend and try to get back to you by next week. Good question, my dear :) Best regards…
Hello Mr. Ahmet. I will get the Navigo on Sunday evening and fill it myself on Monday. Do I have to top it up with my credit card from the machines at the stations? Can I top it up with cash instead of credit card? Also, can I refill my navigo card from the card refilling devices at all RER or metro stations, or are the navigo refilling devices different? Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello,
While there are vending machines dedicated only to filling out Navigo, there are also vending machines that can both give tickets and fill out Navigo. All machines have options with some or all of the credit card / paper money / coin options, and there is no standard for this. So, some machines have some of them, and some machines have all of them. Then you need to find a machine that accepts paper money. Generally, all stations have these vending machines, but they may not be at every entrance of every station, you may encounter them when you enter from another entrance. However, there are vending machines in all major metro stations. In the worst case scenario, you can ask the staff at the toll booths next to the turnstiles to pay in cash.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, we will be in Paris from Tuesday, January 31st to Thursday, February 2nd. Do you think it is appropriate for us to buy a navigo decouv? Thanks:)
Hello Ms. İdil,
For those coming to Paris by plane, if you take public transportation to the city center, it costs around 20€ for a round trip, depending on which airport it is. That's why I recommend the Navigo card for 3-day trips (sometimes even 2-day trips).
I wish you a happy holiday in advance.
Hello,
We will participate in the fair with a team of 4 people between 18-26 January 2017. Our entry will be on Wednesday, January 18th from Charles de Gaulle Airport. Can we get a Navigo card from there when we land? We will have to stay in a hotel in the center and commute to a fairground next to the airport every day. What are your suggestions for transportation and even accommodation?
Thank you.
Hello,
Yes, it is possible to get a Navigo card from the RER station at the airport, you will be able to use it until Sunday night for the first week, then you will need to refill it on Monday. You can top it up with a credit card at any station.
You will mainly use RER-B for transportation. Therefore, if you look for a hotel on this line, you will feel comfortable. There may be hotels near Gare du Nord, or if your budget allows, if you look for a hotel close to Châtelet Les Halles station, you can easily reach the fairground and it will be easy to go all over the city for sightseeing. "Where to Stay in Paris?" I listed examples of hotels in this region in my article, I think it will be useful.
I wish you happy days.
The information you provided was really useful, thank you!
Then how happy I am. Thank you.
Hello,
It's a very nice article. I'm reading it one by one. Thank you. I have a question I want to ask. Are these cards also valid on buses marked Direct 1 etc., thank you.
Hello,
First of all, thank you very much.
These buses, which were formerly known as Les Cars Air France and are now known as Le Bus Direct, are one of the options for airport transfer. Since these buses are not a service of the Paris Municipality, transportation cards are not valid.
Happy Days.
I would appreciate it very much if you could reply to my e-mail, thank you :)
It will be first thing in the morning 😉
Hello,
Thank you very much for this excellent information, I was in Paris for a week and thanks to you, I spent very little money and benefited from transportation without any problems.
Endless thanks
Hello Ms. Sibel,
I was very happy to hear that you had a good time in Paris and that I had a small part in it.
Therefore, your comment is very valuable.
Thank you.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, first of all, I congratulate you on your holiday. As you know, it's a holiday and we planned a trip to Paris. We land in CDG around 7pm on Sunday evening. I want to buy a Navigo card there easily. It would be difficult to find one in the city with a spouse and children. Where can I find it at the airport? And will I be able to upload it immediately next week? With your advice, I plan to buy one RAR when I go to the hotel on Sunday. Thank you very much for your interest and effort.
Hello Mr. Ugur
Happy Eid to you too.
Navigo card is available at the information desk at the CDG airport RER entrance, but you cannot load it on Sunday evening. The officer will think that you do not know the subject and will insistently warn you :) Get your cards there by paying 5 euros each in the evening, and fill your card from any metro station vending machine on Monday morning. You can also have it loaded from the staff at the counter.
We hope you have a pleasant holiday in Paris.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
When I went to Paris last month, I could not find an office in Orly to buy a Navigo card. I asked at least 10 officials, most of them didn't know, and some said I should go to the south side of the terminal. Since I will be going again next month with a large family group, this time I had to ask for your help. I would be very happy if you could answer. So far, I landed at the same place as Pegasus and Vueling, and there was an orlybus stop right in front of the exit. According to the officials, card sales were only made in the south, so I was in the north(?). I wonder where the office is? If you remember, could you describe it?
Also note for other readers, last month I was trying to purchase a Navigo card from the office in Denfert-Rochereau when an intern approached to help. When I said I wanted a Navigo card, he insisted that there was no such card and literally forced me to buy a daily ticket from the ticket vending machine. I gave up buying a ticket at the last minute and got in line to try my luck again. I consulted the officer sitting at the desk behind the glass and received the answer, "Yes, you can buy a Navigo card here." So do not believe what is said, do not give up on the Navigo card. 🙂
Hello Ms. Ecem,
As I tried to explain in detail in the Orly article, there are two separate terminals: Orly Sud (South) and Orly Ouest (West) terminals.
Until today, I have always flown from Orly Sud terminal, the Navigo Découverte card is sold at the OrlyBus stop there. Of course, in rare cases, they may be out of stock. I don't know if cards are sold at the Ouest terminal, I've never tried it, but as I said, you can buy the card from the box office at the first stop where OrlyBus departs.
And as you said, RATP box office officials can sometimes prevent tourists from using the Navigo Découverte card, although they do not have such a right, this card is valid for everyone, local or foreign. Ask persistently 🙂
Happy Days.
Although I have read most of your articles, I missed your Orly article, I'm sorry. Thanks so much for your response!
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
On Saturday, July 23, my wife and my son (17 years old) and I will arrive at CDG airport around 14:00, and we will leave Orly on Wednesday, July 27, around 10:00. Which would be the most economical transportation card? Considering that it includes traveling comfortably between zones 1-5 in Paris (including Versailles) and airport-city transportation. Thank you very much in advance for your answer.
Hello,
Actually, it's hard for me to say anything about this, it all depends on where you go on which day and how much you like walking...
However, my general advice is to check into your hotel with a single RER ticket on the first day, then buy a 10 carnet and travel around Paris with it until Sunday evening. You can purchase a Navigo card on Monday morning and continue your trip, allocate Tuesday to Versailles (Mondays are closed), and on Wednesday you can easily reach the airport with the same card.
Have a nice holiday.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Below is a trip to Paris. According to this plan, which transportation card should I get?
day 1 Cdg-gare du nord
Day 2 and Day 3 lens (I bought the ticket :)))
The last two days..porte mailot from vincenses (where I will stay will be vincenses) and my plan will be to visit places like champs elysee, eifel in these last two days, and then on the last day, return from vincenses to CDG... I'm sorry it might be a bit confusing, it's confusing in my mind :)) )..Thanks in advance for your answer.
Hello Mr. Arif,
As I tried to point out in the article above, one of the most important criteria for using the Navigo card is which day of the week you will come to Paris and which day you will return. I recommend the Navigo card to those who will spend two days or more in Paris. If the date ranges do not suit you, the ideal solution would be to buy a 10 carnet for urban transportation.
Have a nice holiday.
Hello Mr. Ahmet;
http://parisbytrain.com/paris-train-metro-week-pass-navigo-decouverte/
As far as I understand from what is written on the site above, it says that weekly Navigo must be purchased by Tuesday midnight. I may have misunderstood.
have a nice day
Hello, believe me, after reading the article above, you do not need to read any additional information about Navigo. Maybe all you need to do is check Navigo's current prices, but I already check that those prices are up to date as regularly as I can. Since I use Navigo annually, this issue is under my constant monitoring, don't worry.
As I mentioned in the article above, Navigo cards can be purchased and filled from Monday to Thursday, but only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for the following week.
I wish you happy days.
Hello. Ahmet, my brother. You're very elegant. Very useful information. I will also be landing at CDG airport on the evening of Thursday, 28th. My first job will be to buy Navigo Decouverte. Transportation is key to making every trip enjoyable. Thanks to you, we met with Navigo Decouverte about all the concerns, from budget planning to vehicle hijacking, etc., that are important to us. I offer my love and respect to Mustafa Akman
Hello Mr. Mustafa,
Thank you very much for your nice message.
I hope you have an unforgettable Paris holiday.
Happy Days.
Greetings Mr. Ahmet and thank you very much for taking your valuable time to provide such detailed information.
I think I understand, but let me ask anyway to confirm. Does loading 5+21,50 weeks for this navigo card cover CDG-Paris roundtrip plus unlimited city transportation? If so, it will be economical even for our 1-day trip.
Hello, thank you for your nice comment.
Yes, you can use unlimited public transportation in zones 1-5 for the amount you specify, provided that you fill up on Monday-Sunday and Monday-Thursday.
happy holidays
Hello again Mr. Ahmet
I can't tell you how comfortable we were with this Navigo card during our transportation to Paris. However, the Tourist Information offices in Orly do not have any information about where the cards are sold, they show the loading machines. The counter at the Orly bus stop was closed. No one we asked knew where to buy it, but in the end, the attendant at the counter came from the toilet and we were able to get our cards. With this card, we got through our first few hours of inexperience. Then the whole of Paris was ours. There is also a Mobile Phone application for Paris Metro. Those who are going to Paris should definitely download it to their phones. Moreover, it works off-line. You can write your current location and destination instantly. route. Thanks very much for your suggestions
Hello Mr. Kadri,
As you said, weekly Navigo is a great convenience. I recommend it to everyone except the situations I listed above.
For those coming from Orly, it is sold only at the OrlyBus stop. If the box office is closed, you may have to wait 5-10 minutes.
Thanks for your comment.
Happy Days…
Greetings,
I'm writing to make sure I understand it correctly. The weekly card we buy on Wednesday is out of use on Sunday night, right? The weekly card purchased only on Monday can really be used for 1 week :)
Greetings,
Yes, it's weird, but that's exactly what it is. Because weekly cards are not always valid for 1 week. Whether you upload it on Monday or Thursday, it expires on the following Sunday night and you have to upload it again on Monday...
Hello, thanks to you, I bought this card and traveled very comfortably for a week. Thank you very much for your useful sharing.
Thank you so much…
Greetings Mr. Ahmet, I will be at CDG airport with my wife and daughter on Wednesday, May 18, at 21:25. I think I can get a Navigo card after this time, based on the correspondence above, but I would be very grateful if you could confirm it. Thank you very much for this useful site and your comments.
Hello there
As far as I know, the ticket office at the RER entrance of CDG should be open until midnight. Of course, if there is no maintenance work/strike etc... You can get your card from that booth. Have a nice holiday…
Thank you very much, Mr. Ahmet, for introducing us to such a blessing(!) as Navigo... :) This card is one of the heroes of my 6-day trip, which started on Monday and ended on Saturday. As soon as I landed from CDG Airport, I went to the Rer station. This card, which I received after waiting for a full hour due to a working ticket office and Far Eastern friends who were not sure what they wanted, pays for itself from the beginning by covering only the 20€ round trip fee to the hotel. No hassle of buying tickets or missing out. He had a master's degree in transportation and took me from station to station, line by line, allowing me to use my time efficiently, see more places, and gain flexibility of movement. Valid everywhere: metro, RER, bus, night bus, tram, funicular! If possible, tourists who come to Paris should erect his monument... Thank you very much again, Mr. Ahmet... :)
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Thanks to the information you provided, our second trip to Paris last week was much more beautiful and satisfying than the first. Especially the Navigo Card was very useful to us, thank you.
Sincerely,
Captain Özgür |
Thank you so much…
Thank you Mr. Ahmet…
Hello Mr Ahmed,
My wife, me and my 15-year-old son January 31, 2016
If we are lucky, we will be at CDG airport around 17.00 on Sunday. Our return is on 04 February at 17.
Can I buy Navigo on Sunday and start using it immediately?
As far as I understand from the Navigo website, next week's sale starts on Thursday, but is it available for use on Monday morning?
Thanks
Gürkan
Hello Mr. Gurkan,
You can buy Navigo cards for 5€ any day you want, but the days you can top up are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
So, even if you get the card when you come on Sunday, you will not be able to load it.
My advice to you is to buy a one-way RER ticket from CDG on the first day and reach the hotel (or take a taxi, etc. of course). On Sunday, you will only have time for a short Paris walk after arriving at the hotel and settling in. If you get your Navigo card on Monday morning and load it for a week immediately, you can travel to your heart's content for 4 days, as it will take you to the airport on the last day.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Have a lot of rest and holiday in our place :)
Very interesting, we did our typical Turkish thing, knocked on the windows and asked. They insistently said they were closed from behind the windows. We waited for a while and after 10-15 minutes, 2 gentlemen came out and headed to the car. In fact, before getting in the car, we said that we wanted to buy a card again, they told us to get it in Paris center and left. So we thought it was closed.
Yes, I think there was a climate summit. It seems that all the absurd situations happened to us. Fortunately, we now have our navigo cards so we can load them and use them next time we go :)
Have a nice holiday again…
Selin.
As said above, we mentioned your name a lot, Mr. Ahmet. Thanks to you, we turned Paris upside down in 4,5 days with our Navigo card. Even though we were quite cold in the November cold, we took advantage of noctilien (night buses). We got off that subway and got on this subway, examined the routes of every bus stop we came across and took a tour of the small city. In short, it was a very profitable trip, thanks to you. We cannot thank you enough. There is just one point I would like to mention. We landed at Orly airport on November 25, around 18.30 local time in Paris. When we arrived at the counter selling Navigo at the OrlyBus Bus Terminal number 3, the officers had their windows closed and were counting inside. We asked a lot, but they said they closed it. We couldn't get the card, so we had to pay to get on the OrlyBus. It would be great if you could tell us about the opening and closing hours of the navigo booths in Orly. Fortunately, Navigo was being sold at the metro booth at the Denfert stop where we got off the bus, so we immediately bought one of the cards.
Also, OrlyBus buses were not operating on Sunday due to the ecosystem application. . Of course, I don't know if Sundays are always like this. We were disappointed when we went to the OrlyBus stop, we had to use OrlyVal on the way back, but we were lucky again, Metro and OrlyVal were free.
We tried to go to many of the places you mentioned on your blog site as much as our time allowed. Thanks again…
Selin.
Hello Ms. Selin,
The reason I responded late to your message was because I had to wait until today to do research to find an answer to your question. I'm currently at Orly Airport to fly to an unknown (surprise) destination to celebrate my birthday next Thursday :) I stopped by the OrlyBus counter for you and asked. It's open every day until 12 at night. I guess you were lucky enough to catch a break because the box office was closed. Since that Sunday was the climate peak, OrlyBus must not have been running, otherwise there should be service every day of the week.
Thank you again for your interest and nice comment.
Happy Days
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
First of all, thank you for the useful information you provide on this blog. We will land in Orly on November 21, our hotel is in zone 1. On our return, we will stay in Paris for two days and go to Amsterdam from Charles De Gaulle Airport. As far as I understand from your articles, we cannot get a Navigo card. Which transportation card would you recommend us to buy?
"Mehmet"
hello mr mehmet
If your return is on the 22nd of November, you can spend two days with a 10 carnet, provided that you buy a separate RER ticket for the Orlybus on arrival and to go to Charles de Gaulle on the return… If you are returning on the 23rd, you can purchase a 3-day 1-5 Zone Paris Visite ticket for airport transportation. You will solve all your transportation expenses, including transportation costs, in one item and unlimitedly.
thank you and have a nice holiday
Thank you very much Mr. Ahmet, good night.
First of all, thank you very much for all your answers.
With your permission, I would like to ask for one last help. We will go to Disneyland on 25.10.
We also bought a bus ticket to go. I wonder if the stop mentioned below is in front of the opera house. Or could it be somewhere like the exit of the metro stop?
•OPÉRA : 8:40am – 8, place de l'Opéra
Thank you again for your interest
Hello Mr. Volkan,
The address you mentioned is right in Opera Square, opposite the metro exit. In front of Swatch and Camper stores.
Have fun
Mr. Ahmet, with your permission, I would like to ask for your help on one more issue.
As I mentioned, I will go to Amsterdam by high-speed train.
It says Paris Nord on the ticket, but Gare du Nord also appears on the map.
Are they the same place? It looks like the same place on the map, but I'm not sure.
Thanks
Hello Mr. Volkan
Yes, they are both the same place, rest assured.
See: https://www.pariste.net/paris-tren-garlari-2-gare-du-nord-paris-nord-kuzey-gari/
Hello there
First of all, thank you for this useful information.
Me, my wife and my 5-year-old daughter will go to Paris on Friday, October 23. We will go to Amsterdam on October 27 and return from there.
Since I will not be going out of zone 3 except returning from Charles De Gaulle airport, I am thinking of buying a 10 carnett. What do you think?
Hello Mr. Volkan
As you said, since the date ranges are not suitable for taking navigo, it will be more convenient to use urban public transportation with a 10 carnet.
Have a nice holiday in advance
Hello,
We just returned from our trip to Paris; It really went smoothly :) Our thoughts were there.. We turned Paris upside down with our weekly Navigo, which we bought in line with your suggestion.. What a useful thing it was! We remembered you every time we used it, thank you Mr. Ahmet :)
Wishing you happy days…
Hello,
Knowing that I had a small part in helping you have such a wonderful holiday helped me start this week better. Thank you for your kind comment.
I hope you come to Paris again.
Happy Days…
Hello, first of all, thank you very much for this useful article. Can the 5€ deposit be refunded at the airport on the way back?
Hello,
This deposit is not refundable as it is your card fee. You buy the card for 5€. Maybe I should use the term card fee instead of deposit in the article.
Happy Days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet. I would be very pleased if you could answer my question. I will land at Orly airport on Saturday, February 10th with Pegasus. And I will go back to Turkey on Wednesday, February 14th, God willing. What should I do? Navigo card or report card? Frankly, I want to go and explore everywhere in the city. The navigo card is great, but I don't think it would be appropriate to buy a navigo when I land on Saturday.
Hello Ms. Elif,
Yes, as you said, Weekly Navigo does not suit you, unfortunately. Other options are not that economical and I do not have a ticket that I can directly recommend, because there are many different options depending on how many times you will use public transportation and which regions you will visit, and it is impossible for me to decide on your behalf. But if you say, "Let me buy a single ticket and not have to deal with another ticket for five days," then it is ideal to buy Paris Visite. See: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-16-turistik-kartlar-2-paris-visite-pass/ Of course, it is not as economical as Navigo. If the budget is high for you, as I said, you should take paper and pen and make calculations one by one and complete your trip with different ticket types day by day. See: https://www.pariste.net/pariste-ulasim-8-biletler-ve-ulasim-kartlari/ Have a nice holiday in advance.
Thank you very much. You took the trouble to answer. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
An article like this was like a medicine before our travel plan. Although there were not big differences since we would stay for a short time, we came to the point where we could calculate even 1 euro due to the increase in the Euro exchange rate. 🙂 Thank you for the information, Mr. Ahmet.
Hello Mr. Kerem
First of all, thank you for your nice comment. I hope you have a very nice holiday.
I wish you happy days.
Hello Mr. Ahmet, we will fly to Orly Airport with Pegasus on June 30th and we will be in Paris around 12:00. We will stay at the hotel ibis budget Paris Porte de Vincennes. We will stay in Paris on June 30, July 1 and 2, and then go to Belgium. Since it coincides with the weekend, it would be more logical to choose which mode of transportation to visit the touristic places. I would like your help :)
Hello,
Unfortunately, as you said, Navigo is not suitable for you because it falls on the weekend. Therefore, you can buy a single ticket from OrlyBus for airport-hotel transportation and go to the center, then buy a 10 carnet from Denfert Rochereau to solve your transportation within Paris. If it will be a day where you will travel a lot and use public transportation a lot, it is also possible to buy a 1-day mobilis ticket on that day.
Have a nice holiday.
