(Last Update: 25.01.2025) “What is your favorite restaurant in Paris?” If they ask, the answer I would give without hesitation would be Le Relais de l'Entrecôte. Please do not look for a subtext in this answer in the category of "the most amazing taste, the best quality service, the most exquisite place"; The reasons why I like this place the most in Paris are completely subjective…

Years ago, when I came to Paris for the first time, I was looking for a nice place to eat, and Devrim showed me this place, the way we entered through the door, the way we sat at the table, the atmosphere, the service, the food, everything, everything made me so happy that I was happy with my experience. I remember that joy like it was yesterday.

Every time I come here, I remember that first day and remember that beautiful day with a smile. Another friend of ours told him this place, AmsterdamDear Engin, who lives in , showed me many years ago; We remember this anecdote and laugh every time; Sometimes, while eating there, he calls Engin and tells him that we made his ears ring, and thank him…

Relais de l'Entrecôte has three branches in Paris. one of them Champs-ElyseesAnother one is its branch on Rue Marbeuf, very close to Saint Germainin… I “öspecial days and weeks” celebrations, which I can reach from my home in 15-20 minutes. Champs-ElyseesTo the branch in , when I just want to eat a nice entrecôte Saint GermainI go to its branch in… Once upon a time, Unesco Ambassador Hüseyin Avni Botsalı I went to their third branch in Montparnasse, but I almost never prefer that side. It's a matter of habit...

Two handicaps of this restaurant I can't help but mention that it is. First, this place is only open for lunch and dinner hours, so you can't go and eat whenever you want. The second problem is There's always a queue at the door...

Although no force can force me to wait in line in front of a restaurant, this place is an exception for me... If you have time, believe me, it is worth it. If you don't have time, don't bother, I recommend you to eat somewhere else.

Of course, no one can predict when and how many queues there will be, but it is most likely If you go around 11:40 in the afternoon and 18:40 in the evening, Just waiting 20 minutes You will be among the first group let in when the door opens. But this advice may not always work; once a christmas holiday When I went during the period, the queue at the door was hundreds of meters and we had to eat somewhere else without queuing.

If you accidentally end up in the second group during check-in, I'd estimate you'll be waiting at least 40 minutes. However, please don't be angry with me if you wait longer or less in line, I'm just saying it's a matter of luck...

The place, which resembles a typical Parisian restaurant, is extremely warm and elegant in terms of atmosphere and decor. The fact that all the service staff, especially women, wear black dresses and white aprons adds a different atmosphere to the place. However, for details on restaurant service and service in Paris What Will Happen to You in Cafes and Restaurants in Paris? I recommend you read my article.

Relais de l'Entrecôte, standard menu It is actually a very pretentious place. When you sit at the table, you just say how you want your meat to be cooked and you order a drink; Otherwise, your meal is fixed: Green salad with walnuts is served as an entree. Then comes your entrecôte as the main course, with delicious sauce and plenty of fries…

As a drink, I recommend the house red wine. While you are waiting sadly after finishing your meat, you feel very happy when the second batch of the same portion is served :) Then the dessert part begins and the profiterole is wonderful...

By the way, having the server write your order on the paper on the table adds an authentic atmosphere to the atmosphere, but we realized much later that the order is then entered into the electronic system at the cash register; Well that's it, we just have to keep up with the times :)

I have been recommending this place so many times to friends and family who would come to visit Paris for years, that I think over time this information spread from word of mouth and I had wishful thinking that I had made a significant contribution to making Relais de l'Entrecôte famous among the Turks; Every time I go, we always come across one or two Turkish groups and greet each other…

But okay, the more people know about it, the better, the more people see, experience and taste this beauty, the happier I will be. So, especially if you love meat, I hope you visit Le Relais de l'Entrecôte during your trip to Paris, remember me, and remember me well. Maybe my book A Week in ParisYou can reminisce about the episode of the movie that takes place in this place and try to remember the details and have a good time.

I don't remember how many times I went here. I've been pleased every time I've gone, but I think I've encountered bad meat or bad sauce once or twice. So you may not always find the same quality. This has rarely happened to me, but if you encounter such an unpleasant thing on your one visit, unfortunately, I have nothing to say.

“I hope we meet one day?” I would say here, but now whenever I go here, we meet at least one or two Turkish guest groups and chat, I like it…

  1. Mr. Ahmey, it was one of the restaurants we read about on your blog and decided to go to. We liked it very much. Both the meat and the sauce were delicious. Even I, who do not prefer red meat, liked it very much. The atmosphere was very nice and the waiters were very attentive. Since we went at noon, there was no queue. Thanks for your sharing.

You were very lucky, Ms. Aslı, to be able to enter without waiting in line. I haven't been to this diet chat for about two months, but when I saw your comment, I was excited 🙂 I'll go again after the holiday 😉 Thank you very much.

  2. We went two weeks ago at noon. I want to give a tip here. I think it's easier to find a seat if you go towards the end of the service rather than at the beginning. Also, lunch services are more affordable.

I think I've never been there at noon. It seemed strange to me that the lunch price was more affordable; I know there is only one menu, but when you say that, of course I can't say anything. If I go again, I will ask about this issue, or if anyone has gone before me and confirmed the menu, I would be happy. Thanks.

  3. You are being disgraced with your money. Their waiters are extremely rude, they behave much better in fast food restaurants. After waiting in line for 1 hour at the St. Germain branch, we were seated in a narrow place right at the door entrance, and the waiters passing by were pushing our chairs. All the tables are inside each other anyway. We had difficulty changing our location. They asked us how we wanted the entrecôte, we emphatically said welldone twice, they scribbled something on the tablecloth and left, we thought it was the table number. Despite this, a meat came out with blood flowing from it. When I told them, they insisted that you said medium, showed the shapes they had scribbled on the paper on the table, whether they were text or numbers, and claimed that you said medium. We took the plate and took it to someone who looked like a head waiter and explained our problem. They changed the plate while still showing the scribble on the table and grumbling. Meat and potatoes are also okay, there are places where you can eat much better ones at better prices. In short, we didn't know whether we were beaten or eaten.

      Hello,
To date, I have been to all branches of Le Relais de l'Entrecôte in Paris - probably - twenty times in total. One time the sauce was bad, other than that I had no problems and left with great memories every time, but not everyone's experience is the same. Your comment is very important for those with similar expectations as you. I hope they read your comment before going and decide accordingly.
      Thank you.

  4. Thank you Mr. Ahmet. I just left here. As someone who does not consume white meat and is very picky about red meat, I found it successful. The waiters can speak English and the lady who met me was very friendly and humorous. I paid 38 euros for a meal alone + glass of red wine and profiterole. The price is a little expensive, but how many times will we come to Paris? 🙂 Thanks for this and all your guidance.

    • Hello Mr. Engin,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Yes, as you said, this is not an affordable place, but I think it is satisfactory in terms of price-quality balance under Paris conditions. As you said, I think it would be nice to go once to have a nice memory, especially on special occasions :)
      I wish you happy days.

  5. I have to comment on your article after the embarrassment I experienced last night. As a Parisian born and raised, I went there to accompany my friends who came from Istanbul for business, and I can say that the reputation of this place depends only on the fact that its names are mentioned in the guidebooks. A place that doesn't even deserve K for quality.

You wait at the door for 30-40 minutes, and when it's finally your turn, an object pokes its head through the curtain, shouts "2 people!" and lets 2 people in before you. But there was no hello or "how many of you are there?" nor "I can only pick you up in water minutes". When you finally can't stand it anymore and sit down yourself, they don't hesitate to make you stand up again, screaming because you sat down without being called. Those who come after you can sit first, if they are VIP.
Come on, you've swallowed all this, you don't want to ask for extra sauce for your salad, you can't ask for 1 clean plate for the second service, they filled as many tables as possible, so the tables next to you are so close that your elbows almost touch, the place is so noisy that you leave with dizziness. The ladies serving did not show a smiling face even once. Wine is like the beer served in the isolated places in Taksim, that is, it is a disgusting thing cut with water. If you say meat, it doesn't even weigh 1g, and it comes in a sauce full of butter... So what I'm saying is, please don't advertise these types of touristic places anymore.
Why torture yourself when there are tons of brasserie and bistrots in Paris? I already looked around me, among all the people, and there wasn't even a single Frenchman in the queue waiting outside.

A place that I would not recommend even to my enemy. Even the French themselves write it, go ahead and translate it on Google: http://scope.lefigaro.fr/restaurants/restauration/bistrots—brasseries—auberges/l-r218618-le-relais-de-l-entrecote/static/

    • Hello Ms. Aysun,
I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience here, but I'm glad you shared it with us and helped guide others, thank you.
There's only one thing I'm curious about: Did you go here without reading this article of mine? Although I have never seen any rude behavior from the waiters here, I tried to mention all the other issues you mentioned in my article as much as I could.
There is always a queue here, you have to wait for a very long time; The food is standard, you can never add anything, you can't change the menu and you can't interfere with the service. And as someone who was born and raised here, I wonder "What will happen to you in cafes and restaurants in Paris?" https://www.pariste.net/kafe-ve-restoranlarda-basiniza-neler-gelecek/ I hope you will agree with my evaluations in my article. The number of restaurants in Paris where you can walk into a restaurant and sit down at your own discretion without the waiter showing you a seat is probably counted on the fingers of one hand. You must wait to be shown a seat, and if you sit somewhere you want, they will most likely come and remove you from your seat.
As I said, I have probably eaten here 10-15 times, I have never experienced the slightest unpleasantness (I won't lie, once the sauce seemed a little sour), and I had the best days and the best celebrations with my wife and friend in this restaurant. In fact, I am trying to emphasize in the article that this is not one of the best restaurants in Paris, but one of my favorite restaurants in Paris.
If the waiters were rude to you, this is already unforgivable, I don't have a single word to say to him, and of course, this is not my father's restaurant, so of course I am in no mood to defend this place. You had a sad experience and expressed your reaction, and I am sharing my positive experiences. In this respect, your comment is very valuable, because for those with expectations like you, this restaurant is a place that should be avoided; I recommend it as well.
I believe that people with expectations like me will also enjoy it.
You are right that the French do not go here, the regulars of the restaurant are mostly foreigners; As an Istanbulite living in Paris, I love going here.
If you share with us the restaurants you love to go to in Paris and that you would recommend to others, it would be useful for everyone to offer options.
      Thank you again.

  6. We were at the branch in Saint Germain on May 18, there was a really long queue at the door, but it was worth it. The food and service were very good. Food per person was 26.50 euros, excluding drinks. Homemade wine was 16 euros.

    • For two people, you'll pay around 60 euros for the standard menu (salad + entrecôte) and the restaurant's own wine (small). If you order a profiterole, you'll pay around 70 euros.
