(Last Update: 30.01.2025) This time For those who love cooking and being in the kitchen We are in an interesting place. The name of this store where various kitchenware, classic and high-quality kitchenware are exhibited, or rather sold, in a very interesting environment. E. Dehillerin...

This is 1. boroughin, in the center of the city, Forum des HallesJust at the opposite end of the Old Commodity Exchange Trade Exchange – Pinault CollectionA store in a very central location, next to . In fact, we discovered it by chance - by accident - when we saw the kitchen supplies in the window while passing by; We were curious and went in, and as soon as we entered, we went on a journey through history.

E. Dehillerin 1820 It was opened in 1999 and it seems like it hasn't changed at all since the day it opened. An interesting store that still lives those days. It has a unique, authentic style with high ceilings, weathered wooden decorations and extremely simple product presentation.

In fact, for someone like me who doesn't know anything about cuisine, this is a place that can be visited like a museum. Stayed with me culinary expert It's also a pleasure for me to catch the admiring looks in someone's eyes. 😉 Well, even though I wasn't interested in kitchen work, I wandered around here fascinated; As I said, I felt like I was visiting a city museum in Paris, rather than shopping.

You can find hundreds of kitchen utensils here, the names of which I don't know, lined up on shelves up to the high ceiling. Copper cake molds, cast iron pans, -I guess the couple was given water- knives, cleavers, tongs, pots, oyster forks and many other strange things can be found here.

If you are someone who likes plain white restaurant crockery like me, you will be able to find things you like in this store, which I think also sells to restaurants in Paris. Especially if you are a kitchen professional, then you have no escape, you will have to take something from here.

Another interesting thing about this store is that there is no price tag on any of the products. You can take note of the code numbers on the labels attached to the products, find the code number of the product you have chosen on the file papers in the transparent bags hanging around or in the folders on the shelves, and learn the prices.

Since I have no kitchen knowledge, I cannot say that I know the prices of such equipment very well, but I can say that my eyes popped out of their sockets when I got curious and learned the prices of a few products :) Still, everything I bought seemed to be of such high quality that a person might want to buy it and put it in his kitchen just for the sake of aesthetics.

It was not possible for me to test how good the salespeople were at E. Dehillerin, which resembled hardware stores as we know them rather than the tinselly glassware shops we are used to; Because I left here without buying anything, but the security guard at the door - like the door - had an extremely warm smile despite his cold appearance.

If you like cuisine, I would say it would be beneficial to see this place, but if you are like me, you should also go there. Châtelet or Forum des Halles When you fall on the side, it won't hurt to stop by while passing by; On the contrary, I think you will like the historical and strange atmosphere of the interior.

To come to this interesting store Louvre Museumon the easternmost side of M1 metro Get off at the Louvre-Rivoli station of the line Rivoli StreetJust go straight up from . E. Dehils, the round thousand that will appear before you on your right, Once you pass Bourse du Commerce – Pinault Collection, you will see it in the wooded corner on the right. RER'of A, B, D with lines or M4 by metro your future Châtelet – Les Halles If you get off at E. Dehillerin station, Forum des HallesJust at the other end of .

The store is closed on Sundays and open on other days. The interesting thing is this: It is only closed on Mondays during lunch break, and is open continuously between 09:00-18:00 on other days :)

There's so much to do after you leave here. Just below you Louvre Museum anyway, if you go west Palais Royalhas that beautiful garden. Still around there Place des Victoires just beyond Vivienne PassageColbert Passage ve Choiseul Passage Many beautiful places like these are waiting for you. All you have to do is explore Paris and enjoy the city.

Pleasant trips, pleasant discoveries.

  1. Bonjour Ahmet Bey :)
We will be in Paris for 3 days in the summer and I started reading your articles from the beginning. I realized desperately that 3 days and 3 months would not be enough, let alone here:( It is such a full city in every sense! Thank you.
My question will be a little different:/ :p You are not interested in the kitchen, but maybe you noticed, I want to buy vanilla sticks to make vanilla extract and I don't trust the ones in our country. Are there any places like herbalists there or where pastry ingredients are sold?

    • Hello,
I haven't been able to finish Paris in five years, and you can't finish it in three months anyway, so you'll start somewhere by seeing the places that interest you the most in three days. I hope you have a very nice day.
As you said, I am quite unfamiliar with the kitchen. I have been through many herbalists so far, but none of them left a mark on my mind, and when you asked, I couldn't think of a place that I could directly recommend. It may sound a bit touristy, but Galerie Lafayette has a very rich food and beverage department, and Le Bon Marché also has a very rich food department where a wide variety of spices and herbal ingredients are sold. Take a look there if you wish. If I pass by a herbalist until you arrive and I don't forget, I promise I will try to give you different suggestions :)
      Happy Days.

    • Thank you very much for your kind response. I wanted to go to Galerie Lafayette anyway, so I have an excuse :P If I come across the herbalists, I would definitely like to go there ^^
      Have a nice day
