Côte d'Azur (jeans dazür or denim jeans) It offers us a wonderful travel route in the south-east of France, on the coastline towards the Italian border. Côte d'Azur means "sky blue shore" in French Let me tell you, you can imagine the rest 😉 It is possible to visit these places in every season, but I generally say "NiceWhen to go?To those who ask "Which season do you like to go to Izmir? NiceThen go to” I reply. I mean, The weather here is like Izmir Since it is, you can think of the seasons accordingly. Winter is especially mild in this region. Of course, there are gray, cold and rainy days, but The weather is sunny most of the year. Of course, there are many things to do in terms of cultural tourism in winter. Especially, with a history of more than a hundred years and starting every year in mid-February, Nice Carnival It's a pretty spectacular event. Of course If you are thinking of a seaside holiday-oriented trip, you should choose a time period between mid-June and mid-September, but it will be crowded then too. Well, no matter which popular place you go to for a seaside holiday during this period, isn't it crowded?

"to Paris tour Nice Does it make sense to add travel?"If you ask, I do not recommend it, because The Côte d'Azur coast is a region worth visiting in itself. In my opinion NiceDon't get involved with Paris. After all From Turkey NiceThere are direct flights to. However, if you have limited opportunity to go abroad and when you go out, visit Paris and NiceIf you want to see in the same trip, there is of course a flight option between both cities, but it may also be useful to look at the train.

Paris to Nice a few days high speed train (TGV) There is an expedition. Trains in Paris Gare de Lyondeparts from and NiceIt takes approximately six hours to reach the central station of . I don't know any more details since I've never been here by train. The only thing I know, High-speed trains in France are very comfortable but a bit expensive. If you buy your ticket in advance, it is at an extremely economical price. NiceYou can reach . your train tickets TCDD of France one SNCFFrom the official website of that already has a high-level character.

If you are coming to Côte d'Azur by plane from Turkey or anywhere else, your plane Nice Côte d'Azur AirportIt will land in . To get to the city center from here L2 Using the tram line is extremely practical. Since the airport is close to the center, the journey does not take long and you can pass along the entire coastline and from a street behind the sea. In the past, it was possible to go to the city center with a normal ticket, but as of July 2023, vending machines will take you to the city center from the airport by tram. 10€ In return, you are forced to buy a special ticket that gives you the right to return to the airport. Instead of buying this ticket, you can walk to one station and buy it from the other station, from La Carte (which you can think of as Istanbulkart), which you will use for buses in and around Nice. The map 2€, then you upload as much as you want. Likewise, if you leave the airport and walk to the main street, 12 And from the driver of bus no. 2€ card money + 2€4€ cash Money By paying, you buy La Carte and scan it on the device, then you can load this card from vending machines and use it throughout your holiday. If you have the chance to get the card from the vending machine 2€ instead 1,70€ You pay the card fee.

And if you have an Android phone, you can use it without the hassle of buying a card. Android App you are loading, You can use public transportation by loading credits into this application and scanning your phone directly. But I didn't try this because I use an iPhone. iPhone users IOS App they can load But a physical card is required to top up and swipe iPhones..

In and around Nice with La Carte Nice You solve your transportation problem to a certain point in the surrounding area. Azure line ve Zou (zu) on buses, It is possible to go as far as Cagnes in the west and Cap d'Ail in the east using La Carte. loves Cannes , Antibes, Saint Paul de Vence, MonacoTo go to places like , Menton by bus, you should download the Zou application and buy your ticket from there. Zou Androd application from this link, Zou IOS You can download the application from this link. When you get on Zou buses It is also possible to have your credit card read directly into the machine.. This is the first time Monaco - Nice I tried it on the bus, as far as I know, the same is true for other Zou buses. If you are more than two people, it makes sense to buy bulk tickets from the application for an affordable trip, but if you are two people or one person, just scan your credit card and go ahead, don't bother.. Because sometimes, even if you buy a ticket from the application, the QR code on the bus does not read, and due to a system malfunction, you travel without having your ticket scanned. In this case, I don't know how you can claim your rights if there is a ticket control.

Oh, and don't be confused: Cannes , MonacoYou can go to places like , Menton also on trains Zou There is a naming saying, it is even the same company, but tickets for those trains cannot be purchased from this application, instead, TCDD of France one From SNCF's page You buy a ticket. Ugh, those French people, they love to complicate everything :)

French Riviera Pass There are also tourist cards such as, but these cards are advantageous for tourist attractions; or? transportation option addition When you buy it, it does not give you unlimited travel rights in this region, it is only valid on buses where you can use La Carte. Monaco, Cannes , Antibes, Saint Paul de VencePlaces such as , Menton etc. are again out of coverage area... However, if this card interests you, From the French Riviera Pass official website You can get updated information.

If you want to travel freely around the Côte d'Azur, regardless of train or bus, without borders and without getting confused (and of course if your budget is suitable), the most suitable solution is SNCF Sud Pass. It will be. for 3 days 35€, for 7 days 50€, for 14 days 80€ By paying, you solve the problem of transportation, regardless of train or bus. Details On the SNCF Sud Pass page you can find. Also There are daily train tickets. Currently per person 20€ and for each additional person  5€ is added. The ticket you will buy is valid from Grasse to Ventimille. Don't waste any time in vending machines, you can buy it directly from the application or the official website.

Of course, public transportation is always an option, but in my opinion The most enjoyable way to tour the Côte d'Azur is to explore the surroundings with your own vehicle or rent a car from Nice. I think. This way, you become much freer.

For those who do not want to rent a car Nice-Cannes -Monaco It is also extremely easy to travel back and forth between cities and even go to much more beautiful places by regional trains called TER (unless there is a strike etc.). It may be a good idea to buy your ticket in advance; Although you can go and pick it up from the station at the last minute, but in season there can be such long queues in front of the vending machines that instead of waiting at the vending machine at that moment. SNCFFrom the official website of I will recommend you to buy train tickets online.. You should also take into account that the flights will not be that frequent outside the summer season. I think Google Maps application is enough to keep track of train times. Moreover tourist pass options available for sale during holiday periods de From this page of SNCF  now to get started.

How many days should be allocated to French Riviera – Côte d'Azur? I think at least a week, even ten days if possible... For those who don't have the opportunity or just Nice, Cannes ve MonacoI think 3 nights and 4 days will be enough for those who want to see. But Don't just come to see Nice 🙂 Of course, rather than not coming at all, just Nice Traveling is also nice, but by the way at least Cannes ve MonacoBe sure to also see. If you have a car, you are already comfortable, if you do not have a car, you can take the train as well. Cannes to as well MonacoIt is so easy to reach, you won't believe it.

Well Where should you stay while touring the French Riviera? The answer to this question depends on your personal expectations, but I think rather than changing places for accommodation NiceIt is wisest to stay in. No matter how many times we have been to the Côte d'Azur, each time, epicenter as always NiceWe always chose NiceWe stayed in . If you have a car, it is a little outside the center to avoid paying unnecessary money for parking, if you do not have a car, definitely NiceIt is ideal to choose a place in the center of . Already let's go Nice'We loved it so much that after a while we started living here.  : )

Tour Program Recommendations VII - Côte d'Azur Guide Pariste.Net

If you have a car and will stay a little outside the center, you are completely free, but if you do not have a car and will use public transportation, there is a nice location in the center that I would recommend to you: Of course, it is the most ideal. NiceIt seems like you'll be staying somewhere close to the tramway (Avenue Jean Médecine), which passes through the center of the city and leads to the train station, but if the prices are too high for you, go to Vielle Ville on the east side. historical center not on the sideOn the west side of the province, in a location between the center and the airport, on the Promenade des Anglais and its upper sides I will recommend your stay. You'd better not go too far up there, though; I would advise you not to choose the one above the railway or highway (unless there is a very cheap option).

Booking.com

If you go to the upper parts of the railway for accommodation, the environment can get unpleasant, and the closer you get to the coastal road (Promenade des Anglais), the more expensive it gets :) Now, it's best to look for somewhere in between... For example Carlton Hotel, Ibis Style Nice Center or Hotel Brice Garden Ideally located in the center of Nice to reach everywhere on foot. I can say. If you don't have a budget problem, Mercure Nice Marché aux Fleurs and even Nice's most famous hotel one Negresco hotelsYou can stay in . Of course, these are just to give an idea. If those hotels are full or their prices do not suit you, you can look at nearby hotels on the map. Also, make your hotel reservations. booking.com If you are doing it via the banner above or this link If you make a reservation through me destek You continue to be 😉 Thank you in advance.

Well How many days should be allocated for an ideal Côte d'Azur trip? Let me tell you the places you should see first: Of course NiceCannes ve Monaco… They are a must, but what are my additional recommendations? When you come to take a beautiful trip to the French Riviera, you should definitely visit Villefranche sur Mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu sur Mer, Menton, Antibes go up to the mountains in addition to other beautiful coastal towns/cities such as Saint Paul de Vence, Eze Village ve Cagens sur Mer A must see even Grasse ve Soft Places like these should be added to the travel itinerary of those who have time. Can't keep up your pace to the Italian side pass by Ventimiglia, even and even San remoYou can even go to . Believe me, each one is more beautiful than the other.

Tour Program Recommendations VII - Côte d'Azur Guide Pariste.Net

If you are coming to Côte d'Azur for a week, I suggest you a program like the one below. Of course, it is entirely up to you to trim and revise the program according to your time, whether you have a car or not, and your personal preferences:

  1. Day: NiceChecking into the hotel and exploring the city. Depending on the location of your hotel, you can probably visit the tramway between the station and the beach and its surroundings. The rest of the time, always on the beach. Promenade des AnglaisYou can get sea air in .
  2. Day: Cannes trip. I think a day trip is enough. If you have time, return AntibesYou can even eliminate .
  3. Day: Monaco trip. If you're driving, there's a ton of places to see along the way. I don't know which one you can resist, but I think NiceIf you came to for a week, consider this day MonacoDivide it into . Returning in the afternoon or evening Nice's historical center Vielle Ville / Vieux Nice navigable.
  4. Day: A magnificent village Saint Paul de VenceA nice day to spend in . Actually, half a day is enough to get here. On the way back Cagnes dur MerTake a look at the historical section of , I think you'll like it there too. If you have time, you can go back to Nice and visit a museum, maybe wander the streets, or swim if the weather is nice.
  5. Day: Another beautiful village Eze Village… This is also a wonderful place. Beware of: There is Eze by the sea, his name is Eze sur Mer, also on the mountain top there is, its name is Eze Village 🙂 Before you on the mountain top Eze See first. For this Nice There is also transportation from the center by public bus. Details Eze Village You can find it in the article.
  6. Day: Villefranche-sur-Mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, Cap d'Ail ve Beaulieu sur Mer trip. Believe me, they are all beautiful.
  7. If you have time MentonIf you want to go to the mountains SoftTo see one more country go to italian side if you want Ventimiglia and even San remo Maybe their trip can be postponed for today. Of course also There is Saint Tropez But it's a bit out of the way. Even though I have visited this area many times Saint Tropez I went to it for the first time in the summer of 2020, it's not a bad place, maybe I would go again if it was easy to reach, but I'm not sure if it's worth going that far. If it's important to you, of course you can go. But if you're going that way, there's a place nearby. Port GrimaudI suggest you stop by.
Tour Program Recommendations VII - Côte d'Azur Guide Pariste.Net

Of course If you are going to visit the French Riviera in summer, you should also make time for swimming. 🙂 Now I don't know where to swim on which day. Niceswimming in the center of Antalya KonyaaltiIt is very normal and enjoyable, like swimming in . public beach There is also, beach style places too. All the coastal towns I listed above have separate beaches. As someone who loves pebbles NiceI like the east side of 'more; If you like beaches Cannes Or let's take it towards Antibes. The beach of Villefranche-sur-Mer, which you can easily reach by train, is especially ideal for families.. Although there are "beaches" as we know them in some places, all beaches are free...

Tour Program Recommendations VII - Côte d'Azur Guide Pariste.Net

Eating and drinking My suggestion is, of course sea view By focusing on meals. Nice in the center beaches They may seem expensive but they are very beautiful. Even in winter, you can enjoy eating and drinking on these beaches, which I like more in winter. Depending on the season, nice restaurants may also be open in Villefranche sur Mer, Beaulieu sur Mer, Eze sur Mer and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. They are also quite enjoyable. When you go to the Italian side, prices become a little cheaper.

Tour Program Recommendations VII - Côte d'Azur Guide Pariste.Net

NiceThe taste of eating at the restaurants in the narrow streets of the historical center of the city is different. It is nice to sit on the terraces in small squares and eat in a lively atmosphere in the calm of the crowd. Massena Street There are rows of restaurants on it and they are all beautiful. This street is already an extremely enjoyable pedestrian route. Of course, there are a few places I like, but the reason I like them is because I have more personal memories, so it won't seem much different to you compared to other options. Therefore you Nicein ; Sit somewhere you like, eat and drink, have nice conversations and try to enjoy life as much as possible...

For now, this article is excluded for this region. Nice, Cannes MonacoSaint Paul de Vence ve Eze Village I wrote your articles. Actually Cagnes sur Mer, Beaulieu sur Mer, Villefranche sur Mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, Menton I need to write separate and detailed articles for places like these, but each article means a new job that needs to be updated regularly :) Therefore, for now, I need to limit this area to existing articles. It would be nice if I wrote about every city I visited in France, but as I said, it requires incredible effort and I no longer have the strength to write new articles without a sponsor; It takes a lot of time to update the existing 500 posts 😉

French Riviera – French Riviera in the far west of this coastline known as Marseille I get asked this question a lot. On that subject, I would like to say the following briefly: I have traveled almost all of France so far. As someone who is amazed wherever I visit in France, for me Marseille is one of the three cities that disappointed me when I visited (the others are Le Havre and Brest). We can perhaps say that Marseille is beautiful as a city, but as a population you will feel Like somewhere in North Africa you feel. That's why I can't say that I like Marseille very much. Although I warmed up to Marseille a little more during my last visit in January 2024, maybe you will like it more. However, if anyone asks me, I'm not sure if there is a need to include Marseille in your itinerary when there are so many beautiful places to visit in France. If you have a Marseille program, it's that way Toulon, Aix en Provence ve CassisI definitely recommend you to see.

Tour Program Recommendations VII - Côte d'Azur Guide Pariste.Net

In my opinion instead of Marseille Nice and spend more time around, go to the mountains, Tendre'I, GrasseSee , go to the Italian side, Ventimigliaespecially Sanremo'Check it out, it's a really fun place. Take breaks along the way, breathe in, breathe out, enjoy life. Of course also lavender fields But I must admit, I have never visited a lavender field before, so I have no knowledge about it.

  1. Hello,
Thank you very much for the information.
Unfortunately, the link for the 7-day pass does not open. Can you update?
Is this the pass referred to as Zou Hebdo? When I get this card, can I use buses and trains in the Cote d'Azur region for 7 days without paying any extra fee? (Except the airport)
    Thank you

    • Ahmet Ore Reply

      Hello Ms. Canan,
Thank you very much for your warning about the link not working, I updated it immediately.
The weekly card I mentioned in this article is valid on all public buses and trams in the Côte d'Azur region; It does not take place on trains or, as you said, in airport transportation.
      Happy Days

My wife and I chose to tour Cotedazur for our honeymoon and flew from Istanbul to Nice. Mr. Ahmet's suggestions made our trip much easier and more beautiful. We benefited greatly from Pariste.net, from which bus to take from the airport to the city to where to visit and what to do. We went to Cannes and Monaco for a day by train from Nice. Trains are very comfortable and stations are always centrally located.
We went in November, the weather was very nice, since it was not the tourist season, everywhere was quiet and we walked around comfortably.

I would like to thank Mr. Ahmet very much again, I recommend the Cote d'Azur tour to all of you.
    Have a nice trip.

Your impression of what the Côte d'Azur is like in winter is very important. Therefore, thank you for your comment, Mr. Taha.
      Happy Days.

We will tour the Cote D'Aazur on March 20th. Thank you for your comments and information. Will it be cool since we are used to the heat of Adana? Also, the summer will be more beautiful, but it won't be too crowded in March. Right?

        • Ahmet Ore Reply

          Hello Mr. Emin,
Although I have always been to this region in summer, I think going to Côte d'Azur in winter would be like visiting Antalya in winter. Of course, the weather is mild, but the environment is not lively like summer. On the contrary, I think it can be a more beautiful environment because it will be calm and peaceful. I hope the weather will be better towards the end of March. I hope it will be a nice trip. Good luck.

Hello Mr. Ahmet, in which segment did you look at the 15 euro weekly card? I see 40 euros :(

    • Ahmet Ore Reply

      Hello Ms. Şeyda,
On the first day we were going to take the tram, there was a single price of 1€ for a 15-week option on the machine at the stop, so we bought it and used it for a week.

The awaited article has arrived, I am very happy. Thanks to you, my trip to Paris went so well that I don't want to go anywhere without getting information from you. During my holiday in August, I allocated 5 nights to Nice and 2 nights to Marseille. When I read your article, I wished we had flown directly to Nice. However, we planned to spend our 1 day in Marseille in Aix de Provence. Do you think this was a good choice? I will look forward to your other articles about the region. Thank you for your hard work. Thanks…

    • Ahmet Ore Reply

There is a very nice contemporary arts museum that has just opened in Marseille, it was not open yet when I went. You can visit there. Aix en Provence is a very beautiful place. You can also program Cassis in that area.
Have a nice holiday in advance.
