(Last Update: 10.01.2026) In this article, I will tell you about my favorite restaurant to eat at, in Rue Mouffetard, one of my favorite corners of Paris. Le MouffetardI want to introduce . Paris already paradise of restaurants and cafes. They are not factory chains of famous brands that are copies of each other, but restaurants, each with its own characteristics, unique cuisine and taste. I try new places whenever I get the chance, but when I like some places more than others, I try to share them with you on the blog. Le Mouffetard Restaurant is one of those places, but of course There are tons of restaurants like this. The aim is to have both an idea and a memory...
5. boroughin Paris's famous Quartier Latin – Latin Quarter'The restaurant located in M7 to the metro jump and Censier - Daubenton When you get off at the station, Rue Mouffetard's southern starting point is just a stone's throw away. Both the surroundings of this station and Rue MouffetardI believe that you will be happy with the real Parisian atmosphere that greets you when you walk up from . As you ascend the hill, you will see a greengrocer on the right, the colorful fruits will whet your heart (and your appetite). There is a Nicholas boutique just diagonally opposite. Our restaurant Le Mouffetard is at this point.

No matter where you eat on this street, you will leave your restaurant with more or less similar satisfaction. So you can choose any of them with peace of mind. We tried this place for the first time on a Sunday in January 2016 and eager to eat salad We entered Le Mouffetard. The atmosphere was so pleasant that when I realized that this was a nice French restaurant, I immediately gave up on the salad idea and started eating salad, which became one of my favorite dishes after I started living in Paris. canard confit I decided to eat.
Since we arrived at noon, the place was empty at first, but then it slowly started to fill up. The regulars of the restaurant were mostly French and they were extremely decent, calm and composed people. I also love eating in such peaceful environments. The waitresses were extremely warm and humorous. This is in Paris What Will Happen to You in Cafes and Restaurants? As I mentioned in my article, this is not a service you can find easily :) They served quickly, took our orders and rushed off. Soon our food arrived, our waiter said “Enjoy your meal" he said and left the table with a smiling face.

I took a fork out of the meal and I cannot describe to you the taste that filled my palate. I say at every opportunity that I am not a gourmet., you know, but with your permission, I have the right to call the foods I find delicious “good” :) The duck was delicious, the potatoes were also delicious. Yes yes, the potatoes were different.
One of the things that surprised me was that somewhere in the middle of the meal, the other waitress came over and said again.bon appétiiiiiiiit” was what he said. Because the French only say "bon appétit" at the beginning of the meal, it seems strange to them when you say it in the middle of the meal, whereas we say "bon appétit" a lot before, after and during the meal. That's why we were quite surprised when a Frenchman came and said "bon appetit" in the middle of the meal :)

I had to eat slowly, not for the sake of being healthy, but so that this taste would not end quickly; I could definitely eat another plate, but that's where health concerns come into play. It's not easy MartiniquePosing in swimsuits in the 's :)
I always recommend it to you after dinner. gourmet coffee we said. Actually, maybe I should write a separate article on this subject, because I want everyone to know that such articles can get bogged down in between. When you can't decide which dessert to eat after your meal, or when you want to share it little by little and just taste it, you can try café gourmand, where small varieties of desserts are served alongside coffee. Especially the large yellow cups in which coffee was served here were also surprising to me. As you know, espresso is generally served as big as a bird It is made in containers :)

We went to Le Mouffetard a few more times after that day. When is our way? Rue MouffetardWe preferred to eat here most of the time. However, as I said, there are other nice restaurants nearby; I know I need to try them too, but I'm such a loyal customer, Did I love it? I love it completely. : )
It's fun to sit inside in the winter and eat in front of your door when the weather is nice. The street is already lively, it is very enjoyable to watch the variety of people passing by. You encounter a cultural mosaic where you can see clothing combinations you never imagined, and on the other hand –in my opinion– Reasonable price in Paris –in my opinion– you eat the best confit de canard…

Everyone who comes to visit Paris should definitely visit Rue MouffetardI'm already saying that it should be reduced to . If you get hungry while walking along that street, you can easily eat anywhere (If there is a place you are not satisfied with, please share it with us). But if you want to dine in such a beautiful place, Le Mouffetard is waiting for you.
After dinner Rue MouffetardYou can continue your walk up from , if you turn left when you finish the street Pantheon side, if you continue straight Sorbonne University walks to his side, finally Boulevard Saint Germainto and Saint michelYou will reach . If you turn right from the square, there is a small and cute square below. Place Monge there.
What else is there to do in the surrounding area? all Rue Mouffetard You can find it in the article.

By the way, I wrote my comment quickly on my phone, please excuse any spelling mistakes!!!
Hello, we had a great meal here last year, thanks to your recommendation. When I came to Paris again exactly a year later, this was the only place I wanted to go, but I think it has changed hands :) Although the menu is the same, the presentation of the dishes has completely changed, when we showed the wine recommended last time this year, the waiter looked at it as if he had never seen it in his life, etc. Would you go and see if this place has really changed hands? 🙂
Hello,
First of all, thank you very much for your information.
I was planning to go to Mouffetard next Saturday to show a friend around. If I have the opportunity, I will go here and have a look.
Happy Days…
I'm in Paris and I wish I had discovered your blog earlier. I took small notes. Thanks a lot.
