(Last Update: 11.01.2026) If there is a place in Paris that I love more than Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, BHV and Samaritaine in terms of department stores, it is Le Bon Marché. Being located in Rive Gauche, it is a store that is -relatively- less touristy, appeals more to the elite of this region, and is as luxurious as possible, but it also has the same level of service, presentation and service.

(Last Update: 07.01.2026) In Paris, the only place where I could understand even the most level-headed woman losing control and wanting to shop wildly is probably Galeries Lafayette... Similar to YKM Boyner in Turkey, or rather, Harrods in London, Galeries Lafayette, as far as I know, was the first department store in the world to operate as such, and as you might expect, it caters more to tourists than to Parisians.
