(Last Update: 03.09.2024) In this article, we will get to know the last and most beautiful of our trilogy of passages on the Rue des Petits Champs. I think this is the most magnificent and impressive passage in Paris: Vivienne Passage – Galerie Vivienne...
I don't know what to write or say about this passage; It is such a beautiful and impressive place; Actually just put pictures and say “Be sure to see this place" is enough for me to say 🙂 If you wish, my Youtube channel Pariste.Net TVIn which I introduce two other passages along with this passage, below: Paris Passages – II. Section the video Watch it, you will understand better what I mean:
As you can see, all the Paris passages are beautiful, but as I said in the video, I think the most beautiful one is the Vivienne Passage – Galerie Vivienne… 1823in “The most beautiful passage in ParisGalerie Vivienne, whose construction started with the claim of " 1826It was put into use in and has maintained this title since then…
For a while, the luxury stores inside Champs Elyséesto and MadeleineAlthough it lost its popularity as a result of its move to , it later revived and became a frequent destination for Parisians.
When you arrive at the Rue des Petits Champs entrance of the passage, "Bistrot Vivienne", located on both sides of the main door, will welcome you with all its charm. If you have time, you can sit here and take a breather while having a drink, or you can save it for the end of your trip.
I'm sure your eyes will be dazzled the moment you enter the passage through the door in the middle. The tables and chairs of the cafes in the small square, the decoration, the floor mosaics, the sparkle of the glass ceiling, everything is so aesthetic. It's easy to lose yourself...
If you wish, you can sit here and have a good time, but as I always say, One of the biggest problems in Paris You need to have a few stomachs and a pretty fat wallet to eat and drink wherever you like; That's why you should do whatever you can to save our appetite for our favorite place :)
176 meters As you move further into the passage, you pass through a -relatively- narrow passage and continue on your way. There is a very nice hairdresser at this point; There is a wonderful florist on the left... I recommend you to also look at the bridal shop on the right, a little ahead. You look at it and you see a beautiful model.
On the way, you will see a short corridor turning to the right. You can go in and out of there if you want, but don't go out the door. Or, if you want to go out, I don't know :) No, I think you should continue walking straight along the corridor; You will reach the stairs. When you go down a few steps here, you will come to one of my favorite parts of the Vivienne Passage.
There is a delightful bookstore right next to you. The postcards as well as the books sold here are original. It is possible to find English books, albeit a small number. I love poking through the books on the counter whenever I pass by. By the way, if you are interested in old books, I can recommend Secondhand Books Bazaar – Le Marché du Livre Ancien It will happen. If you go there on a weekend, I believe it will be an enjoyable trip.
Another beautiful shop in this small square is the one on the right side when you descend the stairs, where all kinds of accessories and souvenirs are sold. I love watching the showcase of this place. Especially the Christmas in Paris The time is so beautiful; Maybe you might want to go in and take a look.
From this point, the Vivienne Passage bends to the left. There are also interesting stores and shops. One of the things that caught my attention is the toy store selling wooden toys and the care center, which is a kind of SPA. I seriously wonder how these places make money. They have been there for years and whenever I pass through their doors, I see -almost- no one inside :)
When you reach the end of this corridor, you will see one of the most magnificent libraries in Paris. Richelieu Building of the National Library of France welcomes. It's a little difficult to understand its magnificence from the outside, but believe me, the inside is magnificent. If you exit this door and turn right Stock Exchange – La Bourse You reach the side. If you turn left Colbert Passage ve Palais Royal It's waiting for you, but I think you should do nothing and go back and walk the Vivienne Passage in reverse once again and return to the point where you started.
When you get back to where you first started, go out the main door and turn left. Square of Victories – Place des Victoires and from there Châtelet You reach the side. You're already right below Palais Royal and behind that Louvre Museum there is. If you turn right and walk Colbert Passage, then famous library BNF Richelieu and onwards Choiseul Passage will be waiting for you. If you continue straight ahead, the road will take you Place VendômeIt takes you up to .
To take the direct metro to Vivienne Passage M3 metro All you have to do is get off at the "Bourse" station of the line and walk down. While I was visiting the three passages in this area, Choiseul Passageand then Colbert PassageI'm traveling around; I am saving the most beautiful one, the Vivienne Passage, for last; I recommend it to you too 😉
Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries.
