(Last Update: 03.03.2024) If you like visiting places like flea markets or antique markets, there are places you will enjoy visiting in Paris. a giant flea markethaving i Marché Saint Ouen – Saint Ouen Flea Market A place just for you. What did the old people say: "If the old things were in demand, light would shine on the flea market?" But unfortunately, this time the old people could not tell the truth. Nowadays, there is such a demand for old things that the flea market is flooded with light; especially in Paris…

In my other articles, temporary flea markets set up in streets and squares are described as "brocanteI mentioned the following; and a luxury antiques market Village Switzerland you know there is. There is also a market like the second-hand second-hand bookstore. old book market There are, but Marché Saint Ouen is much bigger than these, it is an incredible place. When you read this article and look at the photos, you will understand better what I mean.

Marché aux Puces Saint Ouen Flea Market Paris Flea Market Pariste.Net

this first immense If you want, let me tell you how you can reach the flea market by public transportation: There are many ways to do this, but my most preferred method is M4. metro The last station of the line in the north Porte de Clignancourtto come to. And thus “Is Paris at all? ugly face no?" For those wondering to these endless longings We will have found a solution :) Yes, this area is one of the ugliest, most cosmopolitan and ugliest places in Paris... Even while passing through here and visiting the flea market, I strongly recommend that you pay extra attention to your bag and personal belongings..

You will understand what I mean as soon as you exit the station's "Marché aux Puces" exit. People from 72 nations, A thousand times worse than Mahmutpaşa They have occupied the environment in an atmosphere of similar consistency. “Muslim-Jewish-individual, athlete-elderly-tuberculosis"Whoever you are looking for is here! When you see the view you wonder, "Is this Paris?" I'm sure you can't help but ask :) However, in this interesting neighborhood, just to the left of the exit, there is an ecological cafe restaurant converted from an old train station. The RecyclerieI suggest you don't forget either.

It's okay if you take the wrong exit, The Recycleriein the other corner of KFC you will see. Here to yourself Touchstone Take it, turn your back here and start walking north by following the left side. Don't assume that the crappy marketplaces you come across are the flea markets you are looking for; That's what we thought when we first came 🙂 Walk straight ahead without listening to what strange people say who will stop you and try to sell you fake products; while walking Take care of your bag and valuables. You will see a bridge a little further ahead. As you walk towards it, there is a guy on the right. Total If you see the gas station, you are on the right track. When you continue walking and reach the bridge you see from afar, you will understand that this is the ring road that surrounds Paris. ring road… Here, pass under that bridge. You will encounter an ugly marketplace again :)

In fact, he officially left Paris. Saint-Ouento (sentuan) and from this point you have entered the borders of the flea market, but no, this is not where we really want to reach. When you pass under the bridge and cross the street at the lights and manage to walk a little further, there is a street that enters to the left at a 45 degree angle (Rosiers Street) you will see. When you reach this street, you come to the main place I am trying to describe to you. Paris's famous flea market is located in and around this main axis.

Marché aux Puces Saint Ouen Flea Market Paris Flea Market Pariste.Net

As soon as you enter from the street, the environment begins to change slowly. It's like you're walking around the old auto industry site in 4. Levent. But to see the best part, the place I like the most, go to the narrow street entrances between the shops on the right side of the street with a blue and white sign saying "vernaisonDive into one of the places marked " and find yourself scratchy Let the streets flow. It is impossible for me to describe what happened next.

Sometimes you will enter dead-end streets, sometimes you will pass through the same street again, sometimes the road will throw you out, and sometimes you will find wonderful little shops in narrow streets. that you have never seen in your life You will come across magnificent old items. I've been here many times and got lost every time. The aim is to somehow reach the place where the flea market is, and then there is no single route you can follow. You let yourself go with the flow of life and memories.

I go to the Saint Ouen Flea Market whenever I get the chance, but when I went there to do research and take photos to write this article, I will never forget the deep mark it left on me for the rest of my life: It is the toy that I have never been able to play with since my childhood, and is perhaps my favorite toy in life. Majorette brand "Developed for JDE" One Mercedes 350 SLI've been looking for it in all the antique shops I visited for years. I had no hope of finding it anymore, but it had become a habit and I continued to look desperately. Until I visited this flea market that day:

While wandering through the narrow streets of Vernaison, I approached a stall selling old toys and stared blankly at the toy cars in a case. Again, a lot of colorful little cars were just waiting for their buyers, but what is that? My yellow Mercedes was there too! At that moment, I could barely hold myself back from screaming with joy. I flew to the seller, asked the price, bought it immediately and took the photo above. It turns out how small he was; However, I remembered it as bigger :) Also, the seats of my car were red, while this one's was black; Well, thank God for that. Finding this toy car, whose license plate I still remember by heart - and for some reason in English - was one of the best memories of my Paris life. I would only be this happy if I bought the real thing :)

Who knows which children played with this car; So what happened to my Mercedes? At that time, I only had the right to buy one car, so if it was accidentally broken or lost, I would still go and buy the same car. In Kadıköy, in Altıyol, an uncle used to set up a stall in front of where the current KFC is located, Majorettes - "cheerleader" we used to say back then, actually "majorette“- Matchboxes would be in rows of boxes. Every time I go to Kadıköy, I go to Altıyol and sit in front of that counter. Like a cat watching liver in a butcher's window I used to watch my yellow Mercedes. Then one day it became mine somehow, my mother couldn't stand my pathetic state any longer :)

Childhood is such an interesting thing. So many memories, so many traces. What is more important is our past. As we get older, we are always looking for traces not only of our childhood, but also of our youth, our youth, and perhaps our present when we get older; At least I am. I think that's why I'm interested in old things and those experiences. Isn't it the same for you?

When you finish wandering the winding streets of Marché Vernaison and go back to Rue des Rosiers, you can find Dauphine MarketI recommend you to enter. Since this place is a giant passage with architectural features of the early 90s, it does not have an attractive appearance, but it still hosts interesting shops. The main theme here is old records, books and comics over. Of course, antique dealers, second-hand dealers, furniture dealers, clothing dealers and many more.

Especially there is a shop that sells old American objects, I admire it there. The old gas pump attracts my attention the most, but it is so big that one cannot find a place to put it at home :) This is the atmosphere of the 50s and 60s, the bright and lively American allure...

When I first went to the Saint Ouen Flea Market, I didn't realize that it was made up of markets with different names. I thought it was more like a chaotic place, but it turns out it wasn't like that; There was order even in this chaotic mess. There are different "marchés" in this vast land.storehouse)” markets are available. The days and hours each is open are different.

One of the two things that caught my attention the most in Marché Dauphine is the unassembled tiny wooden parquets of the floor on the upper floor, and the other is the one in the middle floor. UFO format single eye housing project. Even if you don't have a chance to get inside, its door is sometimes open; The interior decoration is also quite interesting. It feels so good to come across such unexpected things in unexpected places in Paris.

After visiting the Marché Dauphine, Biron MarketYou can browse around. This place is more antique dealers street A place like this. Wonderful paintings, antique furniture, giant sculptures and much more. As you go, you can look left and right on the street, and return to the street by making a parallel side turn. Of course, you can enter the narrow passages in between and go astray It's up to you 😉

Shop owners, most of whom are elderly and gorgeously dressed/make-up, are seated in their best seats, calmly watching everyone passing by, drinking champagne, reading a book or chatting. It seems like most of them do this job just for fun. How can one do business and earn money among all these shops? 🙂

So they are making money somehow, which is why hundreds (thousands?) of shops/stalls continue to exist here. There is everything you can imagine. As I said photograph, table, sculpture, furniture, book, magazine, newspaper, comic book, poster, record, chandelier, military equipment, kitchen utensil, musical instruments, carpet, rug, cover, toy this-that, everything you need is now available here. Your past is officially in front of you parade doing.

There are many places to eat and drink in this region, but sitting in a simple cafe to take a breather and paying 5€ for a soda is not a hassle. How can I say it for most places? tiki mi bourgeois is bobo I mean, these places have a very interesting customer base. I think you will like it.

In this part of the market, there is a place whose door opens to a garden converted from an old workshop. How should I put it, it is a very shabby, yet beautiful place where you can enjoy beer and potatoes. The nice thing is that there is also a contemporary art gallery here. You have the chance to see beautiful contemporary works of art in a giant old workshop.

Then you can leave there and walk a little further inland along Rue des Rosiers and turn left at Rue Paul Bert, another beautiful market place here. Paul Bert Serpette MarketYou can visit .. When you enter the street, on the right, there is a row of houses whose exteriors are covered with ivy. The view inside one of them is unforgettable:

In one of these houses, there are interesting exotic stuffed animals, is exhibited in a wonderful, lush atmosphere. Yes, it hurts to see animals like that, but I have to say that the view is impressive. Because it is not just about the beauty of the animals on display, but also the decoration is very interesting.

Unfortunately, like in many places, photography is prohibited here, so I could not take any photos, but if you are interested in stuffed animals, you can visit the one in a more central location in Paris. Design and NatureI suggest you go and have a look. Both Design and Nature There are also photos of these animals in my article.

To finish visiting the flea market and return to Paris city center, you will go through those unpleasant roads again and take number 4. metro You need to reach the line. Once, while we were walking on the road, we saw 85 numbered municipal bus It passes from here, via Rue des Rosiers. So, if you wish, you can walk directly to avoid walking in those unpleasant places. Luxembourg Gardenbus departing from, Hôtel de Ville ve Grands Boulevards  It passes by and reaches directly to the heart of the flea market. Although the journey may take a little longer, it may be the cleanest way. The name of the stop you need to get off at is “Flea market (magshah that bastard)" well Flea market...

If you wish, also During Pandemic Days, on Sunday, March 7, 2021 Pariste.Net Tv Youtube Channel What I did via the following live stream You can get an idea about this giant marketplace by watching:

As you can see, on the streets now brocante You don't have to chase 😉 If you don't get lazy and can afford to travel this somewhat arduous and somewhat unpleasant path, you will have the chance to come here and see a unique flea market and special antique shops. Please note that you can visit the Marché aux Puces – Saint Ouen Flea Market only on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Open until noon on Fridays. In fact, in my opinion, it would be better if you go on Saturday or Sunday. It gets a little more secluded in August. • Hello,
Open only on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Whether some stores are open or closed depends entirely on chance; That is, it is up to the shop owners' discretion, but since it is a very large place, there will be many places open that will interest you.
I think it will be largely closed on January 1, May 1, and December 25, which are public holidays.

    • Mr. Ahmet, is there a blogger that I am so grateful to know/read? no there's not. By the way, I also loved your article on Jules Verne. This year we devoted our entire holiday to Paris. Let's see what advice we can follow in 20 days. Ugh, should we rent a car?

    • What a nice comment, thank you very much Ms. Şebnem.
It would be great to rent a car to go out of Paris, but if your hotel is in the city center, you will have to allocate a serious budget for parking :) These are difficult tasks, difficult decisions :) Public transportation is actually quite logical; I didn't know :)
I wish you a happy holiday in advance…

  1. Hello :) This was the last article of yours that I read, I was wondering if there were any left that I didn't read, I think there are one or two :) First of all, I consider myself lucky to have come across your site. I wish I had known about it before, so that I could have had time to read what you wrote over a coffee without rushing, taking notes with a notebook in hand. .Of course, this will happen, but after our trip to Paris :) Yes, my daughter and I are joining the tourist caravan to see Paris. After the stress of looking for a gift for my daughter's 18th birthday, Disneyland was what came to my mind. I said yes, you are leaving childhood, not without going to the fairy tale world :) Although for myself, I would be a shame if I wanted to too :))) I'll watch from the sidelines just to make my daughter happy :))) Thank you for your wonderful articles and all the important information you share! Thanks to you, I said it's okay, I can go to Paris and come back without any problems. I like to plan all our trips myself, yes, I can say that I can be comfortable with tours. No, but for some reason I don't want to depend on anyone or timetables (except for the stress of flight time and going to the airport, of course). That's why your guidance is extremely useful. Thank you!
I love flea markets, I wish I had time, I would definitely go there. However, since the first plan was Disneyland, we will stay in a hotel close to there for three days. I made a reservation for three days and I thought it would be impossible to return without seeing Paris while we were there, this time I made a change in the plan and spent one day rushing around Disneyland and the rest. We will use the time as Paris :))) Naturally, staying in a hotel close to Disneyland for three nights is too much even for me to see all the places you mentioned in your articles :)) The flea market, like many other places, is another spring :)) Two years ago, I visited a flea market in Germany a lot in my childhood. I had the same excitement when I saw my favorite wooden toys. I bought them immediately and became the happiest person in the world :) I feel happy every time I see them in my room.
I have been on your site for three days whenever I had the chance, I wrote and drew, I thought everything was okay, is there anything missing, but for some reason I have a feeling that there is something. What could it be, of course, what to wear in Paris, packing a suitcase, oops :))) Here's one more topic for you, yes, it's a joke, of course :) As a Turkish woman, I carried half of my wardrobe with me for many years, until I started living in Germany. I remember that in four years, my suitcase weighed 30 kg, first 25, then 20, and finally decreased to 11 kg. We did not switch to a backpack, hopefully we will do that too :) It's a nice one. I read a saying, traveling around Paris with old Convers is better than sitting at home with new ones,, – I don't know if the saying was exactly like that, but it's very true :)) Anyway, one or two t-shirts, a pair of shorts and a pair of sneakers will probably be enough for 3 days. I wonder how much work there is to do :)) You keep writing so we can be happy too :)))

    • Hello Ms. Nesrin,
Since I was on holiday outside of Paris last week, I can only reply to your message, please excuse me. It would not be possible to reply to such a nice comment from my mobile phone, so I waited to return to Paris.
You wrote it so beautifully, I was as happy reading it now as it was when I first read it, thank you.
Yes, Disneyland is a must-see place, it will be good to see it once. Flea markets, especially this one, are a must-see, a true paradise, especially for those with special interests. But please don't worry about seeing everywhere at once, Paris is not a place to visit once, you will visit Paris many times. I've been to Paris many times as a tourist, and I've been living here since March 2012, but I still haven't finished it, so rest assured :)
Packing is a bit complicated :) In principle, I try to go on my holidays with my smallest suitcase and, if possible, my backpack. As few items, as little burden as possible. I feel lighter every time, just like you. Well, the only problem is winter or cold weather, but dressing thinly in layers is the solution and you should definitely have something to wrap around your neck as a precaution :)
I hope the weather will be nice during your trip and you will have a wonderful holiday in Paris.
      I wish you happy days.

    • Hello Mr. Ahmet,

I'm sorry, but I'll be honest, I checked a few times to see if there was a reply :))) I couldn't write to you immediately to thank you for your reply, I was in Paris :)))
The weather was perfect and we were very lucky. On the first day, we got our Navigo cards as soon as we settled in the hotel and we walked around for 8 hours, starting from the Arc of Triumpf, following your three-day program in Paris as much as possible :) We did the closing, watching the Eifell tower from Trokadero square and going to its feet. On the second day, we spent 12 hours in Disneyland. We wandered around.Disneyland, oh my God, it's a world of fairy tales, I went back to my childhood, I experienced indescribable emotions and I said yes; it should be on the list of things to do before I die, - definitely! On the third day, we wandered into the streets of Paris, the first target was Le Marais, again upon your advice, of course :) Street by street cafe We wandered around cafes. We ate and drank wine in the market place. From there, we paid our Navigo cards and took the metro to join the Sean River boat tours. We toured the Sean River and it was wonderful. We left the touristic trip behind and hit the streets of Paris again :)))) Anyway, I won't go into too much detail here. You described Paris so well that I can say that we visited it thanks to you. Maybe we couldn't do or see everything, but we will be back :)) By the way, we had the chance to see both sides, as you know, we are tourists walking until our feet hurt, but then I can recognize the city :) One is Paris with the smell of Perfume, the other one smells of Curry and Kebab. Paris:)) To say I loved its historical texture would be an understatement. We couldn't see the Mona Lisa, but we visited the Louvre Museum from outside. We wrote it and the Notre Dame church on our first to-do list for our next visit and returned.
I still smell Paris in my nose :))
      Yours,

    • I am very glad that you had a nice holiday, and thank you for your nice comment. I hope you come to Paris again as soon as possible, love and greetings...
