(Last Update: 06.09.2024) There are places in Paris that are both within easy reach of everyone, and at the same time hidden in a way that those who are curious and investigate cannot find in their lifetime. In this article, I would like to tell you about one of those places, a wonderful cafe in the middle of Paris: The Garden of the Petit Palais.
Earlier Petit PalaisWhile I was writing, I suggested that you sit at the cafe in the garden of the museum and eat and drink something. In this article, I would like to introduce in detail this delightful place that I mentioned in one line. Not only will we learn about a new and beautiful cafe in Paris, but we will also see once again what beauty we can achieve if we pursue a detail in a single line.
The Garden of the Petit Palais (lö jarden d pöti pale or lö jağden dü pöti pale) The garden of the Little Palace means. Well, Petit Palais As you will know very well from the article, the courtyard of this small but magnificent building, which is not actually a palace, is just as beautiful and worth seeing. It is one of the places that must be tried, especially since it hosts such a special cafe.
Why do I say it's a middle-of-the-road place? Because this is it. Champs-ElyseesTwo steps away from . Triumphal archfrom ConcordOn the right as you walk towards Abercrombie & Fitch You know, after the stores and shops end and the tree-lined road begins, this is it. of the metro FranklinRoosevelt is the stop. When you keep walking straight from here Champs-Elysees – Clemenceau You reach the stop. In a way "Ataturk of today's FranceAt this point, where the statue of Charles de Gaulle, which we can call "ü", is on your right. Grand Palais and across from him Petit Palais located.
Petit PalaisWhen you climb the stairs of , go through the security check and enter the garden from the right or left end, you enter the semicircular courtyard. Directly across this small but impressive courtyard is this beautiful cafe called Le Jardin du Petit Palais. That's why it is both open and secret.
In fact, it would be a lie if I said I didn't hesitate a bit when writing such places. I want some places to remain special to me, but I think that the citizens of my own country should also be aware of very special places like this one, which many tourists know about but most Turks are not aware of :) That's why A Week in Paris I also talked about this in my book...
It is true that I have a special interest in museum cafes, as someone who went to that beautiful cafe in the garden of the Islamic Arts Museum in Sultanahmet almost every week during my university years in Beyazıt. Although, after the last restoration, I was sad to see that the garden of the Museum of Islamic Arts no longer had its old atmosphere, but anyway, let's continue talking about the good things.
Today Paris Museum of Fine Arts functioning as Petit Palaisentrance of free You do not pay to come to this cafe. The domed architecture in front of you in the exquisite colonnaded courtyard is so impressive that you should definitely sit outside if the weather is not too cold. Since I sit outside even in the coldest winter months, I always find a way to sit outside when the weather is nice.
Unfortunately, this is a very popular place, I must say that it is a bit difficult to find a place to sit in the garden except early in the morning. Actually, let's not say that it is very crowded, the seating area in the garden is limited... The inside is quite large and there is enough space for everyone, but it must be admitted that the interior decoration does not suit the atmosphere of the museum. It is still stylish and clean, but one wants to feel like they are in this building built in 1900; I must admit that this is why I am not very fond of this contemporary interior decoration.
Le Jardin du Petit Palais can be preferred especially for lunch and tea, coffee and dessert. I can't say that it has a very rich menu, but you can still find something nice to fill your stomach. For current prices and product types, you can access the menu on their website from the link at the end of the article.
Even though the garden is sometimes crowded, it is so calm and serene that I believe you will be as happy as I am if you stop by this cafe and have something to eat and drink to lose yourself in this silence and enjoy life. I kindly ask you not to lose yourself too much and overshadow the serenity of the environment while taking photos like Far Eastern tourists :)
After enjoying the garden, you can wander around the museum and then go out and turn left. III. Alexandre Bridge ve Seine River If you turn to the side or to the right, Champs-Elysees You continue your trip. To reach here directly M1 or M13 numbered metro Just get off at the Champs-Elysées Clemenceau stop of the lines.
Please note that Le Jardin du Petit Palais, like the museum, is closed on Mondays and public holidays…
Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries…

Greetings Mr. Ahmet.
I am writing this right now, while sitting in the cafe mentioned in the article, having finished my meal. I took advantage of the nice weather (when I say nice, it's 0 degrees, but at least it's sunny, we call such weather nice, thanks to Paris :)) and went to the mountain to explore the Petit Palace and its cafe, which I read about in your article before. As you mentioned, it is a very magnificent building, one gets enough of art inside, it is a great chance to see the works of Monet, Rodin, Rembrandt, Delacroix and countless other artists, and for free. Apart from these, countless artifacts from antique artifacts to antique furniture, clocks and lighters welcome you. Afterwards, one goes out into the garden and is satisfied with its half-natural, half-artistic beauty. It was not open for service outside due to the cold, but I sat inside by the window and enjoyed the view in the warmth. The food is satisfactory and the prices are quite affordable. I bought soup and beef tartare. I will continue my day extremely happily. Frankly, it was enough for me to have time to visit Petit Palace until lunch time, in time for its opening.
Thank you again for your sharing.
Good work.
