(Last Update: 05.06.2025) In this article, I would like to talk about a place near Paris that not many people know about, and in fact there is no need to know, but it is very special and important to me: Promenade Saint Nicolas (promonad san nikola or pgomonad san nikola) i.e. Santa Claus Walkway/Passage 🙂
Here Courbevoiein, the business and commercial center of Paris DefenseTwo steps away from, Place CharrasJust behind, Rue de Bezon Avenue GambettaA tree-lined, green walking path connecting . Actually if you add it up 150-200 meters It is a long place, but it has a different place in my heart.
Although the front facades of buildings in Istanbul have a good or bad appearance, the back facades, especially of buildings facing the common courtyard, are generally unpleasant and neglected. In Paris, both the front facades and the back facades, which few people can see, can be very well-groomed and beautiful. For example, when you pass through the Saint Nicolas Pass, you see the rear facades of the buildings; Think of it as if you were walking through the back yards of the houses, but since this is also a walking path, if you take into account that the buildings and the sky can be barely distinguished from the trees, you can imagine that you are walking in a tiny forest.
Our CourbevoieThe first house we rented after our first lodging in was right on the corner of this road. When we looked out the window, this green road appeared as a nice greenery between us and the building across the street; especially the geraniums on the balcony, oh those “last geraniums”…

What a pleasure it was for me to leave home in the morning and walk through this road to the bus stop. Then we moved 250 - 300 meters away from our house, so I didn't pass through this road every day as before, but I used to go this way at least two - three times a week. Especially if I was the only one on this walking path when I went to the bakery early in the morning to buy bread, then I found myself in nature as if I were alone in heaven, as if the sky was green rather than blue. Later Nice We moved from here when the adventure started, but now Every time I come to Paris, just in the house at the entrance of this passage I'm staying.
As I walk here, I remember walking down the staircase streets between the houses with gardens while returning home with my mother in the evenings in Koşuyolu, where I spent my childhood. I feel the warmth of my mother's hand in my hand, as if she is telling me beautiful stories. Although this place wasn't as steep as Koşuyolu, and Paris is now telling the stories, not my mother, that childish joy still accompanies me inside me; It also makes you feel the happiness of being an adult and being in Paris.

Spring is beautiful, summer is beautiful; Especially in autumn, when those leaves turn yellow and there is no carpet under your feet, then the taste of passing through here becomes different. I always found myself in a completely different world.
Of course, don't pay attention to what I say, what I say depends only on me, it is completely my personal taste. If you accidentally happen to pass this way and pass through this passage, I don't know if you will be affected like me.
I think I went through this passage during the ten years I lived in Paris. As the trees grew taller over the years, the atmosphere became different. Maybe my perspective has changed, but this place no longer seems as magical to me as it used to be. Every time I passed by, I was happy, remembering the feelings I felt in the old times. What a wonderful ten years I spent here...
I hope you will always have a wonderful year.
With love.
