(Last Update: 25.01.2025) In this article you Marais DistrictMy favorite restaurant in Robert et LouiseI want to talk about.
Robert et Louise (rober e luiz or ğobek e luiz) is a small, warm, friendly and extremely pleasant restaurant owned by Robert and Louise, who I assume are an elderly couple. MaraisWhen you enter this restaurant while wandering around in its unique atmosphere, you feel like you are in a village.
I have visited many cities and villages in France so far. The restaurants I have eaten at in the places I have visited, especially in rural areas, are so original and so preserved that they are extremely successful in terms of decoration, cuisine and service. That's actually why I feel like I'm going to eat in a rural place when I enter Robert and Louise. Where do we go to eat at places like this? They hire people to make us experience this authentic atmosphere with all its originality in a place like this, in the heart of the city. Robert and Louise is just one of hundreds of restaurants in Paris with such an atmosphere. And nothing seems makeshift, that's all real Who.

I always say that there are so many beautiful restaurants in Paris that I am sure that you will enjoy eating at any one you go to and find something that suits your taste. That's why writing restaurant articles on this blog seems a bit futile to me. Still, I continue my articles on this subject in order to share my own experiences with you and give you ideas about eating and drinking. Otherwise, I have never made claims such as "the best restaurant", "the most wonderful place", "the most enjoyable place". The aim is to fill our stomachs with our loved ones in a nice place, in a pleasant atmosphere, and to leave that restaurant with a pleasant taste on our palate and with good memories.
We have passed by Robert and Louise many times, but every time we passed by it was crowded, so we were late to try it. Of course, it is not always easy for someone like me, who has not developed a reservation culture, to find a place in such beautiful places, but for the first time, we had our lucky day on a Sunday in October 2015. Ourselves MaraisWhile looking for a place to eat in , we passed by this restaurant by chance again, and this time when we entered, we saw that there was an empty seat.
When we entered the place, as I said before, we experienced a warm village atmosphere. Stone walls, wooden ceiling supports, the heat given by the burning stove, and the delicious smell of food made people feel like they were alive, but truly alive.

I was very surprised when the cute waitress who welcomed us suggested we sit at a large table. Letting us occupy the big table a blessing 🙂 Later we realized that it is normal to share tables with people you don't know; This adds warmth to the place, but if you dream of accidentally eating alone, then I can say that this place will not suit you.
While we were waiting to place our order, they seated a young Turkish couple who had just arrived opposite the elderly American couple sitting at the table next to us. Both groups were very surprised, but they got along immediately :) Meanwhile, I hesitated whether to greet the young Turkish couple or not. People can chat and talk freely abroad. they can be themselves I hesitate to communicate with the Turks I meet in Paris and disturb them because they want to live in a safe environment, but this time, I don't know what to do since their conversation without realizing that there are other Turks in the place will be perceived as me listening to them... In any case, I would like to say to the pregnant young mother-to-be that she can hold her baby safely. , let me greet the young couple… (This story was in 2015, so the child was born and even started school :))
Anyway... At Robert et Louise, whose menu you can access from the official website link at the end of the article, you can try duck meat "confit de canard" (which has become my favorite lately).confit pours out or ConfidentialI later noticed the wood stove where they cooked the beef because I ordered it. For a picky eater like me, who hardly eats any vegetables and therefore cannot be vegan even though he wants to, meat is an important source of nutrition, and this place knows this very well. It is both reasonable in terms of price-quality balance and the meat they cook using traditional methods tastes great.
Especially with the burnt baked potatoes and green salad they serve with the main course, whatever you eat tastes amazing. I'm sure their desserts are delicious too, but we couldn't try them because we've been on a strict diet lately. Maybe if any of you go and try it, or if you have tried it before, we would all be very happy if you could share your experiences with us.

The lower floor of the restaurant is a very pleasant place designed as a cellar, but since it is a windowless basement, it is not a place I would prefer, so I may only want to eat here if there is room on the ground floor. On my subsequent visits, I always ate on the ground floor and never tried downstairs.

We were in Paris between 8-15 June. We went to Robert et Louise with my wife. It was very crowded. There was a place for two people downstairs, but we declined. The employee, who was the chef, seated us on the side of the bar at the entrance of the door. We started waiting for a seat with two wines in our glasses. We made sure the table was vacated by "harassing" with our eyes two French women who drank two onion soups and sat for hours!!! We had the wine we started with brought to the table. The steak came out in two pieces, covered in blood but very tender. With potatoes and vegetables. We bought another piece of vegetables afterwards. On top of that, we ordered two "French Coffees" (!), that is, "espresso". Even if you choose to cook the meat as well or medium as you want, it still comes with a lot of blood. You can re-fry your meat in pieces later. Our table was right across from the barbecue. The fire of the barbecue was very high and was in direct contact with the meat. In this case, the outside of the meat was cooked and even roasted, but the inside was not. But the meat was soft. What did we pay? 70.20 Euros, two people. The ground floor is flat and boring. Even though that place was full too... It's a nice steak restaurant, I recommend it. Those who go to the region will be able to find it easily. It feels good, especially after the Picasso Museum, I swear!..
Hello,
I also benefited a lot from your blog, Mr. Ahmet. Especially the meat we ate at Robert et Louise was amazing. We walked quite a bit to find the address, but it was worth it. I think I may come back to Paris just for this taste :)
Thank you.
Hello Ms. Selda,
Thank you very much for this nice comment. You put this restaurant in my mind again in the evening :) I must go and eat here again at the first opportunity…
There are so many beautiful restaurants in Paris, believe me, there is no time to go again...
Love and greetings…
Hello Ahmet, first of all, I would like to say that I find your writings and style very sincere. It is really useful information for those who will spend 3-5 days in Paris like me. I prepared a plan for Paris where I would stay for 22 nights between 27-5 October. Afterwards, I will be going to Rome. I have 2 questions for you, I would be very happy if you could answer them. As a coffee addict, is there a place you would definitely recommend I go to? I would also appreciate it if you could let me know what the weather is like in Paris this season. Thanks in advance.
merhaba
First of all, thank you very much for your interest and nice comment.
For coffee, I can recommend Maison Verlet, address: 256 rue saint honoré 75001 Paris, where coffees from various countries of the world are ground and served in front of you.
Everything I can say about the weather is useless. Winter came early to Paris this year. The weather varies between five and ten degrees and it's really cold, but I'm not really sure if it will be warmer when you come.
As I do with everyone else, I recommend that you bring clothes that you can wear in thin layers and definitely buy something for your neck.
I wish you a good holiday in advance
Thank you.
