(Last Update: 06.05.2023) The Paris Auto Show (Paris Auto Show – Mondial de l'Automobil), which a car enthusiast like me should not miss, is generally held every two years at the fairground in Porte de Versaille. In this article, you will find my information and impressions about the automobile fair that I went to for the second time in 2012, after the fair in 2014, when I moved to Paris. So I got up the day after the opening and went to the fair and lost myself among the beautiful cars I saw as I walked from hall to hall.
The Paris Motor Show was first held in 1898 Tuileries GardenIt was held in and is the first automobile fair in history.. At that time, 232 model vehicles were exhibited and 140 thousand people visited the fair... One cannot believe that these things started more than a hundred years ago, and what others were dealing with while we were dealing with...
The Paris Motor Show, which has been held at the Porte de Versaille Fairgrounds since 1962, has been held every two years since 1976. When I went to the fair two years ago, in 2012, I didn't understand much and didn't enjoy it much due to the crowd and the lack of planning because I didn't follow the catalog properly, but this time I got there early, thoroughly examined the hall plans in the brochure and pinpointed the stands of the brands I really wanted to see. I both saved time and was not tired.
Of course, there were still magnificent car models, and many of them were showcased for the first time in Paris. Since I am always interested in following the innovations closely and witnessing them personally, and this time the subject was "automobiles", one of my biggest passions, I wandered around the fairground all day as if I was walking in heaven.
My priority was to examine concept vehicles and have an idea about the future of the automobile industry, as well as to examine the vehicles we will see in traffic in the near future with a realistic perspective.
For example, I liked Mini's new five-door model at first glance, but Mini As in the model, when I got into the vehicle, I felt claustrophobic :) I experience this feeling every time; After a while, I forgot about it, so for some reason, I still look at a Mini I see on the road in love. It really is an extraordinarily cute car in terms of design, I'm sure it has very good technical features, but when I get inside the car, I feel like I'm in a matchbox. Still Mini's concept car Superleggera VisionI must say that it is very stylish and different.
Undoubtedly one of the coolest cars of the Paris Motor Show Alfa Romeo 4CI think it was. It had a very striking line and appeal among tons of similar cars. Although he was saying "take me", how logical is it to be in traffic in daily life with such a vehicle? is discussed.
After all, while I was doing eyewash, I was also looking for a sensible vehicle. that period Honda jazz As a user, I was very pleased with my car; It was an extremely quiet, trouble-free vehicle that had no problems with fuel consumption. I saw so many cars at the fair, but I never felt as comfortable behind the wheel of any of them as I did in my own Jazz. One time panoramic glass roof I care; When this doesn't happen, the car is suffocating me now. Of course, my comparison is valid for cars of Jazz tune and slightly above. Or convertible Vehicles are always my preference :)
Okay, I'm a modest person, but when it comes to cars, I can be a little generous; Especially if the bottom of the purse is full, I can open it all the way 🙂 While visiting the fair, I was interested in the small and impressive models, because you don't often come across people driving around in big cars in Paris, and even if you do come across them, they are mostly perceived as "unseen". There were so many people around me who lived in million-euro houses and drove very modest vehicles, which inevitably affected my mindset.
In this context, when it comes to a car that is both small and dreamy, A I had a love affair with him for a while :) Of course, this love was never mutual, but that's okay. Anyway, my enthusiasm wore off after a while :)
It is true that I admire big and flashy cars in Istanbul. I think this is due to the "big one wins" mentality in Istanbul traffic, that is, there is a perception that you have to have a big vehicle to get the road, but this is not the case in Paris. People drive around in tiny cars, and everyone is parking on the streets, bumping bumper-to-bumper to make room for themselves :) That's why I'm completely convinced about small cars. driving in paris ve parking in paris I have touched upon these issues in my articles on the subject.
Also, sensitivity about the environment got into my bones in Paris. The carbon dioxide emission of the car, as well as its fuel consumption, was a very important criterion for me. For this reason alone, I can say that I have become alienated from luxury and large vehicles. Now, when I examine a vehicle catalog, I look not only at the power and performance criteria, but also at the carbon dioxide emission values, and if this value is high, the car is automatically eliminated from my options.
It's really unbelievable how many years have passed since we entered the 21st century and we are still stuck with cars that consume fossil fuels. Okay, I'm convinced that flying cars won't happen in the near future, but at least electric cars become widespread and normalized.
Renault's Zoe This is why I care about the model. If the project of installing an electric cable in our garage were to be realized, I would love to own such a car, but since the distance it has traveled is not yet sufficient and charging units are not widespread, one may naturally have doubts.
One of the most crowded stands at the Paris Motor Show Tesla It was really gratifying to happen; Consumers are interested in electric cars and I am sure that if they could become widespread and the system could be established, they would instantly switch to electric cars. Especially when I saw Tesla's 500km range vehicles, I got a lot of hope for the future. But long-range cars also have their prices :)
Of course, familiar dream cars always blow our minds; One Maserati let it be one Bentley let it be; I probably wouldn't say no if someone gave it as a gift :) After all, there is no such thing as an annual car tax in France, it doesn't cost much unless you use the car :)
But as I said, the carbon dioxide emissions of known luxury vehicles are a disaster; I don't know how they let them roam in traffic. Of course, there are "environmentally friendly" models, but unfortunately, the vehicles used by those Arab sheikhs generally do not have such a concern.
Tesla's ModelsIn this respect, its interior was as impressive as its exterior. I couldn't believe my eyes, especially when I saw the giant control panel inside. You know how we say "like an airplane", the front console was exactly that.
Of course Bentleyhas a special place in my heart. First time, years ago Monte Carlo – MonacoThere was a vanilla-colored convertible model that I saw in , I will never forget it. If I had an “unnecessary” amount of money, I think I might want to buy one of these :) Actually, even though it is a Bentley Convertible model, I guess its color is not that important :)
Although, when you think about it, one feels strange at the stands of this fair, when there is so much poverty in the world. Whatever kind of world order this is, everyone lives somewhat contentedly. Most of the people who came to visit the Paris Motor Show (that is, people who managed to be in Paris) would never be able to buy any of the cars they saw, but they still came to have an idea or they were happy to "see with the eyes of the world" the vehicles of their dreams.
The situation was especially interesting at the stands of vehicles in the "beyond luxury" segment. You cannot inspect the vehicles by waving your hands like in other stands, you only have to photograph them from afar through a glass barrier. “Rolls Royce It's like a situation like "who are you?" We are in a strange world, I guess...
Although my childhood toy was a Matchbox Mercedes 450SLIf I'm not mistaken, it was a yellow convertible. I had only one toy car, and if it broke or got lost, I would beg my mother to get another one of the same one. I still remember the spring of the wheels when I was playing with that car; I know his license plate by heart. That's why a convertible Mercedes has always been important to me, but I can't say that I like the line of the 2014 Mercedes. I had to wait until 2018 to love Mercedes again, and only then did I like one of its models and own a 2018 Class A Mercedes.
My passion for convertible cars has never changed. Although I wouldn't even dream of owning such a car in Istanbul, since we can't even open the windows and drive around in a convertible, let alone traffic, but in Paris, the roads were so beautiful and the air was so clean that one can be quite enthusiastic about owning a convertible car. I've never had a vehicle with a glass roof, so I can travel freely on the roads.
Fiat 500 She is a model that I have always found very cute, but I also saw her in Milan a few years ago. French Riviera My opinion changed when I used it as a rental car during my trip between; I realized that it was definitely not a car that could be used on long trips and that I never needed to own one. Then they released the 500L model, I couldn't warm up to it at all, but the 500X model showcased at this year's fair was interesting. It doesn't make you feel upset.
I also saw the new Jazz and HRV at the Honda stand. I really liked these models, which will be released in the summer of 2015. I already liked Jazz because it was my own car; HRV is also my old love; I would compare it to the upgraded version of the Kartal when it was produced in the past :) It also had a very impressive design.
One of the most impressive stands at the Paris Motor Show BMWwas 's. The new 2 series vehicles looked really nice. I especially liked the convertible model. Although I am not as fond of cars with awning roofs as I used to be, I find “coupé cabriolet” models more logical; That's why the convertible of the 3 series was even more attractive. I also had a Volkswagen EOS in my modest dreams, but I couldn't see it at this 2014 fair; I thought they wouldn't release a new model, but they didn't.
Speaking of Volkswagen, I saw a Golf model that burns 100 liters per 1,5 kilometers: GTE, I was very impressed, but when I saw the price difference between it and a normal Golf, it would be a lie if I said, with typical Turkish logic, "oh, I'll fill the tank for the difference for a lifetime" :)
Of course, there were many other brands and models at the Paris Motor Show; Even a lot of cars whose names I don't know, but which I saw for the first time in my life. I wish I had time to go again, in a quieter time, and examine all the cars for hours; I guess I thought I would never get tired of it...
Some people can talk about sports for hours, some about TV programs, some about fashion, and I can talk about cars for hours. My favorite car changes constantly, like a Top Ten list; Once you see this car, I will have my eye on it, once you see this car, I will have my eye on it. Still, I keep my feet on the ground and appreciate what I have :) And also An automobile company told Pariste.Net sponsor I would love to have it....
