(Last Update: 05.09.2024) You all know Léon, one of the most famous restaurants in Paris. This restaurant, famous for its mussels, is, as the name suggests, Brussels. A chain of Belgian origin. Firstly Leon Vanlancker by Opened in Brussels in 1893 It wasn't until a hundred years later that Léon It opened its first branch in Paris in 1989.. Its original name in Belgium was “Chez Leon" well Leon's Place while in ParisLeon from Brussels" well Leon of Brussels known as.
Years ago, while visiting Brussels, I happened to sit in a mussel restaurant and learned after a long time that it was the famous Léon. Since I discovered Léon in Paris at a later time, whenever I go to a Léon in Paris, I always remember that place in Belgium. That's why Léon always seems Belgian to me, not French, which is what he is :)
Anyway, there is also this issue: I don't like mussels 🙂 Or rather, I have no interest in seafood. But man's companion "If my father came out of the sea, I would eat itWhen we are in the mood, we often end up at Léon and other seafood restaurants. So, for years, I've always had it in front of me. various kinds of insects, shellfish… No, it's okay, I'm used to it now :) I don't eat it, but of course, over time, I gained a lot of knowledge about what it is, how to eat it, what to do and what to do...
Everyone I know around me wants to go to Léon, and the person next to him doesn't like seafood. Why is it always like this? Of course, Léon has thought of this as well; in addition to the mussel varieties, there are also standard meat and chicken dishes. In fact, their cheeseburgers save lives. No, it's not your ordinary cheeseburger, don't worry; without bread without bread çok healthy 🙂 But it seems like the waiters make grimaces when serving anything other than mussels? I don't mind if they make me feel sour, instead of feeling sour while eating those mussels :)
When I think of mussels, I think of the times we went swimming as a family in Sarıyer Büyükliman. My aunts, cousins, my mother, my father, my brother, etc., we would all swim and have fun together all day, and then we would wait for the mussels collected from the sea to be fried for lunch. I didn't like that mussel either, but it seemed more tolerable to me among this whole ritual. When I think of mussels, pictures of those days always come to my mind.
“If you don't like mussels, why are you writing about Léon?” you may ask. Well, as I said, I've been on my way to Léon a lot. Since you are reading this article, it is obvious that you love it there too. I just wanted to write two lines of information about this place. Or is it normal that I have written so much and it has just been Léon's turn? I should have written about such a famous place much earlier.
We are the most Saint GermainWe go to the branch in . For some reason I like it more there. Before Champs-ÉlyséesIt was there and it was very popular, but pandemic Unfortunately it closed afterwards. A few times too Châtelet ve Port MaillotWe went to their branch in . All of them have the same service quality; If you like it, you can go to any of them with peace of mind.
Léon has seven branches within Paris:
- Saint Germain……. 131 Boulevard Saint-Germain 75006
- Bastille……………… 3 Boulevard Beaumarchais 75004
- Opera……………….. 30 Boulevard des Italiens 75009

If you are one of those who love mussels, then when you come to Paris, you will definitely go to Léon. If not, I am sure that at least one of the people you come to Paris with will want to eat here. Therefore You can't come to Paris without visiting Léon. : )
There is also the issue of french fries. At Léon, French fries are served in generous amounts, even unlimited on some menus. As someone who loves potatoes very much, although I like the fries of this place in terms of taste, their form is more ""homemadeI have to say that I do not prefer "Mc Donald's" style thin potatoes as I like the ones cut in the form of mother potatoes. Oh no matter what, after all, potatoes are potatoes. Me too If potatoes came from the sea, I would eat them : )
Bon appetit to all of us...

“Everyone I know around me wants to go to Léon, but the person next to him doesn't like seafood”, I laughed a lot at your sentence, Mr. Ahmet, it is really like that, like me and my wife :)) I love it, my wife has to eat it :))
We are in Paris in May, it was Leon, Relais de l'Entricote, Chartier, we will satisfy our longing for all the restaurants. By the way, there is a chain called Pret à Manger, as a healthy option, otherwise it will only be a matter of time before I fall into a gluten and sugar coma!!
Thanks, Best regards
So far, every couple I've taken to Léon, one of them is crazy about mussels, the other one says "uhh", but there's one side that endures things for the sake of love :)
Hello Mr. Ahmet, I definitely agree with your statement. You can't come to Paris without visiting Léon. Even though I'm not very good with mussels in Turkey, for some reason I always go to Léon de Bruxelles' place on the Champs-Élysées every time I visit Paris. For some reason I can't do it without going, and I love it so much. Next time I come, I want to go to his place in Saint Germain. Thank you for your article, it was very nice.
Thank you, Ms. Nazan, for your nice comment. Have a nice trip. Greetings love.
We went to the branch in the Champs Elysee. There was a long queue at the door. The waiter came and said 'dow' and 'dow' as if he were making a victory sign. When he saw that we were two people, he took us and sat us at a table immediately. We placed our order without waiting. The variety was so great, we didn't know what to eat. When we learned that the people at the next table were a Turkish family who were regulars at Leon. I almost hugged and kissed it. We made our choice with the advice of the Turkish family. We loved the dessert plate consisting of mini desserts. I'm glad we went, thank you pariste.net
It must have been a very lucky day for you, I was happy when I read it. Thank you for your nice comment.
Hello Mr. Ahmet; I tried to subscribe to Leon's mailing list, but there is no Turkey in the address section, and it is not valid without specifying the address. Hello
Hello Mr. Batur,
I had never thought of this detail, thanks for the warning.
I think the address information is just for details, so I think there would be no harm in giving any address in Paris. If you wish, try entering the address “8 Rue Scribe, 75009 Paris”, I hope it will work. By the way, this address is Opera Garnier's address 😉
Greetings, love…
