(Last Update: 01.04.2024) In this text It's a little off the rails, all together AmsterdamWe are going to… Actually, by writing a guidebook about Amsterdam to exceed my limits I didn't intend to, but when I announced one of my trips to Amsterdam on Pariste.Net's social media accounts, went to Amsterdam by train from Paris, and left the train station, I shared the first photo on my personal account. coming like rain "Which hotel do you recommend we stay in Amsterdam?","What time does transportation to Amsterdam Airport start from the station?","Which restaurant would you recommend we go to in Amsterdam?I was surprised when I saw questions like "" and at that moment, when I returned to Paris at the end of this holiday, I decided to prepare a small Amsterdam Guide.

You can find a lot of content about Amsterdam on the internet. This is mine mini guide My aim while preparing it is for you to get to know this beautiful city, which I have visited many times, through my eyes. Amsterdam is all about drugs and drugs from sexual freedom it's not just about To make you notice. Just as we were preparing Pariste.Net, Paris Eiffel Towerof, “Champs Elysees“of, Our LadyIf I'm trying to explain that it's a city far beyond, Amsterdam is far beyond these clichés, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. That's why I want you to get to know this city through my eyes and visit it after reading this article. Let's see if you like it.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

No, I am not going to describe this city as a rival city to Paris. It's been a long time since we stopped comparing cities and their beauties with each other. I prefer to experience the beauty of each one separately and enjoy each one separately, and I recommend this to you, too.

This article is primarily for those who want to see Amsterdam in addition to their trip to Paris and those who plan to spend 3-4 days in Amsterdam at most. It is not possible for me to write everything at once. Is it easy to live in a single city like Paris.Net? your shin, your shin to explain; Trying to introduce everything about a single city in a single article. I will tell you more about what Amsterdam is and what it is not, the places I like and can recommend to you, a few travel routes and activities that I think you should definitely do.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Amsterdam to Paris Eurostar 3 hours 20 minutes by train (Old Thalys train), a city like heaven. It is also possible to come here by bus: Flixbus, Eurolines and BlaBlaCarBusThere are regular services to , but I think bus travel is not a very bearable ordeal. Of course, there is also a plane option, but I think the train is the most practical. Buy your online train ticket Eurostar or TCDD of France one SNCFFrom the official website ofYou can have an economical and enjoyable journey by purchasing in advance.

Eurostar Fast Train in Paris Gare du NordDeparting from, Brüksel'to, Antwerpto and Rotterdamafter visiting Amsterdam Schipol Airportalso stop by last station one Amsterdam CentraalComing to; thus directly to the heart of the city You arrive, you leave the station and find yourself in life: This is how it is; This is the case in almost all cities of Europe…

Of course, you can consider coming to Amsterdam by car from another city, but Amsterdam is not a city to come to by car, because, as you know, Amsterdam is a city designed for cyclists and pedestrians, not for cars. That's why many precautions have been taken to prevent people from coming to the city center by car: High parking fee It's just one of them 😉 So let's explain our article according to those who will come to Amsterdam by train. If you were to come by plane where you will land Schipol Airport… Even though we named this place “ShipolEven though we try to read it as ", the name of this place is actually - provided that we read it with a slightly strange accent - "skipol” It is the airport. It is possible to reach the city center, namely Amsterdarm Centraal, from the airport in a very short time by train. Life begins after you arrive in Amsterdam Central.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Your starting point when you arrive in the center of Amsterdam by train Amsterdam Centraal Yani Amsterdam Center It will be a station. When you land in Amsterdam Centraal, leave the station building and reach the big square, this city is in front of you with all its liveliness. As soon as you leave the station, it's right in the middle tourist office is found; from here general information and transportation card It is possible to get it. In fact, you can also get your transport card directly on buses and trams. Immediately on your right, there is something you will see, perhaps for the first time in your life. three-storey bicycle parking garage has! Thousands of bicycles are parked in a structure arranged in layers, just like our car parks. It is truly an incredible sight.

What will you do after leaving the station? If you have a load, you have to go to the hotel. If your hotel is close, you can walk, if not, you can take a bus or tram. Buying single-use tickets is often unreasonable. Instead, it is most logical to buy a 1-day, 2-day or 3-day ticket. Daily tickets are valid for 24 hours from the first use, not until midnight of that day as in Paris. So the way of mind is one; The Dutch have solved the transportation issue in a more logical way :) Ticket prices As of the last update date of this article 1 daily 9€, 2 days 15€, 3 days 21€, 4 days 26,50€, 5 days 33€, 6 days 37,50€, 1 week old 41€… These tickets are valid on all public transportation vehicles in the city center. You must have your card scanned when getting on or off the bus/tram. Oh also Volendam If you are going to places outside Amsterdam such as Amsterdam & Region Travel You must buy your tickets. All current ticket prices at this link You can view public transportation maps in the city from the same link.

Of course, it is a fact that this city is actually a city to be discovered and enjoyed on foot. Of course, there is also the bicycle issue, we will talk about it when the time comes, but What kind of walking route will we follow in Amsterdam? Without beating around the bush, here's what I can recommend to everyone: Exit the station, dive into the city from the right diagonal, walk whichever street or canal you come across, turn in the direction that attracts you, walk, move forward and get lost in the city, among the canals. The key to visiting Amsterdam is that simple.

Because wherever you turn, whichever street you enter, whatever you do, you will definitely encounter something beautiful, a thousand beautiful things. This city offers you extraordinary beauty in this sense. Streets, "Old houses looking sideways“, channels, channels, channels… Everything is so fascinating that you think you are in a fairy tale. Especially those lined up along the channels. houseboats Isn't there... Although in Paris too Seine River on, especially Forest of Boulogne ve Jatte Island There are these houseboats throughout the city, but the ones in Amsterdam are not a hobby, they are a way of life.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

We can think of the map of the city as -roughly- intertwined "U"s (maybe "C"s). In the historical center that we consider to be Amsterdam, each "U" is actually a canal. There is usually a street between these rows of canals. Of course, in some places, these curved channels/streets are interrupted, so you may feel confused at first when trying to find direction on a paper map without GPS. You look at the name of the street or the canal and try to remember it. However, if you enter the city from the right, you have to turn left, if you enter from the left, you have to turn right. No, when I went to Amsterdam for the first time GPS in my brainEven though I trusted him very much, I was so lost that I still remember that situation with a smile :)

AMA It's great to get lost in Amsterdam. I'm telling you, wherever you turn, beauty awaits you. Especially if it is not winter, flowers are everywhere, and if you are lucky the sun is shining, the fairy tale you are in is just right. Even if you just walk along the canals and streets without doing anything special, just looking at the houses, shop windows, streets, details and people, your heart will open, your soul will be caressed, your aesthetic sense will reach its peak. If it is autumn, the yellow and red color play of the leaves, and if it is spring or summer, the many colors of the flowers will create a festive atmosphere in you. That's why I go to Amsterdam except in winter (Amsterdam is colder than Paris in winter, very very very cold) I only go to change my world and stretch the limits of my aesthetic values. And every time I go to this city, I am completely renewed.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Maybe you are not lucky like me, maybe the paths you take may not lead you to very beautiful places; Then let me tell you a little about what I like to do and where I like to go in Amsterdam: I've probably been to Amsterdam at least ten times, but until today, it never occurred to me to try drugs, nor did I ever wonder. I go to this city not to feel numb, but to feel in my bones that I am human. If you want to try it, I can't say anything, but I don't think deliberately damaging a person's brain cells is something I can understand. The choice is yours, of course.

I generally make it a habit to wander around the western side of the canals, but the eastern side is not bad either; because it is the biggest channel Amstel, located on the east side of Amsterdam. There are certain museums you should see in Amsterdam first: Rijksmuseum already legendary, Van Gogh Museum, a museum of contemporary arts Stedelijk Museum, the city museum Amsterdam Museum A must see place. Anne Frank's Houseand Heineken Experience – Heineken Museumof They already beat those who don't see; I've passed through the doors of these two a lot, but I haven't walked through them yet, you can beat me :)

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

It is quite costly to visit all these museums separately. In the past, there was a very affordable card type like our Museum Card, which was valid in all museums, but they removed the right to use it for foreigners. Therefore, you can get the museum card I Amsterdam City Card for tourists. You can check this link for current prices and detailed information..

Personally, my favorite museums in this city are, of course, the Riksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum... And also Hermitage Museum But I think it would be good to see it while you're there. Moreover, they allow you to take photos wearing historical clothes that you will see on the wall in a room during the tour route in the museum, that is the most fun part. I took the photo below in this museum as a funny memory :)

The most famous squares of the city are where the royal palace is located. Dam squareIt is impossible not to visit . The building we call palace is in Paris Hôtel de Villeis smaller than . They are humble guys... There are many eating and drinking places nearby. Whichever one you enter, it is full of life... There are many eating and drinking places. Leidseplein and another delightful corner of the city rembrandtplein You can reach all of these by walking. The most pleasant pedestrian street in Amsterdam is the one that runs parallel to the back of the main street on your right when you exit Amsterdam Centraal. Newendijk… No matter what time of day you enter this street, it is always lively.

Enter Nieuwndijk and walk as far as the road goes. First you will reach Dam Square, where the royal palace is located. If you pass the square and continue walking, the pedestrian path continues in the same way, but the name of the street is Kalverstraat is happening. This street also takes you to the flower market famous for its tulip bulbs. Flower marketIt takes you to the point where . If you want, you can turn right from this point and enter the flower market, or you can cross the street and continue on the tramway. rembrandtpleinYou will reach .

What is my one of my favorite shopping streets, which you will see a little ahead when you turn right from Amsterdam Central Station. harlemmerstraat'truck. This is a small but extremely cute street. Life flows here with all its calmness but also all its enthusiasm. Beautiful shops, designer stores, restaurants and cafes await you on Harlemmerstraat.

Whenever I go to Harlemmerstraat, before entering the park at the end of the road, I enter from the left side and reach the canal at the back. Right here is a tiny cafe that I love very much. Café Tazzina is available. My patisserie in Paris Sacha Finkelsztajn Just as it was a place I visited every time I was a tourist in Paris, this is a place where I go and drink a coffee every time I come to Amsterdam, and I feel as if I live in this city and buy my coffee here frequently. Like that oh my It's not just a place, let's just say it's very special for me, for us.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

I have a few more places like this in Amsterdam: Even though it sounds a bit cliché Amsterdam Hard Rock CafeI quite like . The location is very nice, it is by the canal and crazy waiters very fun. And for years healthy lifestyle on behalf of very often unhealthy We reward ourselves every time I go to Amsterdam because I can't eat good food, so this place looks even more beautiful :) Then, one of my favorite restaurants Garlic Queen I can say it is. Here everything but everything is garlicky… A small place, an extremely warm atmosphere… After eating here, when you ask for a bill, they give you a badge as a gift and it says "Sorry I ate at Garlic Queen” it says 🙂

Like Paris, Amsterdam offers tons of options for eating and drinking. Just go and sit down wherever you want. don't be too hard on yourself. I am sure you will receive excellent service in all of them. Especially if the weather is nice, sitting at an outdoor cafe on one of the canals and eating and drinking something, believe me, is worth a lifetime. There are a few small cafes that I like very much, but there are also big cafes. Cafe de JarenI recommend . I try to go here every time. I love its spacious atmosphere, simple decoration and life energy inside.

Let's take a look at "Where to Stay in Amsterdam?” topic... Hotels in the city center can be quite expensive depending on the season. 2 people excluding breakfast 150€ Unfortunately, I think the price below is "too cheap" for this city. Hey, what good options there used to be for 50€, now they are even 100€ an impossible price It's like... We were once in a wonderful location with a wonderful view. Hotel AmstelzichtWe were in . It was an extremely central, extremely warm and friendly hotel. There is no problem other than the stairs being very steep, but most of the old houses converted into hotels in the city center have such steep stairs anyway. If your luggage is heavy, these steep stairs can be a pain.. But especially if you choose a room with a canal view, you will have a view like the photo below. I would recommend this hotel to everyone if it suits your budget and date range.

Booking.com

On our first visit to Amsterdam NovotelWe were in . It was a little outside of the city, but an extremely clean and tidy hotel. Although it was out of town, it was very easy to reach the center by tram. By the way, a small note, if booking.com If you are a customer and If you make your hotel reservation through other advertising banners above or on the page You are supporting me 😉

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

I don't remember the hotels we stayed in on our other visits to Amsterdam. We have already stayed at the house of our friend Engin, who lives in Amsterdam, a few times... Well, of course, when you have a wonderful friend like Engin in such a beautiful city, you always go to this city by flying, not running. Amsterdam for me calm sepenekIt's a city that can be walked around from canal to canal, and it also means chatting for hours around a lavish table with Engin's family in his huge and beautiful house, and sometimes even waking up unable to stop the conversation :)

On such mornings, I want to be the first to wake up. The serenity of the house is already attained nirvana It lifts my soul even higher. In fact, once, I took the electric bike in front of the door and went to the island nearby, passing over the suspension bridge built for bicycles, and how good I felt.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

You can't talk about Amsterdam and not mention bicycles. Bicycle in this city mind blowing a means of transportation, or rather a way of life. At the beginning of my article, I mentioned the multi-storey bicycle parking lot. With bicycle paths all around the city, this city seems to be designed more for bicycle transportation. Bicycles have such a priority that if a cyclist comes and runs you over without even realizing it, while you are looking around and walking in admiration, you may be the one to blame :) Amsterdammers, who are extremely polite and courteous, can only be intolerant and harsh towards pedestrians walking on the bicycle path. So, whatever you do, always pay attention to cyclists while walking on the road... Do what the imam says, don't do what he does For example, I'm telling you this, but - just by the way - while I walk with admiration and gawking at my surroundings, I run the risk of being run over by a bicycle at least once :)

all over town rent a bike There are options for transportation and it is possible to reach every part of the city by bicycle. If you already have a bike under you king of the roads And you are. People even commute to their workplaces and schools, which are miles away, by bicycle... Apart from that, aren't there beautiful photographs of colorful bicycles chained to the bridges? This makes Amsterdam even more beautiful, special and meaningful.

It is probably one of the most special places to visit in Amsterdam. Madame Tussauds Wax Museumis. No lie, I never went; I'm not saying I won't go, but let's just say it's not time yet, places like this have never been my priority. in paris Grévin Museum consistency This is the museum where the wax mummies of many celebrities are exhibited., it may seem more interesting to you than it did to me. As you know, there is also one in Istanbul. Take a look if you want.

Of course, there is also the part of the city that should not be neglected. Red Light District Needless to say it was. This street where the city's public brothels are located and the series of side streets are also extremely interesting from a touristic point of view. Maybe I won't stop by every time I go there, but on my last visit, I stopped by Red Light just to have more up-to-date information on the blog, and once again I looked at the way the Dutch perceive life with some surprise, some admiration, and some mixed feelings. famous in paris PigalleThis is a place much beyond.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Amsterdam's nightlife is already a blast. Sex shows, crazy nightclubs, brothels, bars, discos how much anymore rut If there are, they are all waiting for you... This city is normally a very quiet and calm place, but if you see white-faced, red-cheeked people wandering around the streets shouting, or even losing their temper and running around with their trousers down, know that it is the British :) In my opinion, the ones who disturb the peace of the city the most are those with white faces and red cheeks. They are the people. Otherwise everyone here your shamelessness Even he lives with good manners, no one interferes with anyone else. Pleasant; The British do not interfere with anyone, but it is not acceptable for them to shout and create havoc in such a peaceful environment.

While walking around the Red Light District, no one interferes with anyone else. Do you want people walking around with baby strollers, or well-dressed husband and wife walking arm in arm? Everyone strolls along the canal where the street is located, on both sides, right and left. On the other hand, the prostitutes lined up in the shop windows were just sitting there, potential customers He tries to get your attention, and if they accidentally get along, the window curtain is drawn and everyone goes about their business. Then life goes on as if nothing happened. Likewise, in the city's nightclubs, Hetero, Gay, Bisex, Trans, whatever sin you can think of, is waiting for you with open arms in Amsterdam... You are completely free in this city; What happens here stays here.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Amsterdam is a strange place, a completely different world. There is everything here as it should be. Perfect harmony, perfect harmony. You feel free in your bones, human in your bones. Even if you do nothing, just breathe the air of this city, you are healing yourself. The people of Amsterdam, or rather the Dutch, have a big share in this. First of all, they are incredibly warm, incredibly friendly people. Almost everyone speaks perfect English. In fact, according to my slightly exaggerated claim, the English of the Dutch is much better than the English of the British and Americans. 🙂 They always welcome you warmly, are helpful and very humorous. It is very easy to communicate with both waiters and sellers here. While you are looking around as if you are looking for a place on the street, someone may come to you and offer help. These are the things I forgot about living in Paris :)

They are also very beautiful as a race. When you see the average height of the Dutch people, you feel like a dwarf :) I will never forget that I once stood on a stone in Dam Square to see a distant place. A Dutchman passed in front of me and as he passed, I had to lift my neck up and look at him like that :) I looked at a man and at myself on the stone; that moment is a complete dwarf I decided I was. Fortunately, my morale improves when I return to Paris, average handsome I feel it again :)

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

One of the most beautiful corners of the city is the one mentioned in every guide. Vondelpark (fondelpark). After the parks in Paris, this place doesn't seem magnificent to me, but you can still go there if you want. For me Singles, herengracht, keizergracht, prinsengracht Nothing beats walking along its canals and streets. Also, it may not concern you much, but in Amsterdam Simit Sarayı It means a lot to us :) I saw two of them while walking towards Dam Square, and I recommend the one at number 224 Kinkerstraat. The service staff working there are much friendlier, the place is much larger, and it is much more enjoyable to sit, eat and drink. Of course, if you come from Turkey, what I wrote does not concern you; I just greet those who live in Europe and miss having a proper breakfast outside 😉

This city cannot be described enough; I can't claim to be able to explain it all in a single page article, but if you're wondering what else you can do after visiting the city in all its dimensions, I suggest you go to the north side of the city. Everyone VolendamThey will say and they are right... To go here, you take the buses that leave behind Amsterdam Central, but if it were me, I would buy a single ticket. Instead of just going to Volendam, I would spare a day for this program and see other towns nearby by purchasing a daily ticket.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Volendam It's a small fishing town, just wander around and it's over in no time. The best experience we had on our first visit, manicure-pedicure fish What we did was put our feet in the small pool filled with water and get a pedicure :) Even if I thought for forty years, I would never have thought that I would have something like this done... Later, I saw that there were such practices in other parts of Europe. After wandering around Volendam for a bit, maybe sitting somewhere and eating or drinking, I recommend you go to Edam, which is -relatively- less touristy.

Edam It is also an extremely small dream town. Beautiful little houses, canals, flowers according to the season, leaves according to the season; A few small restaurants and cafes blow your mind and make you thank life for visiting these places.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

These small towns are connected to each other by a very nice bus network. If you organize your hours well, you may be able to see at least three places in one day. Free Wi-Fi on public buses It is also a special beauty to have it. But I think you should prefer to watch your surroundings while traveling by bus instead of trying to upload the beautiful photos you have taken to Instagram. By the way, I would like to remind you: The public buses in this region are a separate company from the ones you take in Amsterdam; Therefore, tickets you buy in the city are not valid here. You need to buy separate tickets for these buses. You can buy tickets from the bus. What about the ones I mentioned at the beginning of the article, which have different prices? Amsterdam & Region Travel If you bought a transportation card, then your card is valid on these buses.

What I would recommend is the third town in this area. Brands. This is a tiny place, this place is like a dream; Again a small fishing shelter, bars, cafes and restaurants lined up around the shelter. Delicious meals, delicious snacks. Life gifts you happiness with all its generosity; enjoy it. Who knows what else there is in this area; It is not possible to finish them all in one day. If you have any places to recommend, please feel free to write them in the comments section.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Of course, we also got to see the famous mills. For this, once when I came to Amsterdam for the first time, we took a tour and once when Engin put us in the car and drove us I don't know how many kilometers away. Zaanse Schanse There is a place like this, which is another dream. Once again, the tinsel canals, the sweetest houses and the most beautiful windmills. Even the famous supermarket chain of the Netherlands Albert Heijn's first "grocery store" The place that used to be can now be visited as a museum, which is another pleasure.

We spent a day away from Amsterdam, but there are still things we forgot to do in Amsterdam: The first of these is canal tour to do… I think if you come across nice weather, you should have such an experience at least once. Because sailing around a toy-like city by boat gives you a childish joy. On the other hand, you admire the Dutch. Then there is the famous “I amsterdamYou have to take a photo in front of the " sign. God forbid, what will people say? For this, you need to go to the green area behind the Rijksmuseum, but finding it empty is a problem. A more miniature version of that article is the city museum Amsterdam MuseumBut it was also in the courtyard of I didn't see it last time I went.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Then in Amsterdam classical music concert You should also watch it. I've had this chance a few times. The famous concert hall of the Rijksmueseum located there Concert HallIt is impossible for me to forget the New Year's concert I came across in . It was one of the most elegant atmospheres I have ever seen; Not to mention a magnificent musical feast. But of course one Opera Garnier not, but still quite stylish and much more humane on an Amsterdam scale...

The sense of art and aesthetics put forward by the Dutch is really valuable to me. There is a great aesthetics and a great serenity in everything they do, whether historical or contemporary city arrangements. They can produce both simple and magnificent works. As I see these simple but impressive works in the Netherlands, I realize how tired the exaggerated magnificence in Paris makes me, but let's keep these between us and not let Paris hear about them :) Also, I attach great importance to the fact that the people of Amsterdam continue their lives without closing their curtains. How comfortable they are, how they can live an aesthetic life in public; I also admire these aspects.

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

Yes... As someone who has written a ton of little things about Paris, I can go a little overboard and say this about Amsterdam for now.. If you want to know more about Amsterdam, please ask Google, not me 😉 OK, I'm trying to answer questions about Paris as much as I can, but since I don't live in Amsterdam and have only visited there five or ten times, my knowledge is limited to these...

Actually I would love to prepare a blog of 500 articles about Amsterdam, like Pariste.Net. But these things don't happen remotely; It may happen that he doesn't become rich like this. That's why life should make a surprise sponsor I have to be and settle in Amsterdam somehow. If this was what I wanted most in life, I would do whatever I could to make my dream come true, but for now there is no such possibility on the horizon. I am open to offers 😉

Amsterdam Guide - Amsterdam City Guide Pariste.Net

In summary, if you are coming to Paris for a long holiday (at least one week) Maybe you can get away here for a day or two, but if it's going to be a short holiday, I wouldn't recommend splitting it. Paris and Amsterdam are two very different cities; I think visiting these two cities in a short period of time is just “did I see? did I see?It makes you say; I think it confuses everything instead of leaving a deep mark in your mind. If you are going to Amsterdam directly via Türkiye, I recommend you stay at least two nights.. For those who can stay for a week, daily trips to other cities in the Netherlands can be added; It would be very nice. I'm out of Amsterdam in the Netherlands so far Rotterdam, Den Haag (The Hague), Hauten ve UtrechtI saw .

One of my dreams is to visit that legendary restaurant that is open every year from the end of April to the middle of May. with tulip fields awesome park KeukenhofMy aim was to visit and I realized this dream in 2017. I would recommend it to everyone. Maybe it is necessary to write a separate article about that place, but here are all the up-to-date information about this park.
from their own web pages It is the healthiest thing to get. Now all that's left is that fairytale village GiethoornAll that remained was to see; let's see…

We will be traveling with my wife for 16 days on 2019 February 2. It was a great article. Thank you very much.

    • Ahmet Ore Reply

Thank you for reading and commenting. Have a nice holiday in advance.

  4. I found your posts so nice that I found a ticket for Amsterdam in June 2017, one way is 190TL... I'm a little scared because I'll go alone. say what? Can you travel around Amsterdam alone? From Amsterdam to Paris by hoopp high speed train…

    • Hello, thank you very much.
I think Amsterdam would be very nice in June. If you have traveled alone before and traveling alone is not a problem for you, Amsterdam will definitely not be a problem. On the contrary, I think it will be a much more enjoyable trip, you will just feel like you are dreaming this dream alone :)
From there, whoops Paris, it becomes the second dream :)

  5. Hello ; We will be doing a Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam tour in the first week of June 2017 and I am already getting lost in your blog. I take notes of most things so that when I get there I don't have to wonder what this was or what that was. It's a nice article, thank you. We will need this information greatly in Paris and Amsterdam.

  6. Hello,

Do not be unfair to your article, I think you have prepared a complete guide. I want to ask something about transportation. Do you know the difference between the daily transportation cards you recommend and the "iamsterdam" card? That card is also for tourists and entry to many museums is free, including one canal tour. Is the card you recommend only for transportation? Because there is a serious price difference, "iamsterdam" is 65 euros for two days. Considering that we will at least take a canal tour and visit a few museums, which card do you think would make sense?

    • Hello,
First of all, thank you very much.
If you are going to visit a museum and do a canal tour, of course it would be more logical to get an iamsterdam card. The transportation card only makes sense for those who want to explore the city from one side to the other…
      Happy Days…

  7. Thanks so much for the article. You have been very helpful:)

  8. We are taking advantage of May 19th and running away to Amsterdam :) Thank you for the article. I'm sure it will be very useful. I got great grades. On the other hand, my heart is still in Paris. We came a few months ago, but since we spent most of our time in Disneyland, we left behind dozens of places to visit. I hope we can come again soon. Love from Istanbul…

    • I hope you have a wonderful holiday, thank you very much. You will miss Paris, please do not neglect this place :) Best regards, greetings, have a nice holiday…

  9. It was a great article, thank you very much for sharing it. We are planning a short 3-night trip with my wife. We just can't decide when. Do you think mid-September would be the wrong season to go? We were undecided in terms of rainfall and temperature conditions. Should we bring it forward? Thanks again, we feel like we're gone already :)

    • Thank you so much.
Considering that it has a colder climate than Paris, the closer to summer you go, the better it will be, but you never know, it's a matter of luck...

  10. You're right, it would be a bit unfair. I read this analogy on a blog that made me smile so much, I wanted to share it :) Zaanse Schans, where Albert Heijn's first shop is located; It is a dreamy place with its windmills and natural landscape.

  11. It's a very nice travel guide, well done Mr. Ahmet. Amsterdam; It gives people peace and tranquility with its human-scale structures, traditional, preserved city structure, canals and bridges. My return flight from Brussels was cancelled, guess where I'm returning from? 🙂 From Amsterdam of course… :)

    In short, my recommendations are:
-There is a free lunch concert at Concertgebow on Wednesday at 12:30.
-There is Hilton's Double Tree Hotel next to Amsterdam Centraal train station. Since this is a very tall building, the view is great. The price is a little more, but it is worth it for both the daytime and evening views in the evening.
-Albert Cuyp open market, I definitely recommend you to visit it.
-De tart von minterte cafe, very close to Heineken experience, the cookies and cakes of this cafe are amazing
-embrandt Square (my favorite square!) L'opera cafe here was my favorite place (fresh mint tea relieves all tiredness)
    - Located in one of the rare windmills in Amsterdam, Brouwerij't IT (fresh beer, produced by itself, dark natte beer is very nice)
-If you have time, I recommend you to see the city of Haarlem, which is very close by train. The Saint Bavo and New Saint Bavo churches here are architectural marvels.
-Festina Lente: A wonderful cafe with cats…
-Mash Bar: A very crowded trendy bar
-When we think of Amsterdam, we should not forget the Albert Heijn supermarkets, which are the Bim of the place. If the weather is nice and clear, you can buy salads and sandwiches with sauce and eat them by the canal or in parks (a pleasure I have never had in a luxury restaurant). Most people do that.
-For your cheese shopping, my recommendation would be Albert Heijn Markets. Follow the products on sale. You can buy De Willig quality cheeses at extremely affordable prices.
    Have a nice trip everyone.

    • Thanks so much for this great information. It would be a little unfair to call Albert Heijn BiM, I wonder if we should call it Migros :) I especially recommend everyone to see Albert Heijn's first store, which I mentioned in the article...
      Thanks again…

      • It was a great article, thank you. Even though I have been to Amsterdam 3 times, I learned many more detailed things from your article. This article will be very helpful to me next time I go.
There is a huge market right behind Dam Square, opposite the M.Tussauds museum, where you can find the famous Dutch waffle biscuit cookies at very affordable prices and fresh.
Also, if you remember correctly, there was a huge and very convenient outlet store next to the train station.

Thank you for your nice comment and additions…

  12. Hello. Your articles are very detailed and enlightening. And how right you are about this, train stations should be places where you step into the heart of cities. It was the same in our country. How sad it makes me, as an Istanbulite, to see Haydarpaşa Train Station so idle. We would love to see Paris with my son. I hope we get the opportunity to come.

    • Hello Ms. Elif, thank you for your comment. I hope this dream of yours will come true as soon as possible and you will make wonderful memories in Paris. I wish you happy days.

  13. We were planning a short 2-day trip in May, thank you for the detailed article :)
