(Last Update: 09.01.2026) The biggest longing of an Istanbulite living in Paris is not being able to eat or drink while overlooking the Bosphorus and not being able to chat with friends. I have passed through the Bosphorus and the sea, I am even willing to sit by the water and eat and drink something, but there is no such culture of life in Paris, as in almost all of Europe. I think cities built on river banks are protected against possible floods.

(Last Update: 09.01.2026) Bassin de la Villette (basen dö la vilet), located at the northernmost point of Canal Saint-Martin and the largest artificial pond in Paris, has had an important place in the lives of Parisians since 1808. During the years it was built, the Saint Martin Canal was a passageway, waiting, loading and unloading area between Canal Saint-Martin, Canal de l'Ourcq and Canal Saint-Denis.
