(Last Update: 31.01.2025) In this article, I would like to introduce you to a little paradise that I discovered thanks to a friend when I first came to Paris, then I forgot where it was, and then one day I followed my feelings and found it again, and as soon as I found it, I wanted to share it with you: Rue des Orchidées – Street of Orchids...

Old French exchange It was when we first met Roger, one of my friends. He made it his motto to introduce me to different parts of the city, and we visited a different place every time. One of those days, Roger taught me about this street, or rather this neighborhood, but since I did not know very well what was where in Paris at that time, after visiting this place, I did not have the chance to find it again for a long time. Moreover, when Roger left Paris to settle in Gaziantep (yes, Gaziantep!) after learning some Turkish, I completely lost track of him; So I lost this street too, but luckily I finally found where it was!

Rue des Orchidées, 13th Street of Paris boroughin, Parc Montsouris – Montsouris ParkIt is located right next to . However, both Montsouris Parkboth to and across University campusI used to go to it often, but since I didn't turn into the side streets, I haven't seen it in a long time. So what it is: Even when we go to a place in Paris that we think we know well, we risk getting lost by straying into side streets we don't know. 😉

But I don't want you to suffer what I suffered, so I will immediately describe to you the location of this tiny but very beautiful neighborhood, which I found out where it is: RER-B'S University campus get off at the stop tram when we get on our way University campus, if behind us Montsouris Park is available. As soon as you leave the station, turn left and the park is on your left. University campus along the tramway to our right from a sweet inclination We are walking down.

Turn left from the corner where the park ends, Rue GazanAfter entering and walking for a while, you can go to the second street on the right. Rue LiardWhen you enter, proceed a little further and you reach a small square. From here, cross the street straight into the street. Rue de RungisWhen you enter, small and cute houses start to appear on the left. When you walk to the end of this street, you reach a small square. If you turn left from here and turn right after a few meters Orchid StreetYou have reached . Or is it best? Check the Google Maps link where I gave the exact location at the end of the article :)

At first you don't understand where you came from. Because on the right, there are the not-so-cute reinforced concrete buildings of Paris, but when you look to your left, you start to feel the atmosphere. Especially from Rue des Orchidées Rue des GylicinesOnce you enter, you reach the real heaven.

Here are a few tiny streets (Rue des Orchidées, Rue des Gylicines, Rue des Liserons, Rue des Iris, Rue de Volubulis) is full of beautiful old houses. So much so that no two of these old houses are the same, but they are all in harmony with each other. It has colorful flowers depending on the season, yellow, red and green leaves depending on the season; peaceful, like a corner of heaven. It's not like luxury villas, modest glass mansions more like.

A person becomes very happy when he discovers such a place; On the other hand, he wonders why not everything in Paris is so cute. High-rise - unattractive - buildings that have to be built to accommodate the crowd created as a result of the increase in population density due to the problems brought by modernization, naturally spoil the texture of the city. Although the wide boulevards opened in the 19th century during the time of Baron Haussmann and the large stone apartment buildings that form the characteristic of Paris that we all know are beautiful, they are different, but when you see such neighborhoods, you can see that more refined, more humane and more peaceful lives are possible in the middle of the city.

Koşuyolu, where I spent my childhood, may not have been that attractive, but the fact that it was a neighborhood full of houses with gardens, full of various fruit trees and colorful flowers allowed me to have a nice childhood. This cloaked boy I encountered while wandering around Rue des Orchidées and its side streets reminded me of my childhood dreams. He was running across the street, his cloak was flying, and he believed he was flying; like me... Maybe I wasn't such a sweet child, but when I saw the innocence in his eyes (like all our childhood), I felt the happiness of seeing myself... We also had a small chat with this hero in a black cloak...

As you can see, it would be unfair to limit the name of this place to just Rue des Orchidées, but I chose to choose the name of the longest street in this tiny neighborhood as the topic title; Please consider this article together with all the other streets... I loved this place very much, I hope you love it as much as I do.

These kind of streets Montmartre HillThere are at the back of Rue Crémieux Even though it's a short street, it's still like that, and there's also one I love. Rue de Mouzaïa & Rue de Bellevue and also Square des Peupliers Its sides are like this, but it's a bit out of the way. That's why I especially loved this street, and I wanted to write about it so that you should definitely stop by and see it when you go this way.

This small neighborhood is surrounded by a magnificent student dormitory complex. Cite Internationale Universitaire de Paristo or Montsouris ParkWhen you come to , you can add it to your program as an additional discovery route. Afterwards, if you wish Butte quail If you wish, you can continue your tour on the side Gentillygo to Maison de la Photographie Robert DoisneauYou can go to see.

There are so many beautiful things to do in Paris. We hope you can enjoy them all to the fullest.

Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries.

  1. For some reason, I like the 14th District very much, it is quiet. I love Cite Universitaire. If I had a child, I would want them to stay in a dormitory here :) You studied in France or something. Anyway, this area is beautiful. My mother's favorite houses are here :)
