(Last Update: 05.06.2025) Derya Restaurant, Paris Turkish Quarterin, M4, M8 and M9 metro lines pass through Strasbourg-Saint Denis It is located right next to the metro station. When you leave the station, you will see a huge Porte de Saint Denis So you see the Saint Denis Gate, from this street Rue du Faubourg Saint DenisAs soon as you enter from , you are already in the Turkish neighborhood. Derya Restaurant is a little further away. Julien RestaurantIt's just on the right after you pass.

When you enter the street, you already feel like you are in Turkey. Turkish Quarter As I tried to point out in my article, it feels like you are in Turkey, but mostly in the eastern parts or on the outskirts of Istanbul. If I say slum, you don't need to go far; After seeing the state of Aksaray during my last visit to Istanbul, I can even compare it to Aksaray. Of course, you should also take into account that the French architecture confuses you.

When you enter Derya Restaurant, you feel like you are in a much higher level place. It has a different feel because it was converted from an old French restaurant. It's like you're in a French restaurant, but the kitchen is ours... Well, when the waiters are our people, it becomes a more friendly atmosphere. You like it when they greet you with a Turkish greeting…

When you take a look at the current menu, which you can access from the official web page link at the end of the article, you can see that it is delicious as an appetizer. tara, paste, tzatziki, stuffed vine leaves, eggplant paste, calamari, shrimp Whatever you are looking for is there. Also from main dishes meatballs, adana, lamb skewers, chops, hünkar liked, sea bream, sea bass waiting for you. Well sweetly too rice pudding, baklava, kunefe yes, what more?

Of course I'm a classic guy, or rather someone who knows nothing When I go to a place like this, I get my lentil soup first and then I usually order my meatballs. Delicious ayran on the side... Yes, we are in Paris, but don't laugh, people crave it, even if it is once a month or a year. At such times, I go to one of the Turkish restaurants in Paris and satisfy my longing.

I think I've been to Derya Restaurant a few times so far; I ate meatballs on my first visit, I tried lamb shish kebab on my second visit, it was very good. The kunefe we ate was delicious. Always in the background Sezen AksuThe songs of that old era of 's that I love so much were playing. I flew away anyway :) On another visit, classical Turkish classical music was playing softly in the background.

Of course, it is not always possible to find the exact same taste of the food you eat in Turkey. This is the common fate of not only Derya Restaurant, but also all other Turkish restaurants. Even if the material comes from Turkey, the air and water of Paris get mixed up.That's why what you eat and drink tastes a little different. But I'm telling you, it works very well so far from Turkey, in the middle of Paris...

It's not just Turks who are regulars here, there are also plenty of French customers. It is a pleasure to at least offer them Turkish cuisine in such an atmosphere, because when you say Turkish food in Paris, or more precisely in France (and Europe), everyone first thinks of "doner-kebab". Of course, the soulless, cheesy doner buffets that our doner restaurants have opened all over Europe have a big part in this. Most of them are called "Istanbul Grill" or "Istanbul Kebab". Just think about the brand image of Istanbul... That's why when you see a decent place like Derya Restaurant abroad, you feel happy for your country.

If any of you have been here, or if you go and try other things from the menu after reading this article and share your experiences in the comments section below, it will be very useful to give ideas to others. Because it is easy to make me happy when it comes to eating and drinking, but it is difficult to make someone who knows the job happy; That's why I'm curious about your comments.

Whenever I see Derya Restaurant, I think of my dear friend Derya. After working in the banking field for years, Derya settled in Montreal, Canada, with her husband Fatih. She built a completely different career there and became a notable meze master. Derya has progressed so much in the meze making business that whenever we talk to her, we hear her show off her skills in Paris. I try to trick him into showing it. Since my persuasion efforts have not worked so far, Derya Meze Deryasi I just console myself with the photos on my Instagram account :)

Bon appetit, honey and sugar...

Happy Days.

We went with my wife after reading the comments and learning that tea was especially served. Unfortunately the service is zero. Or so it happened to our luck. First of all, the food I ordered arrived wrong. When I said the food was wrong, they changed it. We had to wait for a long time. When the food came, I had to ask for the fork and knife myself. They didn't even give a napkin to the table. They took the money for the tea. The toilet is a complete disaster. Insensitivity all the way..

      Hello Ms. Betül,
I haven't been to Derya Restaurant for a long time. That's why, as someone who went there recently, your comment is very important to give others an idea.
      Thank you.

  2. Hello Mr. Ahmet. We were in Derya on the evening of July 13th. Their meat is very delicious. We especially liked the meatballs pictured above. The lamb skewer is also assertive and seasoned. Baklava is also nice. We had a very nice conversation, especially with the friendly waiter (the groom). It is as good as any good restaurant in Turkey.

  3. Right next to Derya restaurant, there is Julien restaurant, which has hosted famous people from all over France (I remember Van Damme and former President Chirac when I used to hold a garment workshop on that street), it is recommended, and on the same street at number 66, there is Istanbul Grill, where famous football players and artists from Turkey go.

    • Hello,
I have always passed by Julien Restaurant, there was never a queue, otherwise I am aware that it is one of the places to go, thank you for reminding me.
Istanbul Pizza Grill is one of my favorite places, but they insistently do not serve tea after the meal, I protest them :)
Jokes aside, thank you very much for your valuable comment...
