(Last Update: 10.09.2024) If you are one of those who love stationery products like me, this article is for you. This time to a nice stationery store in Paris, or rather stationery and art supplies somewhere that sells Rougier & PleWe will go to .
Rougier & Plé is one of the largest stationers in Paris. It has many branches in France and - as far as I know - four stores in Paris, but I will tell you about my favorite, I want to talk about the one in Saint Germain.
Rougier & Ple, Boulevard Saint Germain on, Saint michel Odeon It is among. The store has three floors and offers a wide variety of stationery and artistic painting materials inside. Yes, famous bookstores in this area Gibert Jeune ve Gibert JosephThere are also stationery departments, but Rougier & Plé is a store selling stationery and art supplies on its own, so it deserves special attention.
When you enter from the corner entrance, you will first see notebooks, pencils, erasers, colorful envelopes, small souvenirs and even interesting ornate stamps on the left. There are also beautiful postcards on the right. Here Souvenirs in Paris It's actually an interesting place to buy. It is possible to see many nice Paris-themed products, large and small, that you cannot find elsewhere. As you progress on the ground floor and walk towards the cash registers, you better understand the richness of the store, but I think you should go to the upper floors first.
As you go up to the upper floors, you will encounter more artistic products. Many for painters painting supplies, easels, canvases, paint brushes and many other products are waiting for you on rows of shelves.
In addition, many types of pencils, colorful paper and cardboard sheets, handicraft materials, and many other products you cannot imagine can be found on various floors and in various sections of the building. This is such a place that your heart melts in every part you visit.
Maybe it will be difficult to return to Turkey with an easel after your trip to Paris, but if painting is your area of interest, I believe you can find different painting materials to suit your needs here.
Especially if you are a drawing enthusiast like me, the rooms full of beautiful pencils, papers, cardboard backgrounds and construction papers are enough to blow your mind.
One of my favorite things in life is drawing. For many years, I have been drawing in my spare time and even on my busiest days just to relax. In fact, when some of the very important business meetings I attended got upset, I would try to relieve my boredom by scribbling pictures of palaces while my friends were drawing flowers and insects on the papers in front of them. Even the friends sitting next to me would see what I drew during the meeting and their eyes would be huge :)
One of the things I wanted to do most, when I had free time one day, was to buy myself various drawing pencils and draw much neater things using a ruler on quality paper. Although there are a few things I have done before, as a result of long months of work.art"There was work to do, but I was looking forward to the day when I could make such drawings in my free time that I would create just for this work.
The day I dreamed of came when I settled in Paris... I immediately went and bought my colorful papers and various pencils, sat at my desk and started drawing, but what was that? I couldn't draw! The shapes that I could normally imagine and design in my head in two minutes were not reflected on paper.
For a moment I thought I had lost my ability, but it wasn't; This had nothing to do with talent, but with stress, and at that moment I realized that I only put pen to paper and draw when I was very bored or under a lot of stress. Well, since there was no such thing as stress in my life in Paris, I could never make beautiful drawings :) For an example, see: Third Year to Heaven...
Although I felt sad for a moment, I quickly came to my senses and decided that not being able to paint was a very good thing because I was not in trouble. I think I haven't been able to hold a pen and paper and write anything since that day. Even though years have passed, I still haven't been able to finish the drawing you see in the photo below, which I once started. This is such an interesting situation.
Still, I did not lose my interest in drawing and drawing materials. I still love visiting places where such materials are sold. That's why I'm on my way to Paris Saint michelto or Odeon I enjoy walking into Rougier & Plé when it's nearby, wandering around and losing myself among the colorful materials. People want to buy everything they see, but for the reasons I mentioned, I now restrain myself. Once upon a time, I used to create wonderful batik works with watercolor and prepare and send postcards to my loved ones with my own hands. Then one day, after I settled in Paris, I bought the most beautiful watercolor materials and sat at the table; No, I couldn't do that either; Boredom has killed my creativity; I don't know whether to be sad or happy :)
To see Rougier & Plé's product range and prices from the link at the end of the article You can access their web pages. In fact, they also have online sales for delivery within France. Also The Turkish Many different artistic materials for children You can find it here on the ground floor, near the cash registers. Maybe you can buy something for your child to help them develop their creativity. I kindly ask you to take smartphones and tablet computers away from your children. Please play with them or draw them, get them interested in art, and help them improve themselves...
Shopping or not, if you think like me, I'm sure you'll love this place. Feel yourself again after visiting Rougier & Plé Boulevard Saint GermainYou will find it in . want from here on Odeon You can continue on the side if you want. Saint michelYou can wander around or Latin QuarterYou can get lost among 's rich options.
Life is beautiful with art.
Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries…

While I was searching for where to buy painting materials in Paris, your article came to my aid.
Thanks for your sharing
Thank you…
As far as I understand, the range of artistic products in the stationery you have described is quite wide. Therefore, when one enters the store, it is a really rare feeling that one has the feeling of going on a journey to another world. You have provided really nice information, interesting information...
Thank you so much.
Thanks very much for your response. I love Borges' quote, "I have always imagined heaven as a kind of library." But in my paradise, a few floors of that building will definitely be an art supply store (the entrance could also be a cafe). Even the words "cadmium yellow" lift my mood. By the way, La Maison du Pastel in Paris is like a mecca for us art lovers. It probably won't be read much, but I would be very happy if you could come by one day and talk to the sweet owner. Unfortunately it was closed when I went.
We wish you days full of color and photography. Best regards and greetings.
Hello, it is pleasing that your stress level has decreased. However, I hope that after a while your desire to draw will awaken again.
Unlike your situation, I can paint when my stress level decreases. Because especially the drawing activity requires high concentration and requires a significant part of the brain for use. I have finally returned to my desire to paint, which I have postponed for a long time, albeit intermittently (I share some of them on instagram.com/sengor77). The images that accumulate in my brain want to appear on paper or canvas after passing through my own filter. If I get too lazy and can't make that image, I get stressed!
If I'm not painting, I spend some of my free time looking at pictures of places and subjects I like on places like wikiart.org, which is an effective way to take action that I can recommend to you. (I guess there were a few spots in Paris where you could see the beautiful paintings themselves :))
I cannot imagine the richness of images that will be created in the environment you live in. They are probably calling out to you, "What are you waiting for? Immortalize me before I forget." Your drawing skills are impressive. If you would like to take your skills even further with color theory, I can happily recommend many resources. For example, it would be great to see Place de Fürstenberg from your pen or brush. (One of my favorites is a painting by Serge Belloni)
Yours
You don't know how much it means to me to see comments, especially to see such a comment, under my articles that I like, find beautiful, and share with others without the expectation of being widely read, as there are articles on the blog that will reach a wide audience.
As I mentioned in my article, I can only paint when I am under stress. I have never drawn a picture just to grab a pen and paper and say "let's draw a picture". The next thing I know, it's like I've drawn something :) That's why mine are doodles made for relaxation, whereas drawings made consciously and voluntarily like yours become paintings.
I didn't even take photos until this blog thing came along, my favorite thing was taking photos 🙂 I wouldn't call a photo without me in it a postcard, not a photo :))) No no, it's definitely not a matter of ego, I guess it's a concern about leaving a mark on history and documenting its existence. Of course, over time, I needed photos for the blog, and I saw that I was in all the photos :) I started taking photos desperately; Little by little, I liked the photo. I think I'm now trying to immortalize what I see with photography. Yes, it is true that I am a lazy person :) Isn't that why painters are much more valuable in my eyes...
I can stand in every corner of Paris and look at a corner for hours, it is surely so inspiring; I take in everything I see in one breath, as if it were accumulating somewhere inside; I do not know…
I still have to learn to play the piano, I have to go to singing lessons, I have to travel the world, there is so much to do. Learning to draw could be one of them, but if I had time, I would have to write a book first thing, but there is no time to write a book because of blogging :) However, don't let it be understood that I complain about lack of time, life goes by in a beautiful rush; zero stress for five years; That's why I can't draw anymore 😉
Thank you for your interest, suggestions and nice comment. I wrote them all down in a corner of my mind, they are all brewing in their own incubation.
I wish you many beautiful days full of art.
Love, greetings.
Hello Mr. Ahmet,
Exactly the place I was looking for, exactly the right person.
I will be in Paris in 2 weeks and the first address I will go to has been determined.
I am one of those who postponed painting until later comfortable days. I will talk to you about this later, if you allow.
